  1. Cannot understand you well... if the permanent magnet is moved at a right angle, its internal magnetic field lines move with it too.
  2. Hi Ron. The subject has been plaged with too much hoaxes, false reports, misinformation and garbage from the public to the point the rest of the general public is fed up with it and do not pay attention to the genuine facts that may have occurred. In other words, the military got the cover-up they wanted by means and help of the misleading public along the years. The transistor, the optic fiber, nitinol (Nickel-Titanium-Naval Ordnance Laboratory) are products developed from extraterrestrial technology. Is there something specific do you want to know ?

  5. Thanks, gentlemen for your patience. I think I got the misconception clearer with your help. Perhaps the reason of my stubborness was the wrong perception of vacuum as being "omnipotent" when it is not.
  6. Obviously my question had a very wrong wording. Or concept. Thanks for your patience. Trying again... Can only suction from a vacuum pump at the discharge side of an osmotic membrane and nothing at the inlet, achieve the same osmotic effect instead of the 'normal' case of applying pressure at the inlet and nothing at the outlet ? Reverse osmosis "normal process" : 1000psig ----->inlet---->membrane----->outlet----->atmospheric discharge If I only have a vacuum pump and no compressor, can the same reverse osmotic process be achieved ? Atmospheric------>inlet----->membrane------>outlet------>?inchesHg vacuum pump What amount of vacuum capability should the vacuum pump be ?
  7. Thanks. Am sorry, does not make sense Differentials between pressure and partial vacuum are not this table thing.
  8. The kilo prefix is with capital K (Kg for kilogram), as all multiplying prefixes above 1. Prefixes of multipliers under 1 are with lower case. A little help: A discotheque light that flickers its intensity at the loudness of music shows amplitude modulation. To detect it, a photocell would respond with a signal according to the brightness. A discotheque light that changes its color according to the frequency of the music would be frequency modulation. The amount of brightness keeps constant, the color changes. To detect it, a color sensing device would de-modulate it.
  9. An osmotic membrane takes 1000 psigauge on the inlet side, and atmospheric pressure at its outlet side to perform its work. If the same osmotic membrane is left at atmospheric pressure at the inlet side; how many inches of mercury should be applied at the outlet to perform equally ?
  10. Inverting a channel is a third of the process; first you filter out the vocal spectrum and then you have to add left + inverted right. And will not work that well if the voice in both channels has different tonality or marked amplitude differences. If the music portion is similar in both channels, results will be worse. The best attempt is with voice equally present in both channels and music well stereo separated. A differential amplifier is the proper circuit to do it. Voice + music left -(voice + music right) - some voice spectrum --->~ some music + little voice.
  11. Attach your metal pieces to be attracted to a string as a pendulum and you will notice they do move at some distance. The force of attraction is much greater in close proximity as the formula has squared distance in the denominator, and when they come into contact the distance is near zero. A longer electromagnet will show a better response to your experiment as the distance upon contact will not be that small.
  12. The human blood absorbs more nitrogen at higher air pressures causing several adverse effects. The high andean natives's blood captures triple oxigen amounts breathing, it is something they developed trough generations to counteract the thinner atmosphere. As a guess, would take a loooong time to evolve in a similar way to battle the effects of nitrogen narcosis in the situation you describe, and to limited amount. Your "extreme environment" depth speculation would likely be impossible even for several generations. Diving tables tell to avoid beyond 1 hour at 20 metres depth.
  13. I will say because of possibility of resonance. Even a weak vibration in resonance with an architectural element can cause damage that could escalate if the resonating architectural element is in critical support of other elements, risking the integrity of the whole, pre-historic or modern, temple or other. Grab your automobile antenna by the base and push-pull it at varied cadence. There will be a critical frequency in your push-pull that will make the tip to shake widely even if your push-pull action is only a fraction of a millimeter. If the antenna was a pillar, you better be away from the falling elements.
  14. The construction of your question shows very limited knowledge on how to use a transistor; to mix two signals, both should be fed to the properly biased base with large resistors in series at each and the transistor set to work as an amplifier, and the output taken from collector or emitter if low impedance is desired. The simplest way to mix two signals is to use a transformer with 3 windings, one for mixed output and two for the inputs to be mixed. There is much more to consider depending on the properties of the signals.
  15. A Darrieus windmill is meant to spin a generator at its base; where its windings 'cut' magnetic lines to generate electricity. Cutting stronger or more lines of force can produce more power, and the wind force should be capable of keeping it up to a speed in order to produce a decent generation. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/3/3c/Darrieus-windmill.jpg But, if the blades were actually made a winding preserving its aerodynamics, and no generator at its base but slip rings; the magnetic lines being 'cut' would be the earth field. Weak but massive, the area being 'cut' would be comparatively huge. Finer wire wound would yield more voltage because of number of turns; thicker wire would yield less voltage but at a higher current. The power should be about the same. Do you think the huge spinning wound blades would be capable of extracting from wind a similar amount of power without having a generator at its base ? ----> How to calculate power based on the earth magnetic field 'constant', the huge area enclosed by the blades and the rotation speed ? Edited-added: Say 0.5 Gauss; 10m^2; 100rpm; 2 blades=1winding.
  16. You are missing an important detail, the wanted power capability for the inverter. The voltage ratio from 4.5 to 39 are reverse coincidental with a typical and abundant 117VAC to 13.5V AC transformer; which could be used as T1 here : http://www.sentex.ca/~mec1995/circ/555dcac.html
  17. There is maaany parameters that can be changed in the ECU memory, when the type of chip is rewrittable; and most are. If not, replacing the chip with your choices is also possible. There is plenty of 'performance' stores offering the service, here is one at random : http://www.remapscience.co.uk/
  18. Understood, but keep in mind "400F" or "200F" is not heat; it is temperature.
  19. Can the birds singing we perceive as pleasant, melodious, be in birds reality a manifestation as aggressive as dog barking ?
  20. Hi all. Noticed lately that when turning a corner, the temperature of the air inside the car feels abruptly warmer [yes, am at the southern hemisphere right now, using airconditioner] Has to be that layers or portions of the air next to perhaps the windshield does not rotate 90 degrees and is clearly felt at the driver position, by the inertia of the air mass. If other reason, please explain. That brings the question of a housefly hovering in the car; would it collide with the front windshield on a sudden stop ?

  24. Thanks. Same with me about qualifications in finances. The capital does not belong to the bank. The bank is just trafficking on it, what makes me believe the investment is not $10,000. The bank invested only the $200 as far as I can see. Opinions, please ?
  25. Hi. If a bank gets say $10,000 from a depositor funds, and pays $200 in interest to such in a year for a 2% rate ; If a loaner got those $10,000 , and paid the bank $800 in interest in a year for a 8% rate ; The bank invested $200 and got $800. ----> What is the percentage the bank earned in such operation ? Is it 200% ? [ The administrative costs of the bank, the parties and dinners and CEOs incentives being not part of this subject, those would be deducted to get a profit figure in $ ]
