  1. Example: How often team wins on homeland and how often team loses on homeland? How often team wins on opponent stadium and how often team loses on opponent stadium? These data can be easily extracted from tables and made statistics. Do you know what these questions mean in the reality: team which is flying long route to opponent is more tired of route. Also there must be added timezone changes. If coach of team is knowledgeable, or have proper advisors, could reduce team tiredness and decrease effects from timezone changes. When team is arriving to important opponent city? A few hours prior match? Day prior match? Couple days prior match? How much of time is spend in airplanes, and how much time is spend in buses? Team has private jet or is using public air traffic (which extends travel of the team, and make them more tired). Teams without private jets (due to costs) obviously will be more tired and less likely to win a game. How coach is dealing with alcohol, cigarettes, narcotics, doping.. ? i.e. are there performed regular daily basis tests on the whole team? Selected players? or none? (normal football players in my country were known for drinking a lot of alcohol, and spending night by night in casinos)
  2. Declining are only countries/nations with ratio children per woman less than 2. Here you have links: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_sovereign_states_and_dependencies_by_total_fertility_rate (check table with fertility rate per woman) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Total_fertility_rate#Replacement_rates (check world map on the right, colors indicate whether country has replacement or decline of population)
  3. ..what problems UN hide.. ?
  4. He meant hypothetical "white hole".. Sun, similar like other stars, is burning fuel (Hydrogen and Helium), which was sucked and gathered billions years ago during formation of Solar System. If it would be "white hole", it would have infinite (?) or finite (?) amount of fuel from opposite "black hole".. Which would mean it could exist for much longer time than expected by scientists. It would break the all currently accepted physics laws.
  5. I love you John, regardless you're drunk, or stoned..
  6. It is so cool to read your invaluable input, John, but yours Saturday post, is delayed by two years... Notice when my post was made... ps. It's good to sober prior reply, don't you think? ps2. There should be added option to this forum "I am drinking".. whenever somebody drinks at weekend, presses button, which automatically delays his or her reply the all messages to forum..
  7. But "all swans are white" is false statement. Some swans are not white. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_swan The key word in this statement is "all". If statement would be "majority of swans are white", finding swan with different color would not contradict statement.
  8. The key word here is "every"... No, it would not. It would show that "In every room in every building on earth, there's a green unicorn!" is false statement.
  9. Nobody mentioned Westworld? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0475784/
  10. Extremely well said!
  11. @Ghideon It is brilliant idea for a game for (and with) a child! +1. Let him or her build the molecule with balls-n-sticks, and search on-line what it is actually and read what it is doing. This is quite an interesting, innovative and not boring way to learn chemistry.
  12. That last post reminded me about one essential thing to have by every kid: ball-n-stick model. https://www.ebay.com/bhp/molecular-model-kit You can make your own molecule model from supplied in the box balls. Sticks represent bonds between atoms. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ball-and-stick_model
  13. This video is 42 seconds long at 360px resolution.. i.e. couple MB at most.
  14. You can show him e.g. this video of how photons (i.e. light) interact with atoms: Explain what is in the middle (nucleus), explain composition of nucleus (protons, neutrons, stability, radioactivity, decay energy, disintegration energy). Explain what is around nucleus (electrons), explain shells and sub-shells, how electrons are ejected, and how they are reattached to atom. Exactly. There are websites and desktop or mobile applications where you can enter chemical formula, get name of compound, and in 3D viewport observe and rotate 3D visualization of that molecule. See it from the all sides.
  15. FIFY. Poor Agricultural Methods in Drought Regions.. Hydroponics should be used wherever applicable, to limit water usage..
  16. It's easily verifiable by comparison of DNA chains of two or more species whether they have common ancestor. If somebody is rejecting humans evolution from apes, should not such person also reject DNA paternity test? Reject recognition of found unknown dead body using DNA tests? Reject recognition of criminals using DNA tests? GMO? And so on, so on.. In the Bible "Adam" is created not from nothing, but from "clay".. It's such analogy of transformation of inorganic matter to organic matter, expressed by scientific layman..

...3D printer, 3D scanner, licensed 3D applications, 2D plotter, CNC plasma cutter, CNC water-jet cutter, induction furnace, chemistry lab equipment including electron microscopes and mass spectrometer... (that's what comes to my mind the first) Typical equipment for business incubator office skyscraper for startup-companies. To be able to create prototype of device without having to buy or rent the all required tools.

There are already existing businesses in which somebody seeking for help is contacted with expert in the field. But it requires a lot of money to be invested at the beginning. There must be created platform, on-line website, with on-line chat, and obviously you must sign contract with scientists, paid per answer, paid per availability, paid per week or month. University students the last years in the field might be the most interested to be experts on such platform, as they need money for their studies. Without couple millions of dollars of investment, I don't see how such platform would be able to work.. Experts will generate cost at the beginning of operation for months or even years. See for instance Stack Exchange https://stackexchange.com/ People seeking help are asking questions, and experts are answering them. They required $12m funding. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stack_Exchange
  19. If there is rule of addition of HCl, then there should be rules for Chlorination, Fluorination, Bromination, Iodination etc. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halogenation#Chlorination
  20. For a test, I made ethane molecule in reactant(s) area, then made chloroethane in product area. Result: Then I changed ethane to ethene molecule in reactant(s) area by clicking on bonding to change to CH2=CH2 and result is: So, it's not calculating reaction on-the-fly but searching in database.. ? That' pretty basic example. C2H6+Cl2->C2H5Cl+HCl
  21. Works for me: [math]\frac{\Delta y}{\Delta x} = \frac{f(x+h)- f(x)}{h}[/math] [math]y = \int{ f(x) dx }[/math] @113 After sending message with Latex you need to refresh website.. It's very annoying, because if you have error in manually typed Latex, you will have to reedit multiple times, prior there is final error-free version. Older version of forum software allowed to preview post with Latex prior sending it.
  22. @Phi for All There is alternative design, vertical axis wind turbine. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vertical_axis_wind_turbine There should be made experimental offshore field of traditional wind turbines, mixed with vertical wind turbines, and performed experiment how well they will survive/behave in hurricanes/storms. If test will prove they are better in such unfriendly weather environment, they should be used instead of traditional design.
  23. @Phi for All@J.C.MacSwell https://www.energy.gov/eere/articles/wind-turbines-extreme-weather-solutions-hurricane-resiliency "Recent hurricanes Irma and Maria inflicted a lot of damage on infrastructure, including energy infrastructure. Wind turbines, whether they are land-based or offshore, have built-in mechanisms to lock and feather the blades (reducing the surface area that’s pointing into the wind) when wind speeds exceed 55 miles per hour. Basically, the wind turbine is essentially in “survival mode,” waiting for the storm to subside, so it can safely go back to producing energy." https://www.energy.gov/eere/articles/how-do-wind-turbines-survive-severe-storms "Every wind turbine has an anemometer that measures wind speed and a wind vane to keep track of the wind’s direction. See if you can find them toward the end of the scene of this 360° Wind Turbine Tour video. When the anemometer registers wind speeds higher than 55 mph (cut-out speed varies by turbine), it triggers the wind turbine to automatically shut off. "
  24. Existing and old abandoned mines, or natural caves, can cause damages like cracks on buildings existing on the surface, when their tunnels are collapsing.
  25. Congratulation to show that you have no idea what you are talking about. You don't even know proper terminology which is widely used even by non-professional programmers. 1) procedures, routines, sub-routines, functions. If inside of OOP class, they're called methods. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Subroutine 2) conditional branches, or unconditional branches. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Branch_(computer_science) 3) control flow of program https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Control_flow 4) source code. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Source_code 5) compilation and compiler, interpretation and interpreter. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Compiler https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Interpreter_(computing)
