Hello Everyone, I Need to increase NPK of my Natural fertilizer which is from crab shell,it contains Nitrogen is 2.6%, Phosphorus is 1.2% and Potassium is 0.5. But i Need to increase in the ratio of NPK N= 4 P=3 k= 0.5. Is there any natural ingredient of marine waste or any other natural waste to increase Nitrogen and Phosphorus?; please suggest me. Thank you.

Hello, I'm new to this forum and I have a question which I have not yet found an answer to elsewhere online. My question is this: if thousands of gallons of ethanol cleaner (pure nondenatured ethanol) are used to sanitize a large public facility (such as a sports stadium), then would there be any effects for the atmosphere once the ethanol evaporated? Any input or references would be very much appreciated. Thank you.

What are the rough pKa values of the two amine groups in carbidopa? Do these amines form a diamine or are they seperate aliphatic amines? I presumed they would have average pKa values for primary (9.4) and secondary amines (10.7), however drugbank says the most basic group in carbidopa has a pKa of around 5.6. I am not sure how either of the amines have a pKa value of around this unless both of them being bonded has an effect. Any responses would be greatly appreciated as this is help for an assignment due very soon. Many thanks, Tom.

Hello, first of all I would like to apologize if my english isn't perfect. It's not my first language and I am still struggling with some scientific terms. However, I don't find much chemistry forums in my language and I usually have lots of questions, so why not go international with them? :) I read that nitrogen can be a stereocenter if it is "fixed/locked" in a certain way. Usually this is the case for quarternary amines. However I also read that the N-1 nitrogen, the one "inside" the lactam structure of beta-lactam-antibiotics can be seen as "sort of" a stereocentre. I barely find information about this. Is there a clear answer? Or can we just say that the n…

Hey guys, I want to know some info about the decomposition of PLA. I want to know how much energy does it take to decompose PLA in pyrolysis. Is the activation energy (J/mol) the energy required to decompose PLA? Or are there more factors which require energy? What kind of rest products will the PLA leave behind if it totally decomposes? (Pretty quickly from 300K to 1700K). If I understand correctly the PLA will first leave lots of hydrocarbons due to random C - C bonds breaking at a lower temperature, but what would roughly be the final rest products at 1700K? Is there a way for me to calculate how much gas will be produced from each gram of PLA decomposin…

Hi, I'm creating a rain water collecting system under our deck out of three daisy chained 1000 liter IBC tote cubes that previously held aqueous 70% choline chloride used by the animal feed industry and I'm trying to neutralize the unexpectedly strong odor of the HDPE containers. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Choline_chloride My plan is to thoroughly rinse them with water and then spray down the interior with either a strong baking soda or household bleach solution with my one gallon hand sprayer and I'm wondering if anyone can provided some guidance on which of the two, both or what else would be most effective breaking down the smelly organic choline cati…

Hey guys, So I'm trying to do a diazotization of 3-aminopyridine (as the title has no doubt tipped you off), and I'm having some trouble. I'm dissolving the pyridine in excess of water, adding 1.2 env HCl and cooling the water in the flask with an acetone/dry ice bath down to -5ºC. I add NaNO2 in water dropwise to the flask but I don't see any redness or evolving gas, as I would expect to (so my PI says). After addition and enough time for homogenization, I reflux at 70ºC for several hours. The product does not form. Any ideas?

Hello ! My question is quite simple, but it's very important. I am looking for the name of this molecule : (chek the attached file) It is a product made by the reaction of dioxygen and 1,4 dioxane and the only thing i was able to find on this is that this compund is naturally occuring when dioxane is exposed to air or UV light. Thanks to your help.

I am using octanoic (caprylic) acid to remove albumin from my human serum samples for further processing. However once I have carried out the fractionation, my sample has a slight blue colour (which is very apparent when concentrated!) - does anyone know what reaction is occurring or why this colour has appeared? Is there anything I can do to prevent it?! Thanks very much for your help

I want to synthesize methyl 3,5-dibromobenzoate (3,5-dibromobenzoic acid methyl ester). This can be synthesized from the corresponding benzoic acid, ester, or aldehyde, which are all meta- directing. However, they strongly deactivate the benzene ring and make bromination difficult. Even if the first bromination is achievable, i cannot find any papers on how to do the second one. I don't have access to an already bromo- substituted benzene compound. Is there an easier synthetic route? I am struggling in finding any papers for reference. I am very new to Organic Chemistry and although it seems like an easy target I still find it extremely difficult.

Can someone recommend a trustworthy company that provides synthesis service of small scale. I have asked several companies, but they only do larger scale synthesis. Any comment or recommendation will be highly appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, I have benzocaine base and I want to convert it to benzocaine hydrochloride. The method I have is to dissolve the base in diethyl ether in one beaker, and in another beaker mix 37% hydrochloric acid with acetone, then combine the two beakers to initialize crystallization. HOWEVER I do not want to use ether because of the safety aspect. Is there something I can substitute for ether? Ethyl acetate perhaps?

On boxing day I bought 2 air purifiers (high grade hepa and activated carbon filters) for my parents and myself to increase their health, and just want to confirm if it's true that air purifiers can really filter 99.97% of all airborne particles? If so, does that mean they work as effectively as trees and plants in filtering the air? Thanks!

Regarding calcium in the bloodstream, in drinking water, and in food. Are calcium ions always single, free atoms? Is that the definition of "dissolved?" (single atoms?) Does the bloodstream contain any undissovled calcium? how much? how big? Does drinking water contain any undissolved calcium? Does it all dissolve when consumed by animals? Regarding calcium supplements, and antacids made from ground oyster shells : Do these large, undissolved pieces readliy "dissolve" in water or in the body? Or do some large chunks remain, roaming at large in the body?
