Solve : A B C + D E F ------------ = G H I J ------------ where each letter stands for a different decimal [either 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 or 0] How many solutions are there with G = 1 ? How many with G = 0 ? G can not have any other value ! ` I could see 235 + 746 = 0981 and 632 + 457 = 1089 are two solutions ! Are there any more ?

My recent work on the Collatz conjecture has lead to the development of a method that allows me to merge the outputs of two functions into one function. To construct this new function, I only use the functions being joined, and elementary operations such as addition / subraction, multiplication / division, and exponents. Furthermore, I map the output of one function to odd numbers in the domain and the output of the other function to even numbers. So, the domain is restricted to integers, but the range can be whatever the functions output. This challenge is actually pretty easy, and the goal is to formulate the mathematics to join the outputs of [math]f(x)=2^x[/math] …

What is the difference between an inacceleratable object and a immovable object? By the way, the answer is not: Inaccelratable object cannot be accelerated but can be moved, vice-versa. This is somewhat similar or perhaps is the Theory of Relativity.

I will give another online game which could be interesting and challenging ! The game is perhaps quite known as we have been playing it in family circles for years. Even children can play it while it will challenge adults as well. I designate a word - a four letter verb - and I being the author is expected to be fair and not manipulate that word at my end once the game starts. The example of such words are : read , like , make etc There should be no repetition of letters allowed so no kill , meet etc - they will not be given as the challenge wprd. Everyone can participate and the first who finds that word is the winner. Generally a Good Player can solve the…

Acronyms can be useful mnemonics, but they require anagram skills. Hence the game I would like to try. This post contains the rules for round 1. Each post gives an anagram of the above word with a tolerance of 1 insertion, 1 substitution, 1 deletion, or however many deletions to reduce the content to 7 or more units. Deleted units can't be reintroduced next turn, unless that user gives permission. Duplicate letters are distinct units, and only letters count as units. If you do multiple independent words, each word must be 4+ letters. The aim is to rearrange your way to your team's word. No double posting. If a questionable word isn't accompanied…

For this challenge, I've decided to go with the parabola yet again. If we take a triangle, it is possible to find three parabolic curves that fit perfectly inside the triangle such that two vertices of the triangle are located on a parabola with two sides of the triangle being tangent to the parabola at those points. The following image illustrates this property: The above image demonstrates these parabolic curves that fit perfectly in the triangle. Of course, the equation that describes the parabolas is not a standard function and is defined parametrically. Furthermore, the order of the points matter, which determines the parabolic curve and direction along the …

Common rules for this geometric teasers. There is an initial figure (eg a circle), and there is something that should be at the end (such as a triangle in the circle). To solve the puzzles, you can only use a ruler and compass, respectively, you can build segments, circles and copy it. Nothing else There are many teasers such this, but this was very difficult for me. You should construct a tangent simultaneously to two circles so that in one circumferential line touching the top, and a second at the bottom. Please see pictures. Original: Required result:

I wondered if only one else plays with prisms, I have spent many years viewing television in 3d using two prisms, It gives me new dimensions to explore, and turns a plain 2d experience into 3d, when you master this technique you can play about with one or two prisms adding in refraction to black&white areas and different effects you pick up along the way. , One of my favourite things to view or science/cosmos programmes, New dimensions jump out at you, I now find it hard/dull to view television in any other way. Also music videos, they seem to be made for this type of viewing. I often take prisms out with me, they can bring a greater depth to almost anythi…
