My homework is self-inflicted as I exited Physics in 1964 . Weight of 1kg is a force of 10 Newtons and dropping 1kg 5meters for 1 second makes 10 Newtons which stretches the credibility. Anyway , I'm replicating a force of .5kg at 40 meters /sec velocity which may well be 20 Newtons, who knows. It seems that 2kg at rest is also 20 Newtons . Anyone know an equation for Newtons at rest as gravity force?

Ok so I've been working on this problem for what seems like forever now and I can't get it. Can someone PLEASE help me?! It has a picture of a flask that has a bulb on each end, these two bulbs are connected. Question: Consider the flasks in the following diagram. What are the final partial pressures of H2 and N2 after the stopcock between the two flasks is opened? (Assume the final volume in 3.00L) What is the total pressure in torr? One side of the bulb is H2 and it has 2.0L H2 and 475 torr. The other side is N2 and has 1.0L N2 and .200 atm. Please someone help me!!!!! This is due tomorrow and I have no clue how to work this out, I've tried everything …

  3. Hi im sorry i dont know if this is the correct forum to ask this question in but here it is:I need to calculate the riboflavin content for a solution. It was made from 1 vitamin tablet dissolved in 20ml of water. Then the solution was made up to 100ml with neutral buffer. Then a 1:50 dilution was made with the solution. The concentration of riboflavin in the 1:50 solution was 86 μg/L. I need to know the riboflavin content in the tablet, in mg. Could anyone be kind enough to help me with this please. Here is what i have done for this. I am not very confident in it and im afraid that it may be incorrect. 1 tablet in 20ml > made to 100 ml > 1 i…

I was given a scenario in which a woman is heterozygous for the deafness gene, her husband also being heterozygous. I was asked to complete a punnett square, in which I used D for the deafness gene and d for the hearing gene, and I got DD, Dd, Dd and dd, so from that I figured that there's a 75% chance of carrying the deafness gene, 25% of the child being deaf and 25% of the child being able to hear. Assuming the woman had another child, I was supposed to give the probability of her having two deaf children in a row, and I thought that would still be 25%, thought something tells me I am extremely wrong. Finally, I'm supposed to give the probability of the woman …

Hello so I am having an issue with rectifying the math for this problem. I have the answer that my teacher gave me which is the answer specific to my lab but on my own I can not prove the math to be correct. I actually cant even get a number at all my calculator is giving me a constant error. Background on the problem: Car attached to a string with a mass suspended on it passes through a photo-gate connected to a smart timer which reads the acceleration. These trials are performed on an incline ramp which has an unknown angle of incline. This is the problem we want to figure out besides tension and all that we want to determine what the angle of the incline …

Hello, I am working on a potentiometric titration lab for a diprotic phosphoric acid. Attached is the excel document of my lab. We are diluting 1.022 M NaOH by a factor of 5 and then using it to titrate with 25 ml 0.06M Phosphoric acid in a beaker. I know my titration curve is correct, however my TA told me that the scaling of my x-axis is wrong for my first and second derivative curves. I know that I need to use the average volume. I also know that I take must take the raw volumes and correct for the initial reading in order to find the average, but I am not exactly where I am going wrong. What I am doing is taking the second volume and adding it t…

Hi everyone, So, I have this subject at University called Work and Organizational Psychology, and in order to be graded, I need to make a presentation about Micropolitics. Here comes the issues. Every time I search for the definition of micropolitics it shows as: The use of formal and informal power by individuals and groups to achieve their goals within organizations, as opposed to macropolitics. Which sounds very interesting indeed. The problem is when I take a look at some books to support my research, it seems to talk about something totally different. Now I am really confused, what should I talk about? What should I mention? Which definition does micro…

Hey, I've been stuck on this problem for quite some time: J = ∫0 ->4 ∫ sqrt(x) -> 2 (1 + y^2 * cos(x * sqrt(y))) dydx The cos (x * sqrt(y)) is the one causing trouble. I can't seem to find a way to integrate this. I even tried to turn it to polar coordinates but nothing seems to work. What am I doing wrong? Could someone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance. PS: Sorry for my english, it's not my native language.

Hi, can somebody please help me with these two questions? 1)Suppose a social network contains a number of people, each of whom has one of two “opinions” (e.g. a preference for Mac versus PC). Each person is connected with a set of “friends”, some of the other people in the network. You can choose any person in the network and let them see the opinions of their friends, and if most of the friends have the same opinion, then the chosen person will change their opinion to the one shared by the majority of their friends. If there’s an equal split, you can choose their opinion. Assuming the network is connected, can we always find a sequence of people so as t…

  18. As a part of my thesis research, I need to mention what are the reasons that make it uneasy for humans to talk/think about sex. Why is the topic usually provoking stronger reactions (both positive and negative as well as personal and outer) than e.g. weather. I have found academic materials that state that sex reminds us of our corporeal animal nature and it provokes the fear of death, while we prefer to manage that terror by clinging to a symbolic cultural view of reality. But I don't think this is all. I can imagine there is some term that investigates the problematics of sex as a topic in human's mind. I tried to find something on google scholar, but I wasn't suc…

  20. Ok so so far I have not struggled with the elevator problems however, the one on the test I was a little off in my method and couldn't get the answer. The question is something like: An elevator has a cable with the max force of 16,000N, the mass of the elevator is 1200kg (a)what is the maximum mass of the passengers if the elevator is at rest (this part I got, I think)? (b) What is the max capacity if the elevator is moving at a constant v of 4m/s (c) what is the max capacity if the elevator is accelerating up at 1.4m/s^2? I got the same answer for (a) & (b) which was approximately 435kg for (c) I got something like .85 which I the…
