http://scifi.about.com/library/weekly/aa110303.htm Either way, I am buying the tetralogy. If you include the animatrix... would that make it a triskaidecalogy, or a waste of time? j/k I love the Matrix with all my body.

Good movie (not bad, not excellent). Terrible ending to the series, way to many question posed in the original and reloaded were left completely unanswered, and alot of the symbolism was so blatant and repetitive it became irritating. What did everyone else think? Please avoid specifics about the plot until monday so it's not ruined for the people who haven't seen it yet.

I already posted this here but I wanted to know what you guys thought too. When we left the first film, the majority of the human population is locked into a vast system that keeps their bodies alive and their minds active. As far as the occupants of the Matrix are concerned, they are all leading perfectly normal lives. So are they actually losing anything? The machines are not parasitising the humans, as the inference in the film suggests. The relationship is actually a mutualism, a kind of give-give symbiosis. The fact that this has been enforced for the humans is not relevant as it does not affect the trophisms of the system. Had humanity not started…

Everybody at The Presido in San Fransisco on Wednesday 5th November 2003 was witness to what is probably the biggest DVD news to date. Lucasfilms big wigs officially announced that the original Star Wars Trilogy (A New Hope; the Empire Strikes Back; and The Return Of The Jedi) will be making their DVD debut in September 2004. These will not be the 1970's and 1980's originals, but the 1990's Special Editions with a bit more added / cleaned up on top. DVDdebate.com Also on IGN it says Natalie Portman is definitely being added to the original trilogy HAHAhh Lucas suxx BTW im new.. So Holla

For those of you who aren't British this is not a rude statement!! I'm just annoyed that when I go into the chatroom there are those (no names, no pack drill) who do not respond. I realise I have found my niche....haranguing chatroom types who do not chat!!! What are you doing there? Why enter a chatroom if you don't chat? What are you thinking? What is the meaning of life....OK...I've gone too far but c'mon peeps....a chat room is for chatting surely....and those of you who do the "away" thing should just log off and not be a pain to others. Be warned peeps...I'm most probably going to be unemployed in a week or two so I shall be surfing and insulting more than usual!!

Boys, boys.....how predictable you are.....lol. "Stephy" with her innuendo turns up and your tongues are hanging out. Perhaps I misjudge and actually she won a Nobel prize....but I doubt it. This totally confirms my opinion of men....committed to their life's work until a likely looking filly turns up!! But I suspect "filly" is a misnomer.

I've been playing Halo Combat Evolved on my sisters computer and I'm feeling addicted to the online Capture the Flag. Anyone else on the forums have it? Can we all get on a server and play with teams? I really wanna run some of you over with a Warthog.

It's a simple enough question! Vote, and say what you think below This poll has nothing to do with site policy and I doubt it will affect it - I'm just curious to see what people think. [i put this in here because (i) GD is the only forum everyone regularly checks, and (ii) to ensure it definitely did not appear on the front page]

I've often wondered about a couple of things........if I was growing up in Nazi Germany would I have stood up against the regime and helped Jewish people...or would I have accepted the propaganda of the day and been one of the masses? If I had grown up in the deep south of the USA would I have fought for the rights of black people? If I WAS black/Jewish would I have had courage to stand up for my rights? I hope I would have had courage but I don't really know. I was raised in a liberal environment but my beliefs have never been "tested" so I just wondered how many of you think you would have had the courage to rise to the challenge of standing up for honour and what's rig…

How is everyone doing this lovely Friday morning? I'm ok, only got 4 hours of sleep last night and was locked out of the building when I got to work, but other than that all is well. What are you doing this weekend?

Skunk ape on film. Theres actually quite an organized attempt at capturing a primate on the loose weighing in at nearly 400 pounds going on in georgia right now after nearly 100 cats have gone missing and numerous sightings. It'd be neat if they actually turn up with something.

I accidently posted this in the "general science" forum, so sue me for posting it twice. How is everyone doing today? Me, I just got into work about 20min ago and in a few minutes I have to go hump the copy machine for most of the day. After awhile, it starts to smell funny, I'm not really looking forward to it. At least today is Thursday though, only one more day of work.

This little guy could be the lint in my pocket. The tiny creature - called Peewee - is fully grown and yet measures less than one inch in length, weighs less than one ounce and is no higher than a 50p piece. He could find his way into the Guiness book of records, and Richard Gere.

The juvenile sea squirt wanders through the sea searching for a suitable rock or hunk of coral to cling to and make its home for life. For this task, it has a rudimentary nervous system. When it finds its spot and takes root, it doesn't need its brain anymore so it eats it! (It's rather like getting tenure.) From CONSCIOUSNESS EXPLAINED, by Daniel Dennett, p. 177 Sounds some of the tenure's at USF
