Speculations Forum Rules

The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:

  1. Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
  2. Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
  3. Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.

The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

This is probably a question for which I will likely be severely beaten around the ears for even bringing it up. "But", how can the speed of a randomly diverging universe be determined? If as said, the universe was spewed out into an eternal expanding bubble some years back as a "supposed" gaseous plasma, and has been moving sequentially ever since. Why now would it be speeding up? If in fact this was the B.B. happening in a vacuum, there is no reason to think a speedup would be the case. With no restrictions of freely escaping out into this "un-real" real estate, the universe has been expanding in moderation for billions of years. So again, why the speedup? For me to sit …

Hello, I am looking for someone who could help me to finish the theory attached. It is based on time dilation effect, but I analyse dilation as a field itself. As yet theory predicts expected delay of high-energy photons from gamma flashes vs. the visible light compliant to results obtained with observations through the FERMI telescope (flashes from the GRB090510 source). It also pass OTW tests. Bibliography in the article. If you are physicist or you know physicist who could help me - please contact me at piotrogonowski.pl@gmail.com Thank you in advance for any support Piotr Ogonowski DILATION_FIELD_THEORY.pdf

There is no evidance for this theory I run my own creation vs science forum and not one evolutionist has given a single peive of empircle evidence (meaning testable, observable and demonstrated) I love this subject beacuse there is no evidence on either side its all speculation

  4. Having a mass in the space is a high energy state. After inflation, the energy become particles which have a mass is thermodynamically right? The theory similar to vapor condensation theory. Satuated vapor can easily become drops because the energy state of the drop is law. But to be a particle which has a mass is not low energy state, it is very high energy state. Is this theory reasonable?

Scientists have been discovering voids in space that are billions of light-years across. One huge void found in 2009 is a mystifying 3.5 light-years across. Now, this may not seem like a big deal. But when you consider that the visible universe stretches only 13.5 light-years in any direction, a void 3.5 light-years across is about a quarter of the visible universe. That's a lot of empty space. But, this may still not seem like a big deal to you. So here's the big deal, and the real deal: there hasn't been enough time since the big bang for such large voids to form. Now, that's a problem. The mystery is described on NewScientist.com, April 4th, 2009, in an articl…

  6. Hello all, I've recently read(partially) the book written by G.D.Wasserman "Shadow Matter and Psi-phenomena and possible Survival of Human Personality". Here is description from Amazon: "A scientist casts new light on psychic phenomena, such as clairvoyance, telepathy, and 'out of body experiences'. He presents an exciting new theory which explains such phenomena, linking the recently discovered 'Shadow Matter' world of physics with parapsychology. It replaces notions of the occult with important new ideas that are figuring in physics (even in recent television programmes). The book contains case histories, showing how this new theory could account for telepathy, clai…

  8. A few months ago, I experienced a suprising phenomenon with my radio: I was in my room, and my radio was on. I was on my bed a few meters away. However, my radio had a lot of static. I think something was inerfering with it receiving the radio waves. But, when I stood within 5 feet of my radio, the static disapated. It was as if my body was helping the radio receive the waves. The interesting part was when I barely moved an inch out of the 5 foot radius, my radio got staticy again. I then moved in a tad bit closer to my radio, and the static went away again. I continued going back and forth with the same result, and I could have done so for the entire night. Can anyon…

  10. Hi, first post here. I am not sure if this is the right place to post this, however considering what im about to post is baseless and completely not within mainstream physics I figure it should be the right sub-forum. I have been having a back and forth with a creationist now for 2 days with him making some wild claims that he can prove the universe is 6000 years old using relativity, inflation period of the universe and the 'ether model'. I'm not having this back and forth with him to try and 'make him see the errors of his ways' since that is usually impossible, however I do want to leave something behind in case anyone comes across his ramblings and doesn't…

Time The logical position shifts of the zero intersection within a particular x,y,and z plane as it pertains to it's own non symetrical dialation Vacuum energy annihalation fills the voids of space/time with the minimum amout of momentum needed to sustain the integrity of the continum as structure forms out of harmonically balanced frequencies of distance/momentum projections by the relative zero points in pro-atomic space time. If I am correct, one might possibly time travel if you could get some very specialized equipment to record the pattern shifts of a particular field of atoms in space, and you'd also have to have a some very specialized equipm…

I have been watching solar flares for years,I am now convinced that a very small few of them break the speed off light,I will explain why. Go look at the videos of solar flares and do this. Draw a circle around the outside of the sun, draw another circle 186,000 miles out from that line, this is the distace the solar flare should not be able to cross in 1 second(a bit of mathmatics is needed to figure out where to place the second line as every video is a bit different but if your on this website thats no problem for us. Most of the solar flare videos show flares that stay under this line BUT I have found 3 which the flares cross this line in under 1 second,it's…

Hello! I tried to write about it before, but it never came through all right. I meditated a lot, when I was a teenager. With it in me awoke something, that I know little about. It is a kind of a possibility to control my body with my mind. It became more than a learned ability, I cannot stop doing it, like it runs itself. By itself it seems nothing special, but it seems it is possible to do it. It feels there is a system of the body, that allows it to happen. I found six centers of different activity, each with three subcenters, one being the main (in the middle), other two blending with the past and next center. The feelings, that run through them, seem to ru…

If the multiverse theory is true (that ours is just one of >1 universe), I'm curious how time would work in it. On a documentary I saw a few years ago, one theory regarding this says that our universe might have been created when two other universes collided. Another theory says our universe is an expanding bubble in a bubble bath of universes. Yet another says we might be the offspring of a black hole in another universe. And maybe it's a combination, all or some of the above? Now, to me, as a layman, all of these seem to require time to be not bound by a particular universe. Two universes swinging wildly in a void would need time to be present universally? S…

  15. Space (Length, Area, Volume, etc.) x Time = Everything that happens in given space in a certain amount of time Say in an volume of 100 cm^3 for 5 seconds, 500 "units" happen, which is the same amount as 5 cm^3 in 100 seconds. If you think about it it makes sense that they are the same too.

Quite a few people on the internets seem to simply not "believe" in SR, and are trying to figure out time while holding onto that belief. I don't get why anyone would try to figure it out while denying the reality of SR. I can see questioning the evidence of SR, but given the evidence, trying to figure out time according to ideas incompatible with SR seems to involve figuring out something incompatible with reality. How can you figure out time while reasoning about ideas that are not based in reality? It is essentially reasoning based on fantasy. You can claim anything you want to, if you're not concerned with reality. For fun I thought I'd try it (while still consid…

dear friends this is my first thread. i want to know about Darwin's theory of evolution with evidence. in order to prove darwin's theory of evolution the following things should be proved: conclusion: man is evolved from monkey reason 1: there was monkeys and not men. reason 2: evolution process takes place. reason 3: man comes out as a result of that process. if anybody establish these reasons with proper evidence, i will be very happy and obliged. fossils do not prove any of the reasons stated above.

Hello reader, my name is Kyle Smith. I've only recently started to search for those who I can share my ideas with. So far, my search has led me here. I have many ideas on many things, but I would like to start from the beginning. It seems as if the scientific community is leaving an important factor to the equation of the theory of the formation of the universe out. What if the beginning is wrong? In my opinion, we are putting too much into what we "think" we know. Countless times in history mankind has "known". In a not too distant past, the world being flat was taken as a known fact, and I'm sure equations of that time would have showed it as well. If they would have on…

I'd like to be clear about this: I'm not talking about the fortune telling scam you see in newspapers. I'm talking about personality traits associated with astrological signs; maybe there may be something to it. What if the modern view of astrology is a bit off? I'm thinking that if we move away from astrology being about the effects of constellations on our lives and toward astrological charts being a complicated calendar, we might find a shred of truth behind all the mystic nonsense. If the astrological charts act merely as a complicated calendar, it could be that cyclic Earthly (vice celestial) events are at root. Is it not possible for temperature and the avai…

This was shared on twitter, and it's an absolutely awesome explanation about how the media (and some random 'fancy looking' sites) totally misleads the public, either intentionally out of some agenda or by incompetence (by not asking for proper resources). GREAT resource for everyone, but I think it's even doubly relevant to this forum. There are other parts to it, too.

This is a digression of the "ontology" thread... Can anyone think of a philosophical reasoning that this wouldn't be true, specifically by describing some definition of distance that has meaning without the presence of matter? How could you possibly measure (or express) distance of nothingness? Isn't 1m between nothing the same as a billion light years between nothing? How can you measure distance without using matter? If you stick a tape measure in it, the matter of the tape measure defines distance. If you shine a light into it, you receive no information back (unless spacetime is closed). Is there any example of distance that is defined without requiri…

  24. Hello All As there seem to be so many conflicting ideas about this subject and because many of these ideas seem to fall into the realm of speculation I decided this was the best place for this post. Various ideas/concepts of time travel seem to have been around on this planet for a very long time so I think I'll skip the history tour. It seems possible as we are travelling forwards in time every unit of time ( split/second, minute, hour day etc ) already that given time dilation/relativity that perhaps in the future we may be able to "jump" forwards in time by varying units of time ( although if future time is being set up each split/unit of time the…

Based on conservation law of energy principle, nothing can come from northing or nullity. Nevertheless, the total energy of the Universe is zero. Total momentum of the universe is also zero. Noteworthy, according to H particle-paths hypothesis, in my website Hparticles.com/, the total path-length of the universe is conserved. In other words the algebraic sum of path-length in spatial and mass media is zero at all the time. Tirgan
