It says R XD/-1.75X11,

            L YD/-2.00X7.

what are the second parts R (-1.75X11), L (-2.00X7)?

Are they very bad?

That is the actual prescription. Typically it has three parts, sphere/cylinder and axis.  -1.75 is not too bad in terms of nearsightedness. X refers to axis, but since there are no values noted it suggests that there is no astigmatism.

I can see for miles... but will walk into anything less than a metre away.

That implies memory problems. Maybe write yourself a note next time to walk around it once you get there.
