With me it is very slow too. Logging in already took 2 minutes after pressing the button.

Well my browser has been helpfully ()forcibly) upgraded without my knowledge to the new improved version that does things I do not want it to do.

So there is a new wave which goes against all my security training look for the https but suppressing the http or https bit.

So the browser originally looks for http - see screenshot 1 when I wanted to move from Google to SF.

So when after I though I died waiting and the system finally logged into St I see it then finds the https version. See screenshot 2

All nicely hidden by the browser.

Perhaps those pesky ruskies are frigging with the transatlantic cables between Europe and America again buit European sites esp the BBC are fast, but american ones are slow.

Yes, I've been unable to get in for 3 days too. At least, the little horizontal bar at the top that shows progress to accessing the web address has frozen and after about 30secs or so I have concluded the site is down. It appears from the above comments others have got in after waiting for several minutes, so maybe I was too impatient and it might have got there in the end. Much better this morning (0900 GMT). So whatever it was has for now gone away. Apparently.

I wish.

Still quite slow here. As with yesterday I had some tasks where I could click and then go do something for a couple minutes while the site glacially responded. SFN has a problem, Houston.

Yes I spoke too soon, evidently. It is almost unusably slow again now. I can just about use it by having a dedicated window open for it to respond while I look at other stuff, but that's not going to be enough to keep the forum going. People will give up.

ETA: And here's another symptom: when I posted, the site did it's now usual "grinding the corn" and I went off to fix coffee. Came back and it had successfully posted but had also logged me off. Now I'll see if it does that again. Clicking submit button now...

.....okay this time I wasn't logged off. So that is just some intermittent glitchiness.

Hope not, and I'm wondering if this is some planning error with our web hosting service not adding enough ports or processing for the end of the school year in the States. Maybe the owner could pass our feedback along. If any conscious brains still are there in customer service.

Logging in and going page to page is very slow. At first I thought it was my ISP but other sites seem to load at normal speed.

Brains in Customer Service ??!?

What planet do you live on ?

I had time to plant the coffe, harvest it, roast it, make and drink the coffee, whilst posting this.

Haha, yep. Like watching plate tectonics this morning.

CAN A MOD PLEASE NOTIFY THE OWNER AND/OR ADMIN?

Working quickly again just now, at 1514GMT.

Wonder if it’s fixed or just a fluke.

I'm still wishing.

Perhaps you saw your lucky star last night ?

Haha it was a fluke. Worked quickly for 3 operations, then back to the same slowness we have all been experiencing.

To be honest it is not worth me even looking at the forum until such time as this gets fixed, as you simply cannot navigate around the site.

Still experiencing very slow response times here in UK for both logging in and navigating around the site - Is this a DNS resolver problem ?

I've had similar molasses-in-Greenland slowness on Edge, Firefox, and Chrome, and on both desktops and handheld, FWTW. You are our last hope, Obiw-, Iodine, both for this matter and the rising incidence of goiters.

I'm not going to say it.

No I'm not going dare to say it.

It's working again.

There I've said it.

Hope I didn't break it.

Yes it does seem to be back to normal now. Checked ~0600 and again ~0900 GMT and normal speed on both occasions.

From a Nigerian perspective, the site is currently responding unusually rapidly. What to do with all that extra spare time on my hands?

Just to let you all know, I have begun the summoning procedure to awaken the big guns / sent the other admins who have access to the server a message. Hopefully they will be able to investigate and have it resolved soon!

Many thanks for your intervention. It seems to have been fixed. Out of idle curiosity I’d be interested to know what the problem was, if you happen to know.
