  1. I see no legitimate reason why anyone would need more than a three-shot magazine with manual recocking: It gives the hunter three chances, and the delayed repeat shots, give the prey, at least a chance. It gives the hunted a chance to scare off the threat and back it up with a legitimate threat and two chances. It gives the injured, no more than, three chances to exact revenge.
  2. I agree with your analysis on the whole but "no time in the foreseeable future." I think you're wrong here. People like you are the answer, Americans that have enough intelligence to see the ridiculous and self-destructive nature of the current status quo, and the eloquence to explain why; all you've got to do is resist the urge to accept the futility of doing something. I'm not suggesting it'll happen overnight but the cultural shift is happening now and if enough people stand up it may even be the next generation but if it's the one after that or the one after that, surely it's worth the effort? Indeed, a simple ban on automatic weapons would make an immeasurable difference, imagine how many lives could have been saved if he had to manually reload, or even recock?
  3. It doesn't matter what the excuse, the reason is access.
  4. https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2017/10/02/las-vegas-shooting/722191001/ http://www.jiveinthe415.com/2012/12/is-sensible-discussion-of-gun-control.html The argument, "fuck off, I like guns" was never valid as a reason but as excuses go it's right up there with "my dog ate my homework"...
  5. I'm repeating a claim by the BBC program QI (a fact-based comedy game show with a team of researchers) Well, that's one interpretation but a little tenuous.
  6. That's like excluding a clock as a theoretical method of measuring it.
  7. They're both mental disorders, the difference is, one is due to physiological reality and the other isn't.
  8. AFAIK no society has suggested the Earth is flat, until recently; any discrepancy, as far as I can see, is the result of an ever-increasing inequality in our modern capitalist system and the education it provides.
  9. I think it stands more chance than the current wall building drawbridge pulling attitude. If you include access to a good standard of education, then it can only increase innovation, along with a more contented and, therefore, stronger society.
  10. Add what you want, it doesn't change the fundamentals; physics is physics whatever you add...
  11. That was kinda my point, surely a black hole has a minimum mass? How? was my question...
  12. I mean I don't really understand, 157 km? How was that created?
  13. I knew I'd be pulled up short on that, but it doesn't really change my answer, a black hole must have the smallest size...
  14. Isn't that the whole point of this thread? Do you even realise, a black hole is a singularity?
  15. That doesn't explain how such a singularity could be created? Before CERN was turned on there was speculation that micro singularities could be created, no evidence so far, do you have any?
  16. I'm sure there is no mathematical theoretical size limit for a black hole, but I would assume, given the science that if the parent star of the singularity was big enough to go supernova; how could it be small enough to exist in our solar system and not affect us?
  17. I'm amazed this topic has reached 46 posts, the physics are basic and the OP's intent is obvious; as I've previously suggested the most promising outcome involves surfing and hedges...
  18. But that's my point, any emotional response is emotional. A different word makes no difference.
  19. Indeed +1, Different words maybe, but fundamentally, emotions are the same.
  20. Indeed you did, because you were lucky enough to be born in America and with few barriers to the shipping lanes of luck (and America is so very close already); access to the highway of luck is limited for the majority of your countrymen, so they almost never see a truck of luck (let alone get close enough to get hit by it) on the dirt track of their life (their version of the lottery is to be hit by a donkey of luck). You demand your luck is not lucky at all But solely due to your own endeavor; that's very disrespectful to your ancestors who worked harder than you, risked much more than you and even sacrificed themselves, just for you, and their fellow Americans, have some respect, for your forefathers and your fellows (as they did, on the whole).
  21. Couldn't care less, can't imagine anyone else does either; so please, less trolling more interesting... so, pretty please with knobs on, write the OT f%$£ post.
  22. I'm completely indifferent to your threats, I just like a good debate so I'm keen to read a post from you that's on topic.
