  1. Were there nuclear tips on the missiles Cuba launched in this scenario? Or were they non nuclear kinetics?

Depends on the platform. For those listed, the answer was embedded above

More on the vibes vs facts and news sources being predictor of voter behavior. Source: Pew Research Center; Graph and commentary from Axios “Conservatives have a significant advantage among news influencers — a major part of the trickle-down information ecosystem. Influencers on most of the biggest platforms are more likely to lean right than left, Axios Communicators author Eleanor Hawkins writes from new Pew data. Male influencers also outnumber women on those platforms, by almost a 2-1 margin.”
  4. Surely one of sufficient yield would suffice

This whole annoying series of exchanges could’ve been avoided had you simply said some or even many voters are XYZ instead of painting everyone with the same wide wrong brush
  6. I’m just reminding us that there are steps available between physical violence and passive acceptance
  7. Mercury poisoning and brain worms will tend to do that to a person.

I'm saying it's both. Unsure what you're saying. Which... what, exactly?

I see it more as both/and rather than either/or
  10. It didn't exactly add anything to the conversation anyway. Is likely a system penetration and response test of some sort: "What kind of genius could come up with such a brilliant idea, exploring the entire universe with just a brain in an age when people only had eyes?"
  11. If it hasn’t happened already, the more likely outcome is simply that the report gets leaked and published for full view by all by all of the various media outlets, especially since:
  12. Which brings us back to our exchange about getting news from NPR versus TikTok and X. Those getting information from the latter overwhelmingly voted Trump whereas those getting news from traditional sources overwhelmingly went Harris. ✌️
  13. Part of it too is likely to get these obvious boneheads rejected primarily so their far more dangerous sleeper choices will get approved as seemingly saner fallbacks. Part of Putins playbook for decades and aligns with the rise of strongmen authoritarians globally See also the wedge strategy used to combat claims cigarettes cause cancer then used with great effectiveness by oil companies in context of climate change denial.
  14. There are numerous steps in between passive acceptance and violent overthrow. We can discuss whether they’re sufficient or likely to succeed, but violence must IMO be a last resort. Even when such a path is chosen, it’s better used only when one has a good chance to realize the desired change through said violence. Given the correlation between gun ownership and voting tendencies, the scale on this one is unbalanced and seems rather lopsided.

Fair. I was suggesting TikTok, X, and all the like being the Soma in this instance. Our algorithms are our dopamine pushing drugs ruining our ability in aggregate to critically think or pay attention for extended periods. We’re rats tapping the lever for cocaine.

It’s just easier now. For example, if they wish to allow Trump to serve more than 2 terms.

Don’t forget the state houses around the country where they also now hold a sizable majority and could potentially leverage it to amend the constitution

Perhaps closer to the drug Soma in Aldous Huxley's BNW

For all the handwringing around democrats being too woke or caring too much about transgendered kids etc, 538 said today on a podcast that Harris performed better than any other incumbent party has performed in other elections around the globe. The message being that, while other variables were at play, anti incumbency in the face of an inflationary economy is the primary forcing agent explaining the outcome we saw.
