Spooky experiences
No, because I already have one. It’s the executive and narrative creation portions of our brain attempting to make sense of ambiguous stimuli from multiple different sources, and seeking a way to align novel experiences with previously experienced past ones. Like a dream, our description of the experience need not make rational sense as an explanation. The explanation need only be comforting and even vaguely soothing. For many, ephemeral ideas of spirituality bring that comfort. For me, having a basic understanding of neurobiology and neurochemistry offers that comfort. Either way, the view we each take of the experience itself is driven by our own innate desire for comfort.

Is food dropped on the floor safe after being cooked long enough and/or at high enough temperatures?
It depends on how dirty your floor is, and dirty with what Humans have been eating rotting food for centuries. We often even rot food on purpose to make it taste better. I imagine you'll be fine.

War Games: Russia Takes Ukraine, China Takes Taiwan. US Response?
Oh, phew. What a relief. I guess this thread can be closed then, but before that happens, will you please also share with me next week's lotto numbers and who will win the Indy 500 in 2026 so I may place a handsome bet?

Darwin was only half right. EVERY animal evolved into the human being, not just the ape
Because details don’t generally matter to those caught in a god fog

Are Indian immigrants bad for America? Melting pot vs caste system?
One can accept that simplistic descriptors like melting pot have a useful place in discussion and that the caste system in India drives many social dynamics, but it’s nonsequitur to jump from that into a gross and seemingly biased generalization that Indian immigrants are bad for America.

I do not think that word means what you think it means. Your conclusion is based on stereotypes and has no place here.

This is more blather than biology Also, the parts that aren’t blather are simply wrongheaded

The COVID-19 vaccine and new emerging strains...does each new strain not call for a new vaccine?
Maybe you missed the item John posted 2 hours ago, two posts before this comment you've made here?

War Games: Russia Takes Ukraine, China Takes Taiwan. US Response?
Shocker. This was false. Since making this assertion, Russia has actually brought in 7,000 MORE troops near Ukraine bringing the total well over 150,000, added armored vehicles, helicopters, and field hospitals. Satellite imagery also confirms Russia has established a new military pontoon bridge over the Pripyat River in Belarus, less than 4 miles from the Ukraine border.

Try studying evolution. No conspiracy needed.

Should NHS Staff in the UK Face Mandatory Vaccination?
He’s suggesting we can’t possibly know it’s safe until latest phase of trials ends in 2023. He’s repeating this despite correction earlier in the thread about how phases work

Sex Machines
TBH, I have no idea what this thread is about, even though I'm fairly expert myself.

Should NHS Staff in the UK Face Mandatory Vaccination?
It’s even worse… the very people there to help and heal those cancer patients are the ones refusing to vaccinate / demanding that their caricature of personal freedom trumps the right of their patients not to get infected by them.

Should NHS Staff in the UK Face Mandatory Vaccination?
My kids and sick parents can’t catch your cancer. Children under 5 aren’t even eligible yet, so no. Not vaxxed. Pot. Kettle. Black.

Should NHS Staff in the UK Face Mandatory Vaccination?
Six MILLION people dead, and still counting Yeah, fuck all those unhealthy people and at risk children. They’re free to find other work if the requirements of the job they’re in feel too burdensome, and that’s before we even consider the burden they’re placing on vulnerable patients. You need repeating this invalid claim despite repeated correction. Why is that?

Should NHS Staff in the UK Face Mandatory Vaccination?
This isn’t really true, but it is irrelevant to the thread.

Should NHS Staff in the UK Face Mandatory Vaccination?
Perhaps you haven’t noticed, but you can’t send your kid to school with chicken pox, or go barefoot in a restaurant, or take a dump on public sidewalks either. Your entire life has been a trade-off between public health and individual freedom and the precedent you seem to fear so much was actually set long ago and has been repeatedly upheld over the decades when challenged in courts.

You're doing a fair bit more than that, actually. Don't let the door hit you on the way out.
