  1. Yes, and the committee had already shared the clip in their hearings last week BEFORE you saw it on MotherJones and started this thread. When it got shared again tonight, it wasn’t the first time. MJ got it from the committee, not the other way around. So to repeat… so what? This isn’t a blog and you have yet to raise even a single discussion point… AND there’s already a thread dedicated to the Jan6 hearings.
  2. That was tens of millions of primary voters across the states who did that, not the "Dems."
  3. Just a few short years ago, we used to call them "tabloids" and the people who believed them "morons." Today, we call it "right wing news."
  4. Not mutually exclusive. In reality, it’s both.
  5. Lol. That's not really a technical obstacle, though. I agree it exists, but let's call it a geopolitical / risk vs benefits obstacle.
  6. And yet Russia attacked anyway even when Ukraine avoided joining NATO so as not to provoke the Russian bear. The logic of your position is... unfindable.
  7. They're already enriching uranium to 60% and there are no obvious technical obstacles to them reaching the required 90%. Most indicators suggest they're already quite capable of pretty quickly producing nuclear weapons and have simply chosen not to (thus far). The leverage is not so absent as you suggest, IMO.
  8. Ding!
  9. Murphy's
  10. It sure is a good thing those traits are never rewarded by the electorate. Oh, wait…
  11. It will be interesting to see what steps China plans to take if the US ignores this demand and proceeds with the arms sale to our Taiwanese ally.
  12. They were trying to find and kill her, too, but Iowa Senator Grassley would’ve had the role if Pence were absent (as swansont noted). Yes, the only real question is will he be / how the optics and politics will play out when/if the Justice Dept of a successor President seeks to prosecute a predecessor President after leaving office. 13. If silence is their code, then they shouldn’t have sent texts, and if their code involves deleting texts to hide attempted murders and related crimes, then I suggest their code needs to be updated to something more modern like that used under Hammurabi.

But not to his owners… erm… donors.
  15. I am Good for you, but my core question remains unaddressed. What exactly do you wish to discuss about it? This is a discussion forum, not a blog.

He’s a DINO, but also the only dem that could ever win an election in West Virginia
  17. Double clicking on exchemists post above... what exactly do you wish to discuss here? This is being posted as if it were news, but nothing about it is really new
  18. Explained by physics? No. Explained by psychology? Yes.
  19. The US Secret Service deleted multiple txt messages sent on January 5 and January 6 AFTER they’d been requested by the January 6 probe, and I don’t buy their story that it was an “oopsie” during routine maintenance. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/us-secret-service-deleted-emails-sought-jan-6-probe-watchdog-says-2022-07-15/
  20. This is where DeSantis is such a huge risk. All the Donald Trump without the Keystone Cops... Much more competence and ability from him and his team to execute upon their fascistic visions.
  21. And I call you persistently unable to post relevant on-topic facts. Never mind the man behind the curtain... hey!! Look over there!!!
  22. A less covered impact from the war: https://www.ft.com/content/141a9e85-19ed-47d4-be48-bb9febc76c98 Ukraine’s budget crisis has become acute because of a slump in tax revenues and customs duties since the invasion began almost five months ago together with higher war spending. A halt to grain and steel exports has deprived Kyiv of foreign currency earnings. Ukraine is being forced to burn through its foreign exchange reserves at an accelerating pace, as the central bank purchases government bonds to plug its financing gap. …The finance ministry said its assessment of the gap was still $5bn a month but even that was way more than western capitals had so far provided. …The fiscal strains are showing more broadly. Naftogaz, the state-owned energy company, on Tuesday asked holders of $1.5bn of its bonds to accept a delay in payments as it seeks to preserve cash for purchasing gas. It would amount to the first default by a Ukrainian state entity since the war began.
