For the most part, we’re mostly hairless apes throwing feces at each other. That said, even single celled organisms tend to distinguish between “ouch” and “not ouch” or between “food” and “not food” and likewise between dark and light or hot and cold. Life and chemistry itself seem to be classifying and reacting machines. The categories and distinctions really aren’t the problem though, IMO. It’s how we respond and react to them that matters. For example in another currently relevant context, do we treat trans kids as subhuman scary predators here to slice away the innocence of your own children, or just a different kind of human still deserving of the same love, respect, and protection as everyone else… It’s okay to recognize real differences from the mean, but not okay turning that into a permission structure for BEING mean.- Florida textbook bans
Lol. You and me, both. I had to fire up Netscape to search those names on AltaVista.- Florida textbook bans
I also have been recollecting the split between east and west Germany given the recent experiences across the US. Feels a lot like that, at least the mindsets. The right like to use the phrase “national divorce” because it sounds more palatable than “civil war” or secession, but don’t seem to realize just how very much red states rely on blue states to fund them. Twitter, WhatsApp, TikTok, and related others even more so. Couldn’t agree more with all of this, but it’s also turning into legislation. A bill to ban transgender people from the bathroom most closely aligned with their identity is now on my governors desk awaiting signature (if not signed already).- Florida textbook bans
Indeed, but it sure whips up the base who actually show up to cast their ballots on Election Day. It’s a type of tribal signaling trying to simplify everything down into simple digestible concepts like “them bad” and “us good.” It plays on and plays up people’s fears about non-binary sexuality instead of extinguishing those anxieties through exposure to kind neighbors who identify as such.- Florida textbook bans
Their guidelines are likely rather simple: Ban the books published by competitors of other book publishers who contribute the more to the DeSantis SuperPAC. Fluffing the profits of megadonors is generally a safe bet / parsimonious explanation when we see these woke smokescreens being fanned.- Onion intolerance ?
Consider also soaking in buttermilk instead of water- State judicial decisions mandated nationally.
Extremely common in Texas where governor Greg Abbotts Attorney General, Ken Paxton, knows exactly where to bring a case to get the desired red meat outcome for the base. Happens more commonly with blocking immigration policy, but is a core part of their playbook. Might be easier to think of it as a federal case from the start, just one that was initiated by the head lawyer (think you call them Solicitors, or solicitor general in this context) of an individual state and filed against the US federal government itself.- Vigilante post graveyard

I have not, but it seems to be a hexagon cut in half. Bottom half used as a tray to receive a full hexagon slice inserted into it for the hive activity.- is it good or bad to clean something made of kind of wood?
Indeed, it can. Though there’s also tabletop epoxy, deep pour epoxy, the need to use a gas torch or heat gun to remove bubbles, it’s extremely fickle and temperamental when mixing, requires specific humidity and temperature conditions for proper curing, and it’s probably a more advanced process than the OP is ready to attempt given other info we have (also can look plastic-ey)- Woodworking: Amateurs, Craftsmen, & In-Between
Maybe if I hit the lottery. https://lagunatools.com/cnc/fiber-lasers/- Woodworking: Amateurs, Craftsmen, & In-Between
Indeed, though simpler would be mortise and tenon connections with square/rectangular dimensioned stock, then round over the corners and edges with a router and some sandpaper. Could use dowels or biscuits instead if not comfortable cutting own mortise and tenons. Similar connection- Do fish dance?

Well, except for those bits where they used a magnet, an angle grinder, and a welder. Lol I also don’t often work with large diameter dowel stock, though totally appreciate how cleanly constructed that corner joint was ✌🏼- is it good or bad to clean something made of kind of wood?
Smacking the face means board feel matters here. After sanding to 220 or 300, I’d apply some satin sheen hard wax oil. If, however, it was a very porous wood, I’d first do a skim coat with Timbermate to close the textured pores. Once done, a French style polish with paste wax. That should feel like butter when smacking the nose/forehead and all without making it look plastic-ey 🪵 😍- Do fish dance?
Lol. Nice^ What got me thinking about this topic was how rhythms and movement are everywhere... our heartbeat, our circadian rhythms, the day night cycle, the phases of the moon... we feel/hear within the mothers womb... the swooshing and flowing of her movements and her rhythms... it's everywhere. And I realized, this is common across animal species, and likely fish too... these cycles and movements and waves... we upon hearing and feeling these waves often dance to them, enjoy music as another type of wave. We even seek out music based on our mood, and our moods change when listening to different music or sounds. So, why not fish too? We're not THAT different in this context, after all. And this thread seems to have confirmed that, even if only a bit.- is it good or bad to clean something made of kind of wood?
Your point is clearly correct. I was imprecise with mine. Thanks for bringing this clarity. As Phi highlighted already, the answer depends on what it will be used for... under what conditions... will it be hung on a wall and left alone, or will it be used as a bar top with glass bottles and keys and plates of food smashing against it hour after hour day after day? Will it be used as a spoon in hot cooking liquids, or will it be supporting the 2nd story of a house? Will it be in direct sunlight where UV protection is an issue, or in a dark drawer or closet somewhere? You seem to want to keep this private, which is fine, but if you want a better answer then I'll need you to please ask a better question. I have some experience here and would like to help you.- is it good or bad to clean something made of kind of wood?
That’s a very big question. What will it be used for? Under what conditions?- Boeing Engineers Shatter Guinness Paper Airplane Record
Doesn’t this apply equally to all folded paper airplanes?- is it good or bad to clean something made of kind of wood?
Any liquid penetration into unfinished wood surfaces, whether pure water or chemicals of various sorts, will speed deterioration. Wood can last a very long time if properly stored and with air circulating equally across all sides, but even minor differences in humidity on the sides (like if one side is pressed against something while the opposite side is exposed) will lead to more rapid cupping and warping. Instead of worrying about how to clean untreated wood, recommend instead you wipe it with some quickly evaporating mineral spirits and apply a quality finish to protect it if the piece is important to you. There are film finishes like poly, hardening oil based finishes, hard wax oils, e even just an annual application of paste wax would be better than nothing and leaving wood raw.- Boeing Engineers Shatter Guinness Paper Airplane Record
