  4. "As Slow as Possible" by the late John Cage ) https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-54041568 What is not widely known is that he penned this piece in collaboration with Gordon Sumner.

Anyone have a copy of Pelosi's bedside prayers for the well being of Trump?
  6. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-us-canada-53129524 “Donald Trump: TikTok users and K-pop fans said to be behind poor Tulsa turnout” They done good ....but I wonder how many willing(and harmful) marks would have actually shown up?
  7. I keep thinking that this may be classed as an act of terrorism. I wonder if in the mind of the murderer that he may have been mostly concerned with the effect this was having on those watching the act. Was this an act of propaganda along the lines of "Jews will not replace us"? This act was so callous and extraordinary that some understanding of the motive of the actor is required. This was not a lazy action but something fuelled it and I fear and suspect that it may have been political. I imagine the former police officers' computer hard drives and devices will be searched and evidence of links to political groups may show up. I wonder how common such acts are in society and whether it is the prevalence of video recorders in the hands of the public that is bringing to light crimes that were previously hidden.
  8. Yes ,I realized after I posted that "die" might be the wrong word. I think that you put it right,it is when it's reproductive /infective mechanism is sufficiently degraded (as far as I know, anyway) No idea how they might determine that but I think they they say that soap destroys its lipid exterior structure ,so it might be something similar that which occurs when a virus is left in an inhospitable (for it) environment.
  9. I think I may have seen something like that estimated figure too. The only time I have read of instances of single virus particles was when a sample on a surface had died out in hours or days with presumably one virion being the last to die. Well, there was also theoretical talk of how small a sample could be to infect the entire human population if each person was allocated one virion apiece.(extremely small)
  10. These invariant intervals ,can it be usefully said that they are not subject to any uncertainty in their measurements? If we picture them as"sticks" ,do they follow spacetime curvature? And they never "touch"? Would there be such a thing as relations between individual "sticks" (only "degrees of separation",perhaps ?)
  11. very interesting.Does that viewpoint apply to both SR and GR? Looked at differently*, is it possible (in the model) to abstract space from spacetime by using regions of spacetime where t equals a constant.? When we look out at the night sky is the picture we see such a slice of spacetime ? ( a frozen point in spacetime) * a different point ,actually(I think Markus touched on it it in his earlier post when he said "Space on its own would then be just the spatial part of that network" ) https://www.scienceforums.net/topic/89395-what-is-space-made-of/?do=findComment&comment=1124830

I learned in the last couple of days that Fizeau demonstrated the addition of velocities in 1851 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fizeau_experiment and that it gave a stimulus to Einstein in formulating Special Relativity. Also learned why he called it "Special " (it only applies to uniformly translating frames of reference) Thanks for the book reccomendation Studiot.
  13. I am completely unfamiliar with NLP. I was just trying to respond to Inow's request for some kind of a definition for the OP's "bad boy" If it is a workable definition ,then perhaps it needs exploring. Otherwise what is the point?
  14. A bad boy = someone willing and able to ignore conventional behaviour (whilst understanding where the line is drawn)? And do men unconsciously look for women who display the opposite trait?
  15. Holy mother of Buddha, don't listen to Maya https://www.ramakrishnavivekananda.info/vivekananda/volume_2/jnana-yoga/maya_and_illusion.htm "Maya, Maya, all this world is but a play Be thou the joyful player" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SCRVkyt74Ig&list=RDSCRVkyt74Ig&start_radio=1
  16. That is a base accusation.
  17. Yes I see.
  18. Not directly but the "operator" of the clock could add that info ,could he or she not? (and thus synchronize the two clocks) Not sure what your "what post did I reply to?" is getting at.... but no I don't think you replied to any of my posts in this thread. I did "cut across" your conversation with Taingorz though.
  19. I thought it did when account was taken of relative movement and gravitational effects....(we are saying the same thing in different ways?)
