  1. I would rather have the water. Now getting back to the OP question, the reason that we won't build pipelines from the eastern US to the west is the cost.
  2. It would cost to much money to transport water through pipelines.
  3. The answer is quite simply, money.
  4. My family was on a walk through the woods with another family when I spotted a copperhead (a type of pit viper) so I caught it and showed the kids how to identify pit viper and the dangers of being bitten. I opened its mouth and showed them it's fangs which made a scary impression on them. When my wife caught up to us and saw the snake she was not amused, the other family and all the kids were quite interested though. Snakes are surprisingly docile creatures. If you gently hold a 5 ft long black snake (a non poisonous snake) by the head for a few minutes it will usually relax and it will not try to bite you anymore and will crawl around on you like pet. I can't think of another animal you could do that with. I would never attempt to pick up even a mouse without protective gloves
  5. I have never had that fear of spiders or snakes. My wife is deathly afraid of snakes. My phobia is sharks which my wife thinks is a riot. Every time I'm in the ocean I just know a shark is homing in on me, and she just rolls her eyes and swims out to deeper water [shudder].
  6. It won't. There is no exact value for Pi.
  7. I find it quite believable and quite unremarkable.
  8. Probably this is because you cannot get DNA from hair. There needs to be a hair follicle attached to th hair to get DNA. So hair submitted with no hair follicles will come back as unknown.
  9. Why are you yelling? The setup that you have shown should be very easy to make. I assume you have not made it though, since you would know it won't work. I also assume you have no math to support your idea so you should build the setup to prove to yourself that it won't work.
  10. If you do it too much I heard that you will go blind! So be careful!
  11. Is it your proposal that if you confine a series of bar together a magnet placed on top of the series will move down the length of series of magnets?
  12. Neither one of those equations was by Einstein. No physicist came up with E = m. your claim that mass approximately equals frequency makes no sense that I can see.
  13. I don't see that.
  14. That was pretty damn funny.
  15. I always found this line interesting. According to the bible God created people to be stupid. You know, like horse or aardvark stupid. When we became intelligent he got pissed off! The goal apparently was to make morons that wandered around in a garden. Well that didn't work out as planned...
  16. I can do all of those things. I assume everyone can. The reason you cannot get a video of your shaky eyes is because the movement is to small, it just seems like a lot from the inside. Have friend look at your eyes when you do that and he will confirm your eyes are vibrating.
  17. Both of those groups were supplied heavy weapons from governments and arms dealers. I never said there would not be terrorists, there always have been and always will be. The military would sweep away any meaningful resistance in short order. If we wanted to stop Al-Qaeda and or ISS in a country (say Iraq) it would not be difficult. For goodness sake no foreign terrorist been able pull off any significant attack on the USA in 17 years.
  18. If every person in the US had an AK-47 the army could still come in an confiscate the guns (or pry them out of their cold dead hands) and there isn't a damn thing the public could do to stop it. The military has tanks, jets, ships and bombs, it is absurd to believe a bunch of clowns with guns are going to stop a determined government. Mass protests would do 10x (unevidenced estimation) the good that an armed resistance could.
  19. Aliens from another universe created an AI and this AI created our universe and everything in it. My flight of fancy has exactly the same amount of evidence as your conjecture. My point is, in a scientific discussion bringing in the supernatural is nugatory. PS: Thank you for giving me the opportunity to use the word nugatory.
