  1. Some one told me that if you were a 5th dimensional being, you could go back and forwards in time. If you were a 6th dimensional being, you could go backwards and forwards in time, and go to parallel universes. That is what I meant. I don't know:, here is a link to the idea: https://blogs.oracle.com/bblfish/entry/the_10_dimensions_of_reality
  2. So I was looking through the course catalog for my school. I am taking Earth/Space Science as of now. These are the courses: Biology Chemistry Physics I Physics II Advanced Biology Advanced Chem Human Anatomy and Physiology I don't think I want to do Biology, I feel that I am not going to need it, and the same with Human Anatomy. I would like some people to tell me if I should though, if it offers a good foundation or anything. Also, I am powering through math right now, and might be taking Pre-Cac next year, or possibly AP Calculus if I decide that I don't want to have a summer . Is there a Calculus II, or what higher levels of math are there? Last thing, is there any other courses, like Economics that I should take? Thanks Joshua
  3. So that being said, could you explain to me how the extra dimensions worked. 0 dimensional point in ? 1 dimensional two points connected 2 dimensional lines connected to form a plane 3 dimensional plans rotated to form space? 4 dimensional time? Then I have no clue
  4. Sunday School Little Mary was not the best student in Sunday School. Usually she slept through the class. One day the teacher called on her while she was napping, ''Tell me, Mary, who created the universe?'' When Mary didn't stir, little Johnny, an altruistic boy seated in the chair behind her, took a pin and jabbed her in the rear. ''God Almighty !'' shouted Mary and the teacher said, ''Very good'' and Mary fell back to sleep. A while later the teacher asked Mary, ''Who is our Lord and Savior?'' But Mary didn't even stir from her slumber. Once again, Johnny came to the rescue and stuck her again. ''Jesus Christ!'' shouted Mary and the teacher said, ''Very good,'' and Mary fell back to sleep. Then the teacher asked Mary a third question, ''What did Eve say to Adam after she had her twenty-third child?'' And again, Johnny jabbed her with the pin. This time Mary jumped up and shouted, ''If you stick that damn thing in me one more time, I'll break it in half!'' The Teacher fainted.
  5. I read Brian Greene's book, The Elegant Universe. It said that in String Theory there were 10 dimensions, and in M-Theory there were 11. How can you explain that. I understand almost up to dimension six. And how would you draw or think about a 11 dimensional universe? Thanks, Joshua
  6. Love is an emotion, it has nothing to do with faith or anything else. I don't need to believe in your god to have a connection to the emotional part of my brain. You can anger a scientist, so why do you say: Regards.
  7. 1- Can the genes be altered through a human's life or are they immutable from the beginning till death ? Yes, genes naturally change throughout a humans life. That doesn't mean that your eye color will change... Also, get exposed to mass amounts of radiation, and see what your kids or grand kids look like. 2- At what scale is it already possible to alter human genes ? This is a two sided question. We can alter human genes. But not while you are alive at this point in time. Like I said, you can't change your eye color. What you could do, is get a sperm, change it's genes(you can do that with an egg), and you could make it more likely that a baby about to be born has a certain eye color, or hair color. It's still a 50/50 chance, and it hasn't been perfected. This of course raises a lot of ethics questions... 3- How Does altering human genes work, is it very simple or a long operation and how much time do the first results expected from gene manipulation start to show up ? I am not an expert, but I would assume it would take a long time. There is also things that altering genes can do, and the changes can be very rapid. What I am referring to is called cancer. 4- If the genes in a human being are replicated millions of times in every cell, how does one modify genes, does he modify only one piece of DNA or does he have to modify every piece of dna of the human body, or is there a part of the body that is the core dna which the body uses to replicate DNA and regenerate cells ? See point one and two. We cannot change the genes once there is millions of them in the body. We can alter genes by altering the sperm or eggs data that it carries. 5- When approximately will gene alteration for humans will be available and at what scale and at approximately what price ? Will it be affordable or cost millions of dollars at first, how fast will the market of gene modification will evolve and be popularized with a low-cost for the population, is it gonna be a 50 years term, or something like 15 years since the first commercialization ? I don't really think this practice will catch on, due to the ethics of it. I don't have any of the numbers, but I know it can be done at this time.
  8. I agree with this. With North Korea, they still in touch with the primitive self. Also, they are using their leader, as a metaphorical way to have a god, without having one. This, in a sense is kind of like what the Egyptians did, with their pharaohs. I guess that any god is a metaphor to something, like how the Greeks and Romans used Zeus for lightning, est. I feel like this is also were religion gets all screwy. Most of the books, id est Bible among others, would say that man was created for the universe. Now if we were to find intelligent life, we would have to ditch all religions, because I highly doubt that the green martians are worshiping an old bearded man, and a guy that was nailed to a cross. Then they would say that those people are metaphors, and religion would evolve, like it did when we found out that Venus had phases or that the Earth was not flat. I have no clue about religion, and sometimes can's discuss it, so thats why I go to politics. Regards

  16. Hello, my parents are going to get me a nexus 7 or 10, for my birthday, but I need to keep a schedule. I have tried to do it for almost half a year now, but I have failed. Maybe some people could convince me good reasons why I should have one, other than you need to fill out a time sheet for your employer. I should of gotten the Nexus this Christmas, but I didn't do a schedule, and if I did one over last summer vacation I also would of gotten one. Please help me, I feel like I can't do it, but I need to!!! I need to have two schedules, one that is a projected, what my day is going to be, and the other is going to be I write down my stuff as I do it. What are the advantages of having one? How could I keep one? I fight with my parents all the time about this, and I am convinced that it is a waste of time. Please nobody agree with me and solidify my opinion. Thanks
  17. Hello peoples, I am getting back into programming(For Arduino) , and I need a new computer. The one that I am using can barely run the Eclipse SDK. It is fine when I use the Ardunio SDK, or Processing, but when I am programming the Arduino board, I am going to be using C++, not the modified Java that Arduino uses, although I am going to learn it. Right now, I am learning processing, a dumbed down version of Java, then I am going to learn real Java. I need Java so I can make an Android app to control the “robot”. And yes, I am getting a Nexus 7(or if parents are happy, a Nexus 10), and that is an Android tablet for my birthday, if I do a schedule. Therefor, they aren’t getting me a new computer, because they are getting me that. So any ideas for computers? I would prefer a laptop, for I plan on getting a desktop this summer. And any ideas for money? I am tutoring my sister, and if she gets an A in Math, then I get $50, plus $20 dollars for every A, (for a total of six possible A's), 25 for every A+, and Christmas and birthday money. I need the money for both the Arduino board and laptop. My dad said that he would get me the Arduino for my birthday if I wanted, but I don't think I can wait that long, plus I need the Laptop. Thankyou, and I will keep a running log of my Programming that I am learning on my blog. Edit, the laptop will not spend more than $500 on, it needs four gigs, and a harddrive over 350GB. Needs to be fast enough to run Blender and Unity, and Gimp(3-d Modeling and Game making Program, Free Photoshop), and Minecraft with no lag Seriously though, I don't want to settle. It would be awesome if I could upgrade it to 8 gb of ram.
  18. I have a subscription to Popular Science already
  19. Why don't you use a browser that is not IE. IE takes up a lot of RAM, and if you switched then your computer would also run faster. If you like IE, just keep using 10 until they make a better version...

  24. Sorry for what I wrote before, but I stand by that, but of course I could of written it differently. I also think that you should stop going on about IQ. In this world, no one cares about IQ. People care about how good you work. You could have the of IQ of 150, but if you were a lazy slob, were would you get in life. Have your kids have a hard work effort. And also when I said, I meant that if you want to be smart, become smart. I find it wrong that you want to live through your children's intelligence. You are making it out like everyone has to be intelligent; but you must remember, we need those people to drive the trash trucks, or work at the supermarket. If everyone was super intelligent, no real work would get done, and what I mean by real work is surviving. Also, you should correct your typo, the irony was sickening... Stephen Hawking once said,
