  2. https://www.google.com/search?q=which+router+have+poe "Do any routers have PoE? Most routers will not support PoE. PoE is fairly rare in consumer-level products and not even a given on more expensive stuff, so I would always expect it to be called out explicitly. If you don't see it, it doesn't have it."
  3. ..which still needs an external power source i.e. a wire or powerbank, a solar powerbank, or a solar panel alone.. That's a great price £43 for 305m Cat5E (which is still Gigabit), and £64 for 305m Cat6 with higher frequency.
  4. A beginner should get a ball-n-stick model for visualization in 3D compounds.
  5. 20 years ago, I used to buy an RJ45 cable for £0.2 per meter and that was the regular price at a time.. It's doubtful that it has dropped.. 173 GBP/305m is 0.57 GBP per meter. You know what electronics and computer shops you have in UK. Check them. The cheapest option, which does not require a large investment if you have any old smartphone, is to buy a 2nd SIM card for it and enable tethering via USB.
  6. 305m RJ45 ethernet cable cost here 173 GBP https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/ethernet-cable/0557470
  7. Is your goal to network your garden with your house (and have free intranet transmission) ? Or to have any internet in the garden regardless of whether it is from the house or not? A regular router can be configured for extended range mode, and put in the middle with some energy source. If one is not enough, a couple of them.. https://www.google.com/search?q=extended+range+modem+router (pay attention to whether router has built-in antenna (cheap router) or on screw -> external antenna (>50 USD) can significantly extend range of the router) (expensive routers can have multiple antennas/screws) You can buy a second LTE/5G SIM card for your phone.. (old phone connected by USB with desktop PC computer delivering Internet) It can also be plugged to a LTE/5G modem, which will be connected via USB to a computer and/or router. WiFi USB cards are cheap. 5-10 USD. 3G/4G/5G modem USB cards are for 35-60 USD. There are also PCI modems for desktops. Mutually exclusive expectations.. Too little data. Depends on your home WiFi speed. If you have less than 480 Mbps, modem with LTE SIM card plugged directly to PC might be the fastest option, as long as mobile operator will deliver enough.. I have problems with 15m range due to obstacles in the apartment.. and you want 260m - no mention of obstacles.. With what bandwidth? Counted in kbps? Mbps?
  8. The topic of discussion was constrain only to "Is electric wallpaper the way forward?".. ..which is not a very well-defined topic of discussion.. But since you're not interested in my input, I'll stop..
  9. You don't know enough about building insulated fireproof buildings because you're too lazy by too much temperatures in the winter.. https://www.google.com/search?q=fireproof+styrofoam+insulation Heating and proper insulation are the same subject. One relies on the other.. Where? "Is electric wallpaper a way forward ?" What does "a way forward" mean? i.e. what do you want to gain..
  10. ..I don't think I'm making any riddles in this thread.. All I said was that Brits who want to pay lower energy bills should properly insulate their homes in the first place..
  11. You insulate your house against heat leakage from the outside (e.g. what is visible by taking photo), not from the inside. Otherwise, please instruct us how the British prevent heat leakage from their homes? Not really. You're talking about a completely different topic at the moment. If you expect the average minimum temperature in "winter" to be -20 C, you prepare your homes and industries differently than if you expect the average minimum temperature to be 0 C or +20 C. Are homes in Hawaii prepared for subzero temperatures?
  12. If the North Atlantic Current is stopped, you will have no choice to properly insulate your homes too. In British houses I see only bricks.. doubtful that it is a layer of bricks with a 10-20+ cm layer of air with another inner layer of bricks. Oh wait, you are totally unprepared for this. Bummer. Today the temperatures are -10 C at night, -5 C during the day and this is the equivalent of your UK +5.. +10 C It will be -22 C, for two weeks, according to news media..
  13. We use Styrofoam to prevent heat leakage from our homes. To find out where the heat leak is, use an IR camera.
  14. It worked. They gave up attacking Kiev, Kharkov, Kherson because of inability to deliver ammunition fast enough..
  15. Massless = has no frame of reference in which the particle is at rest. Mass = has a rest-mass = has a frame of reference in which the particle is at rest (and the measurements can be done on it).
  16. 43+52=95, so you meant Tc-95, right? https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isotopes_of_technetium 95Tc 43 52 94.907657(6) 20.0(1) h β+ 95Mo 9/2+ Its half-life is 20 hours..
  17. Not really. It works if the leader doesn't care about the lives of the people of his country and has a large number of spare people.. Ammunition (of people on the front line of battle) is not infinite (just like people). Empty weapons and soldiers will surrender, die or retreat.. Superior weaponry requires years of training of soldiers.. Airplane pilots, helicopter pilots, rocket and missile battery operators.. They die within seconds, but a new one does not come so easily.. What is needed to make ammunition? e.g. NH4NO3 Therefore, the agricultural industry can easily be transformed into the production of ammunition for war. It should be destroyed to stop them from producing ammunition. https://www.google.com/search?q=russian+production+of+fertilizers+statistics (lower availability of fertilizer also increases global food prices)

  19. A prisoner of war captured by Ukrainian soldiers, who was a Russian prisoner who was sent to fight with/in Ukraine, said that in his group of 1,000 people, 20 survived, and he is one of the lucky ones..
  20. A local general on the situation in Ukraine: ..So.. to prevent an attack, those in Russia (including those against their fellow mass-murderer V.P.), should "take care" of the rails..
  21. ..dunno what could be humorous about this subject.. Do you have any idea how little difference we are talking about? If one proton has a mass/energy-equivalent of nearly 1 GeV/c^2 (~938.272 MeV/c^2), then the energy to fully ionize it is 13.6 eV (i.e. makes plasma from a Hydrogen gas like on the Sun). That is, it is ~ 69 million times less. Chemical reactions release much lower energies per atom/molecule.. If the reaction releases 1 eV of energy, and the mass of the molecule is 20-50 GeV, this is 20-50 billion times less.. Mass "loss" is 1 eV/c^2..
  22. You haven't heard, because it's just plain stupid. Aircraft are designed to fly at an altitude of 10 km and speed of 900 km/h. They are almost airtight (cockpit dehermetization is one of the most common ways of disaster). Aircraft are designed to have a streamlined shape to minimize air resistance (to minimize fuel usage). At an altitude of 10 km it is -50 C and a fraction of the pressure of sea level, so after one flight your plants would freeze to death.
  23. Nowadays people start simulation in AutoCAD and similar CAD programs before they build anything physically.. When the simulation goes OK, they build a small model, if everything is OK, they build a larger size.. Waves can interfere and "attack" more than one would expect in some areas. To fight with it, you can try the same techniques as with sound waves e.g. an anechoic room. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anechoic_chamber
  24. Who said the human eye destroys quantum mechanics? If you saw the double slit experiment, once in your life, you would have seen the interference pattern on the screen.. so your personal observation did not "destroy" it..
  25. Sigh.. Run-length encoding is job that can be done by layman in programming within one day. Huffman's algorithm is job that can be done by layman in programming within one week. By layman = someone who has never programmed before.
