  1. Try this one: Japanese brain aging test. Use the stopwatch.
  2. Net: "Tiny cracks in your nose's membranes can injure these blood vessels, making blood gush from your nose at what seems like random times." "if you get nosebleeds a lot, there may be a reason you can pinpoint: Dry climates or dry, heated air that dries out the inside of your nose." "If you come into contact with an allergen, your body releases histamine which causes the classic symptoms of an allergic reaction. If any of the blood vessels in your nose become over dilated, as a result of persistent histamine production, this can cause tissue fragility than easily leads to a nose bleed." https://www.google.com/search?q=nosebleed+spontaneous
  3. ..can't you see the faces in these pictures? Don Kichot picture has more than 20 faces.. Birds are eyes, noses and lips.. This is thread about pattern recognition by the brain. A pretty good bit of science.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pattern_recognition_(psychology)#Facial_pattern_recognition
  4. Good to have the source code Backup. To restart. The gamma ray is red-shifted in one reference system and blue-shifted in the other..
  5. Only what is known for sure is that photons emitted in the distant past are redshifted i.e. have much lower energies/frequencies than in modern times.
  6. Epoxy resin can be used both for gap filling (if any) and for a protective layer.
  7. Build it. It can be done this week. Creality Ender 3 new one costs $220 on eBay. https://www.google.com/search?q=Creality+Ender+3+ebay How do you turn it into a laser engraving or wood engraving machine? Design connector in 3D app or download ready project for free. Plug laser with enough power on the connector and have it controlled through hotend fan wire.. It will be on one of sides of existing hotend attached by screws.. You can use any laser this way with enough power. ..or buy ready extension for Creality Ender 3 S1 (but it is for S1, which is for $400) https://www.google.com/search?q=CV-Laser+module+1600mW+for+Creality+Ender-3+S1 It is ~ $80/75 EUR here. You will spend $400 + $80 = $480. Does it require a lottery? But it is a complete replacement of the hotend, so you will not have a 3D printer, unless you replace it back to the original hotend (~ 1 hour loss each time, so it is better to buy 2x Creality Ender 3 and 3 S1, less hassle). Attachable connector is handy. Design one which will hold a mini-drill and you will have a wood engraver. Installation of the said laser module:
  8. ..there are devices that allow you to choose the angle.. But yes, a cheap 3d printer converted to engraving/CNC would require operator assistance at this stage. BTW, my new friend welcomes visitors in the hallway: (over a week of printing.. scale 1:20)
  9. ..or you could buy a 1m x 1m x 1m single piece of wood and then use a 3D printer with an engraving plug to "cut out all the unwanted stuff" Jump to a new level of quality instead of hiding in a cave.. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=cnc+woodworking+3d But the whole point of doing it with metal pipes this way is to have symmetry..
  10. I meant how they were prepared before welding. In the case of wood, you could use glue or sticks inside the dowel, or both. You could cut holes in two dowels and leave "plugs" in the third one, to connect them together.
  11. ..you can also use this method with wood..
  12. It's not clear what the whole thread is about.. A webcam built into the laptop was used to take the picture? or A 3rd party device was used to take a picture and imported into the laptop (and turned out grainy) ? The built-in cameras in laptops are usually of poor quality, so it is recommended to buy Full HD or even better 4K.. and they need light.. Use the free gfx app to fix your problems? Yes. Good light is essential to have good quality picture. LED is not good because it is only a mixture of R, G and B, not the full spectrum. At night, when all the incandescent light bulbs are off, when the only thing giving light is the LED screen of a laptop, you will end up with a grainy picture from laptop's webcam..

..or the cat jumped on the keyboard and pressed enter.... Cat owners know something about it though..
  14. I gave you a picture of how much money people in the world spend on food per person when they cook at home. Does a "westerner" have six times bigger the stomach of anyone else in the world? Looking at these numbers from the point of view of restaurant expenditures, it would look even more terrible for overly rich and obese Westerners.. You seem to be a very simple person, simple minded, if my first comment was worthy of neg by you.. Get your nose out of the den and go out into the world. It reminds me of the Taco Bell/Pizza Hut scene from Demolition Man with Sylvester Stallone and Sandra Bullock, when hungry people tried to get a scrap of food at the same time outside (at the end of scene):
  15. That wouldn't be directed at me, would it? Unsure. You tell me: https://ourworldindata.org/grapher/food-expenditure-per-person-per-year
  16. Did you watch "The Founder" (the rise of McDonald's) ? https://www.imdb.com/title/tt4276820/
  17. ..westerners are truly depraved by wealth..
  18. One of the stages of the Calhoun experiment. https://www.google.com/search?q=calhoun+experiment
  19. Aren't you just bits on my storage? (let me see your code.. koti didn't survive this stage) Where is your vat? Let me see.. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brain_in_a_vat If this makes you laugh, it's not your fault, I just stimulated your brain cells (the one in vat)..
  20. To paraphrase: "how to know the reputation of a scientist?" Because you and many others have repeated the experiments, measurements, equations of the said scientist.. When a scientist discovers something, he/she has to share information on how to repeat his/her observation by others. The observation is repeated over and over again, and therefore generally accepted. A scientist who refuses to explain the methodology is likely to be rejected outright. Like on this site. If you write nonsense you get down-voted, if you write good stuff you get up-voted. But unfortunately there are sections on this forum like Lounge, Politics, Religion, Psychology, etc. where also someone gets up-voted/down-voted that have nothing to do with science..
  21. To exist or not to exist. It is a binary question.
  22. China has banned computer games (limits the age and hours people can use them, for now) to combat people addicted to games.. The question is what path you (i.e., liberal democracy) want to take..
  23. The Earth rotates around an axis.. any attempt to make "direct video" means you will get blurry video with stars looking like this: To prevent this, when the object you want to record is in close range (i.e. in parsecs), the "recording device" must rotate/move accordingly with the Earth's rotation. The farther away you want to record an object, the longer you have to collect photons from it.
  24. It would be more useful if you included the source code of your simulation.. It does not take into account relativistic effects..
  25. Finland is a country where homelessness is a one-year problem. After winter, there are no more homeless people. The U.S. is pathological in thousands of areas.. They wanted to demolish buildings built before the 2009 crisis, from which people were evicted due to their inability to pay loans and rent.. Instead, the banks got the money, not the people they evicted.. In fact, the whole world is pathological in thousands of areas.. The only smart solution is to demolish the whole world and build a new one.. V.P.'s Russia on the other hand, sent them into Ukraine in the first lane of battle.. "No man, no problem" - proclaims an old Russian adage.
