i know it is not possible but theoretically speaking if I put my hang in the Large Hardon Collider and the two particles wizz around and smashed into my hand what would happen? would my hang just explode? would there be a big hole in my hand? or is the collision so small it wont effect my hand at all?

Imagine if there were a very strong string, so long that it extends from the Earth to the Sun, and so strong that pulling it would not cause any change in tension. Light would require a minute to get from Earth to the Sun, but pulling the string would signal the other end instantly! Possible?

Please help me understand the Heisenberg uncertainty principle of quantum mechanics. The principle says that you can't accurately measure both the position and velocity of a particle and the more you know one of them the less you can know the other. But this doesn't make sense to me. Isn't position always relative to the eyes of the observer anyway? Or what does quantum mechanics really mean by position? I have to admit that quantum mechanics is really hard because I'm not very mathematically capable.

The second law of thermodynamics expresses that things tends to go from order to disorder as time progresses. Yet, the evolutionist says that this law must be violated billions of time. On this discussion topic I would like to know (and would like to discuss) 1) What is the reason for disorder (or increase in entropy) according to second law of thermodynamics? 2) How can we apply this second law of thermodynamics to the evolution and cyclic universes? 3) What is the reason for not converting, potential energy into 100% kinetic energy in internal combustion engine?

I tried to prove that distance of image is same as the distance of object in a plane mirror. The image attached is the ray diagram. First of all, I have assumed object and image to be parallel to mirror. First I proved angle TSA = angle TSa Then I have made similar triangle TSA and triangle TSa with AA similarity. So lets say that a person is going closer and closer to the speed of light. Chemical reaction are based upon electrons, and they revolve around the nucleus of an atom. The closer the person is going to the speed of light electrons are going slower relative to the nucleus because electrons cannot go faster than light. And when the person is going the speed of light electrons cannot move in the same direction of motion so the cannot revolve around the nucleus effecting the rate of chemical reactions. My question is this: Say you have a very long stick, that stretched out from your hand to just left of the Sun. The stick is unbreakable and completely straight. You also have unlimited strength. Ultrasound lasers (sasers?) work because the frequency is high enough to keep sound from spreading out much. I was wondering what would happen if two sasers were pointed at the same spot on a rough but non-absorbing surface? Could the interference patterns of two ultrasonic waves create audible sound from a distance?

With most perpetual motion ideas its immediately obvious why it won't work (beyond the fact that it would violate the laws of thermo dynamics). Energy lost to friction for example. . I've been watching a lot of pelicans fly lately and I observe how they barely flap their wings as opposed to other birds flying around the area. Then, between beers, I thought of some kind of helium suit with flexiible wings. The wings, just like birds, would be made of a hollow ultra light metal skeleton. The suit itself would also have various compartments pumped with helium, kind of like how soldiers have pockets all over to distribute the weight. Does anyone think that with something of this type and jumping off a plain it would be possible to just fly around and chillax kind of how pelicans do.
