This is an odd problem I sometimes have that some of you may have as well. Certain nights I am kept from sleep, I know I need to sleep but my mind won't let me, and not for any particular serious problem, not like insomnia or nervousness from facing the next day. No, normally when I'm kept from sleep, it's because I can't stop thinking. If I have had a particularly inspiring day or when I have a eurika day, I can't get to sleep for atleast two hours after I want to. My brain is riddled with thoughts and concepts, for instance, when I thought of a couple experimental designs for aircraft, I was thinking about them and how they would/could work in the real world. Or…

Hi everyone! I have just started a new project, a UA detector - it detects information about your computer using the User-agent strings transmmitted by your browser to a web page. If anyone would care to help test please visit the link below, check the displayed information is correct. If its not then please let me know what the incorrect results were and what the results should have been along with a copy of the offending UA string Any help in testing would be appreciated, http://standards.spiralmindsinc.com/Projects/UA_Strings/Browser_testing.php Cheers, Ryan Jones

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Isaac_newton At the end of the third paragraph in the above link, it says that Newton voiced a theory on the origin of the stars. Does anyone know what his theory was? I just want to know out of curiosity.

Hi! I currently go to an IB school here in Mexico (well actually I've been there allll my life, since I was 4 ofcourse) and a friend and I were discussing the possibility that before going to college we wanted to know how it felt to be the new student and try to embrace a new culture and learn to adapt to a new environment because otherwise we fear feeling lost and lonely once in college. So the question is if anybody here could recommend me an IB school (not in Mexico obviously) that I could contact to see if my friend and me could go study for a semester next year... thanks!

Doesn't have to be in any particular order, but what are your top 5 favourite TV comedy shows... To date mine are : Brass Eye (Chris Morris taking satire to the extreme.) actually I'm going to have Chris Morris as one choice because 'Jam', and 'Day to Day' are also up there. Family Guy, The Thick of It, Blackadder (I used to love the second series in my younger days.) and The Simpsons.

I live in the US. I make only 1,200 dollars a month (I work in a small company) no health insurance but I own a small 2 bedroom house where I live. I get sick and have to stay 2 weeks in a hospital, then after I get home they charge me 100,000 dollars. I can't pay, can they take my home away from me ? 3 possibilites: 1) I go to jail, but I think US laws says I can't for debt 2) I can make a deal with the hospital and only pay back 2 or 3 thousand dollars by a small monthly sum. 3) they take my house , get posession of my home What do you all think happens ? This has always been a vague situation, does anyone know exactly what happens in these case…

Acetaminophen is in Excedrin, (off brand) equate, and tylenol. They say nothing about side effects yet they kind of make your head go "whooh." And there's sort of a tast when you brethe in your nose and chest, like when you have a cold. I don't know how to explain it but it messes w/ your head. Most websites say "When used appropriately, side effects are rare." One website says "Acetaminophen relieves pain by elevating the pain threshold, that is, by requiring a greater amount of pain to develop before it is felt by a person." Maybe that's why it gives you a simi lightheaded feeling. Overdosing is supposed to cause liver desies but I'm not on any medication.…

Hey, I recently became interested in Magnets and decided to look upon some videos. I found this one: http://www.metacafe.com/watch/55826/who_can_explain_this and I was wondering how it was done. Someone posted a comment and said that the liquid poured was liquid nitrogen and that the black block was a super conducting material when it was cooled with liquid nitrogen. I'm thinking of showing this example in my science class and would like to know what material that block is made of, or another example of a material that will become a superconductor.

Thanks to Phi, the nominator for this award recipient, for writing this: "... our conclusion today is that it is unconstitutional to teach ID [intelligent Design] as an alternative to evolution in a public school science classroom." With that ruling, Judge John E. Jones declared that the Dover Area School Board had violated the US Constitution by requiring students to hear a statement about ID before taking biology classes that included the theory of evolution. "We find that the secular purposes claimed by the Board amount to a pretext for the Board's real purpose, which was to promote religion in the public school classroom," Judge Jones said. His ruling was ver…

Not too long ago, the KGB declassified the Blue Folder which is said to hold information regarding the existance of aliens. http://www.indiadaily.com/editorial/6063.asp Quite an interesting read. Now to my point. Ok, this is going to be really really really out there, so stick with me. As you may or may not know or remember, Norman Rockwell's "War of the Worlds" broadcast caused a huge amount of mass confusion as people thought the world was actually being invaded. After this, do you suppose that the United Nations, or some other world wide association decided to increase the exposure of the concept of aliens to the world in an attempt to lessen the ch…

How do most people meet prospective partners? Through much of human history partners were met through family connections. With the decrease in family size and influence there has been no effective replacement. Many people meet at school and work but this is becoming progressively more restricted by work and company rules. Given the soaring divorce and single parent family rates I would suggest a more efficient means of social pairing be devised. Any suggestions?

You can tell a lot about a person by what they drive. Sometimes What kinds of vehicles do you have? Why did you pick them? What would you like to have? I was hauling bundles for the local newspaper so I am still driving the three standard ford festivas I used for that and an 87 Nissan pickup. All have over 1,000,000 miles. One of the festivas has over 300,000 miles. My wife and I have hit 15 deer in festivas and two of them were killed on the spot. Both cars were disable by deer hits so I put big knarly deer guards on the front and the only thing that gets beat up is the deer now. We my wife is pregnant with our third child so at some point w…

OMG OMG! I have a science fair project due in about 3 days . Haven't even started. I need a topic, bad. The provincial fair is not till April and I have a topic for THAT. HOWEVER, our teacher wants us to hand in our project in JANUARY because our school's semester based and this semester is over in about a month. The project I'm doing for April is too immensely complicated for me to pull off in less than 3 days and have all the materials and display done. So it's time for a desperate alternative. I'm 15 years old, Grade 10, able to spend about 100 to 200 bucks. I am interested in computers, math, engineering, physics, and chemistry. Our teacher wants a good project and…
