Speculations

Pseudoscientific or speculatory threads belong here.

Speculations Forum Rules

The Speculations forum is provided for those who like to hypothesize new ideas in science. To enrich our discussions above the level of Wild Ass Guesswork (WAG) and give as much meaning as possible to such speculations, we do have some special rules to follow:

  1. Speculations must be backed up by evidence or some sort of proof. If your speculation is untestable, or you don't give us evidence (or a prediction that is testable), your thread will be moved to the Trash Can. If you expect any scientific input, you need to provide a case that science can measure.
  2. Be civil. As wrong as someone might be, there is no reason to insult them, and there's no reason to get angry if someone points out the flaws in your theory, either.
  3. Keep it in the Speculations forum. Don't try to use your pet theory to answer questions in the mainstream science forums, and don't hijack other threads to advertise your new theory.

The movement of a thread into (or out of) Speculations is ultimately at the discretion of moderators, and will be determined on a case by case basis.

Evolution – Mechanistic or Agency? Recent studies reveal that some organisms can adapt proactively to future environmental changes—a process known as anticipatory evolution. Instead of merely reacting after stress occurs, these organisms can “predict” upcoming challenges and adjust in advance. For instance, Gao et al. (2024) found that bacterial colonies can anticipate environmental shifts and modify gene expression to improve survival. Likewise, Lindstedt et al. (2019) and Shu et al. (2020) report that anticipatory evolution involves the development of traits or behaviors enabling organisms to prepare for future conditions. Molecular, behavioral, and genetic mechanisms c…

  2. So Sir you are saying that ChatGPT is good tool? In my view it is good tool if used by guiding it and not following hyperlink removed by moderator hyperlink removed by moderator can help us to overcome our weaknesses and can calculate complex things which need paid tools(sometimes). It’s all upon the person using it.This tool can be used for many advanced things or maybe not but it can be used to build advanced things for sure, but some are limited to know how to use it to build advanced things and people often follow it without a question, which can be counted as AI generated work.

  4. Hello ScienceForums community, I would like to share with you a new theoretical proposal that I call the NKT Law, which suggests that inertia may not be a constant property of mass, but can vary with position in space. 🔹 Summary:In classical Newtonian mechanics, the inertial mass m is assumed constant. The NKT Law proposes a generalized dynamic interaction where inertia is treated as a variable dependent on position and possibly time. This idea arises from the intuition that objects experience different forms of resistance depending on their location in a gravitational field or even in quantum contexts. The core of the law is expressed in a simple but unconventional mathe…

  5. Heya!🫡 Did a quick glance over the introduction and felt confident I could present a reasonably coherent assembly of considerations(that perhaps the more mathematically/experimentally inclined could articulate for-or-against, as my own searching thus far hasn't fully solidified either way yet, but seems promising thus far) that should be testable. I know that there were already plenty of suggestions about an "antiverse" existence in many hypothetical/theory circles to explain the ratio of "matter to anti-matter" in our universe, and I welcome consideration/experimental evidence for-or-against it. But I've always felt this was only scratching the surface. When the Higgs B…

  6. Evolutionary Complexity The Expanding Framework of Evolutionary Theory Note: AI assisted researching and text finalization as English is my second language Earlier versions of evolutionary theory largely focused on genetic mutation and natural selection as the primary drivers of evolutionary change, with limited consideration of other mechanisms. However, modern evolutionary biology has evolved into a remarkably complex and integrated field that incorporates concepts like epigenetics, evolutionary developmental biology (evo-devo), and phenotypic plasticity. This expanded understanding highlights the inherent flexibility of developmental systems and represents a fundament…

  9. In Einstein's theory of general relativity, the interior metric or interior fluid solution, is an exact solution to the Einstein field equations and Einstein-Maxwell equations that describes the gravitational field and the space-time geometry in the interior of a non-rotating or rotating neutral or charged spherically symmetric body of mass M, which consists of an incompressible fluid and constant density throughout the body and has zero pressure at the surface and that the electric charge and angular momentum of the mass may be zero or non-zero, and the universal cosmological constant is zero. For a non-zero charged mass, the metric takes into account the Einstein-Maxwel…

  10. This theory proposes that the balance between High-Molecular-Weight Hyaluronic Acid (HMW-HA) and its degradation products (Low-Molecular-Weight HA or LMW-HA) plays a central role in regulating human development, particularly neotenous traits (retention of juvenile features into adulthood). I hypothesize that sustained elevation of HMW-HA—either through genetic expression (e.g., high HAS2, low HYAL), maternal factors, or environmental inputs (e.g., diet)—can delay critical periods, extend neuroplasticity, and shape emotional, social, and cognitive phenotypes. This may have implications for understanding developmental variability, neurodivergence (e.g., autism), and even ev…

Multiversal Time Travel Theory By me(Atul) Basic Concept for the theory For the theory to work we first have to believe that universe is infinite If the universe is infinite, then there must be infinite versions of our universe. This means:There are infinite copies of Earth, of us, of this moment everything There will be infinite universes 100% identical to ours completely because everything matching perfectly it can be one in septillion and even more That includes universes where everything matches perfectly same people, same atoms, same history just like ours. Now the theory is if we time travel we won't travel in time in our universe instead we will travel in time a 10…

I would like to hear how many people are familiar with doublet flow ? Doublet flow in fluid dynamics refers to the flow pattern created by combining a source and a sink (an inflow point) placed very close to each other. When these two singularities are brought infinitesimally close while maintaining a constant product of their strength and separation distance, they form a doublet. This configuration creates streamlines that resemble the flow around a cylinder in two dimensions or a sphere in three dimensions. When two spheres move close to each other inside a fluid, the flow pattern between them can be approximated by a Rankine oval. This is because the combination of …

  13. Sphere Theory: Beyond String Theory, Completing Quantum Gravity! For decades, we have been working to perfect the theory of quantum gravity, exploring radical new ideas such as extra dimensions (string theory) or the quantization of spacetime itself (loop quantum gravity). Moreover, significant unresolved problems related to gravity—such as the divergence problem, the singularity problem, the cause or driving mechanism of inflation, and the problem of cosmic accelerated expansion—span from the smallest to the largest scales. This strongly suggests that we may be missing something crucial in our understanding of gravity. Although these four representative gravity-related p…

FUV is an electromagnetic device of 3 magnets, the interaction of which causes a partial effect of weightlessness in the earth's atmosphere and stratosphere. Operating principle: the numbering of the magnets is taken from the description of the invention. Magnet two is stationary and motionless, magnet three rotates around it, it is like a rotor. Between them is magnet number one and it seems to hover between magnets two and three. Which causes a partial effect of weightlessness. 90-99%. Note: the internal parts of the device in which the FUV is installed should not touch each other. attached to magnets two and three. since the effect of weightlessness will be lost. And i…

  15. As briefly as possible -- since 1957 we have been stuck in a "quantum trilemma" of 3 different categories of QM interpretation. (1) Physical collapse theories (PC). These are always arbitrary and untestable (which is why none of them command a consensus). (2) Consciousness causes collapse (CCC). These are derivative of John von Neumann, and they push collapse outside of the physical system. Usually come with idealism or panpsychism as the explanation of "what collapsed the wave function before consciousness evolved?" which implies brains aren't required for consciousness. Hence not popular. (3) MWI. Denies collapse, but this implies our minds are continually splitting. Ve…

Hi, I came up with this theory about gravitation, please let me know what you think. Gravitation (the new theory) Gravitation as we know is the force of pulling material bodies towards each other. In order to understand exactly how it works, we must divide the constituent elements of the universe into three main categories. The first_ material mass, everything that consists of atoms. The second_ nonmaterial mass known as the dark matter, which is the one of the main building blocks of the universe, and it can even go through an atom. The third_ energy particles: electrons, photons and others which are produced by atoms. Due to these three main components interacting with…

  17. Hi everyone! I'm sure you've heard that most the mass in the universe is mysterious dark matter. But is that really the case? We sure do see more gravity than can be explained by the ordinary matter in stars and gas using gravity as we know it but perhaps we are simply wrong about how gravity works? It is precisely this idea that Mordehai Milgrom in 1983 decided to persue. He created what is now know as modified Newtonian dynamics (MOND). This is the leading modified gravity theory and has had a large number of predictions come true. Because most people don't know much about this theory I've created a website that answers the most frequently asked questions about it. It d…

  23. Solution to Gravity Divergence, Gravity Renormalization, and Physical Origin of Planck-Scale Cut-off [Abstract] By incorporating binding energy into an effective mass M_eff, we derive the RG flow and gravitational coupling G(k). G(k)=(1 - (3G_N/5(R_m)c^3)k)G_N=(1 - R_gp/R_m)G_N, where R_m is the radius of the mass or energy distribution and R_gp=(3/5)(GM_fr/c^2) is the radius at which the negative gravitational self-energy (binding energy) balances the mass-energy. At R_m = R_gp, where G(k) = 0 and the gravitational coupling vanishes, G(k) resolves gravitational divergences without quantum corrections and provides effective renormalization. This study proves that the QFT …

I had a little help writing this, so it might not be perfect. Anyway, enjoy the read and best wishes! VVVVVV AbstractThis paper proposes a radical extension to black hole bomb theory: that black holes are not cosmic endpoints, but dynamic engines whose ultimate instability arises from the recoupling of high-density, decoupled photons within their event horizons. This “photon recoupling bomb” mechanism fuses quantum optics, general relativity, and cosmological phase transitions into a new narrative for cosmic evolution. We connect these…
