Why Human Blood looks very dark red compare to Animals?

Featured Replies

Most of Animals have red color blood,

but Why Human Blood looks very dark red compare to Animals?

I think the main difference is whether it is oxygenated or not. Bright red oxygenated blood is found in all animals including humans. How did you compare the bloods to come to your conclusion?

The premise is wrong. As Robittybob1 said, there is no visual difference in mammalian blood (you are aware that we are animals, too, right?).

A short and easy to understand explanation of the chemistry of blood colours here.

We see animals arterial blood during f.e. hunting when hunter or slaughter doesn't bother to keep animal alive.

Humans blood that we ordinary see is from veins.

Wouldn't that depend on whether we're talking pulmonary or systemic?

pulmonary arteries - deoxygenated, darker

- - oxygenated by lungs

pulmonary veins - oxygenated, brighter

systemic arteries - oxygenated, brighter

- - deoxygenated at capillary beds

systemic veins - deoxygenated, darker

- - cycle begins anew
