Come with me to a celebration of 48 downvotes!

The party is at somewhere between 220-250 million years from now a galactic time

You can eat whatever my arse can imagine. See you there!

Congratulations ?

We got 50 now 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳

A more self-aware person might be asking themselves why. But then, a more self-aware, or more socially adroit, person would probably not have accumulated so many downvotes so rapidly.

A person who referred to a health professional as someone who “grabs tits!” Precisely!

Everyone is aware this is a joke right?

This is a nice example of why you pick up downvotes.

A bad joke, yes. Better improve the quality of your posts.

  • Only ask serious questions; take the answers seriously

  • Only react on topics you have some expertise,

  • Stop posting internet memes

  • If you like humor, we have at least 2 threads for that: one general in the lounge, and one in politics

  • And if you have only (your kind of) humor to share here, I suggest you look for another forum

If you just go on like this, I'll request the administrators to close your account. This is a serious discussion platform.

The fact that you still can't decode what Ex actually meant, and the context, suggests a kind of social disability that may be netting you downvotes. Perhaps more careful listening and less bidding for constant attention (and drop the memes) will improve your reputation. Opening yet another thread, and one that yells for attention, is the wrong direction.

Please do not ever post anything like this again. You come across as a 12 year old.

I thought I could make another thread regarding jokes, apologies then

That’s the whole point of the joke

You recently said "I don't see the point of a DV", with which I largely agree bc I'd rather see a good argument to accompany the vote; there's a miriad of examples of a +1 with an explanation of why, I've never seen a -1 explained, as if we're supposed to know the thought's of the voter.

However, when a member double's down on a previously, successfully, refuted argument, there's no point in further argument, so only a vote of no confidence is appropriate.

If you think it's unfair, explain why.

Then you aren't reading them. Just because you didn't agree with the explanation doesn't mean it wasn't explained.

And the explanations are as varied as the membership. You seem to get a few downvotes because you favor brevity over substance, and your responses are often vague or cryptic because of it. Sohan's liberal use of AI and memes, along with some responses to those posts that bordered on personal attacks earned them quite a few DVs.

The system originally helped us identify members who were pushing fringe concepts but weren't taking any criticism on board. People with negative rep scores were the quacks who wouldn't listen to reason. It's changed over time to snare those who make socially questionable comments or have an obvious attitude towards discussion topics as well. The rule of thumb is still to attack ideas and not people.

I use memes there is no way to confirm I used an LLM, some of responses could be better but DV's are for a variety of reasons. Its a little concerning that some statements have less than if not more than mine.

The phrasing of this is interesting. You haven't said that you don't use clips from an LLM, but rather you say things like "you can't prove that" or "no way to confirm." This signals equivocation to some people, and not transparency and good faith. If you have used snippets from AI, it's best to own up to that (and identify them as such when you do use them).

I use memes quite frequently, there is no way to prove I use an LLM in my arguments. I do admit that I used it once to verify my argument before I was told I can’t use it.

But it can be implied, for instance:

As long as you're learning, I think you'll find the membership is very willing to forgive your past.

Never intentionally, I have a "disability" that limits my loquacity, but I've never refused to explain further, when asked but more often than not, the neg doesn't include a question to be answered.

You seem Indian?

You know,it feels bad when someone downvotes for nothing and it ruins the reputation.

While I also feel many downvotes given out here are undeserving, the person doing the voting has their own reasons for doing so. Who are you to say that reason is irrelevant or "nothing?"

I am not here to argue.

But it's true. People give a downvote for many reasons, including when they don't like someone's tone. It could be because you make an assertion without support, or that you keep using the word "theory" to mean "guess", or that you avoided a previous question posed to you that was important to the poster. So, again, who are you to say that reason is irrelevant or "nothing"?

And if you aren't here to argue, you're not here to do science. Arguments are the core of peer review, and while we're far from a formal process, we like to use the same successful methodology in our discussions.

By argue i meant fighting over small things which are not related to topic.
