  1. Why bother? NK has nukes and, it would seem, long-range rockets but that doesn't mean the former would sit happily on the latter. Even if they have an ICBM capability how many do you think they can make and why would they use what little they can muster? See the above illustration. I don't understand the question? Which bit do I need to explain further?
  2. This from your link: I fundamentally disagree with his reasoning, because the evidence for vaccination is compelling (certainly beyond a reasonable doubt) and so John's point is valid; not feeding a child wouldn't be subject to belief as mitigation.
  3. Indeed, the US and the rest of the world just have to accept that yet another country has nukes despite all efforts; but what is the threat in real terms? Maybe control isn't working, perhaps co-operation will be more productive? Even an insane leader (oxymoron, unless they're a King/Emporer) can't believe that one bomb versus several hundreds of thousands, is a going to be a winner. Kim knows he is never going to win by firing his bomb so his only option is the threat, classic bluff.
  4. It happens in every country every day, they're called laws and who gets to decide them is our leaders; for instance, our leaders decided the speed limit is a good decision for someone else's life.
  5. LMAO; clean water is found in bottles and clean air is found in literature i.e. both are fictional.
  6. They certainly shouldn't be unless they want to be, and that's my point.
  7. It's a good idea, without the obvious political agenda; if we can lose the label "disabled" and just seek what we're all able to do. It's a good idea if we lose the idea that everyone has to contribute to society, in monetary terms, and that those that don't, can't be of benefit. I have been a carer in a Steiner based school and don't agree with his philosophy, but he did have a point.
  8. Numerology aside; whilst no-one can predict the future in any detail, we can predict that our past/present will, in a bigger picture, repeat (be reborn) if we ignore the lessons of history.
  9. You've got to be kidding me; someone who has more money than he/she needs can't be bought??? WTF Why do you think they need to buy a bigger Yacht? Someone who is content with what they have, can't be bought; anyone who wants a bigger anything is bought every day.
  10. It's not just taxes that increase year by year wages do too, in any and every country in history; the rich (countries or people) have a choice about what they're prepared to do for money (a means to live) the poor don't, they'll do whatever it takes; a wage is to enable the individual to live, a tythe/tax is to enable the populace to live. At some point in every nations chronology, the balance shifts and another nation becomes more efficient; that's the point where fear grows and hatred starts and walls are built and this thread begins. A business has just one objective and it's never patriotic.
  11. He's trying to illustrate the idea that truth doesn't matter unless it agrees with him or Santa...
  12. Most people do that on foot. Now we're talking. Indeed, driving at full speed in a rally is perfectly reasonable, it's the bloody spectators that get in the way that is to blame. Oh, you were being serious? my bad...
  13. And therein lies the problem, where do we draw the line? When is enough, enough?
  14. I can't find the study that supports the following: bacteria wait until there are enough numbers to have a significant impact, which if true means they are as conscious as a neuron and therefore free-will is just a matter of numbers rather than consciousness.(I'll ask my sister or perhaps an expert will intercede).
  15. It seems to me that Heisenberg's uncertainty principle puts a fundamental spanner in your works. You're taking my reply out of context and what I believe you meant to say is "believing DOES can change things." If you want to argue my point please include the post I was replying to. I get your confusion, you assume god is a mathematician.
  16. By which I assume you mean light speed, so no; but if you mean a speed greater or equal to light relative to something, then what's the point?
  17. Really, so touching your wife's arse is sexual abuse? Seems reasonable.
  18. Who doesn't? But I think perhaps Douglas Adams puts it more succinctly and without the need to interrogate/dismiss a lost/misunderstood civilisation.
  19. "Why doesn't truth matter?" because it's not about truth, it's about how far we can bury our head in the sand. Trump said he would "drain the swamp" He forgot to say he would replace mosquitos with alligators.
  20. You are either very confused or just a troll. For instance, I can describe the tree I view from my window, but that description has no impact on the tree.
  21. So, nothing legitimate can be learned from this news? Shit happens.
  22. This post looks like a joke and if so, it's way over my head, I googled it and found nothing, please explain.
