Making Cars More Efficient
We're no less dead... Much like an accident in a custard factory... Are we really considering a more efficient explosion?

Looks like Afghanistan is in Taliban hands...or VERY soon to be
Did anyone consider, the Taliban are true to their word?

Making Cars More Efficient
Efficiency is not the issue, we have more than enough sunlight (and wind) to produce enough hydrogen to fuel every car on the planet. And every hydrogen fuelled car, when not used to travel, can power a household. So while we wait for fusion to catch up and rescue us, we rely on a less efficient method... No more than sitting on a petrol tank...

What is Justice?
There is no justice, there's just us... Forgiveness isn't about what they deserve, it's about what we deserve, and the best chance of your victim recovering from her ordeal is to forget about the perp and let other's deal with him; with compassion initially, if that doesn't bear fruit and he/she truely is incorrigible, then by all means throw away the key; in fact string em up I say, that's probably kinder... Now who's being presumptive, all I've said is, start by considering them both as victim's. It's you that wanted to give more consideration to one side and unbalance the scales. Justice for all under the law, is the target for every civilised society; I don't know if that's achievable when so many are persuaded to seek revenge on a freedom fighter, because we're told that they're terrorist's, by the law maker's or The Daily Mail. It's not a coincidence that I referred to "The Holy Grail"... 😉

We can but hope, that they are sincere in-house...

Making Cars More Efficient
That's the wrong question to ask... A more pertinent question is, can we make car's more effective?

Is Yes the Same as No?

What is Justice?
Why? What are you going to do to them, if they don't appear (or have the capacity) to play by your rules? Your only option is some form of torture; while that may make you feel a bit better for a moment or two, I can't imagine how that would benefit your victim. What would that achieve? The best thing we can do for the victim (as per your case), is to teach them the power of forgiveness, and the futility of revenge. The only thing we seem unable to agree on, is the potential of even the cruellest of criminal's to also be a victim; and the importance of that possibility in a just society.

One man's freedom fighter is another man's terrorist, it depends on which end of the cutlery we're viewing it from. What Mandela did was: Demanded they listen. Convince them they're wrong. Forgave them for being wrong. And so allay their fear of revenge. Seems like something we can learn from. Of course there are extreme examples and of course they're abhorrent and of course the perp needs to be in a prison; no argument here... And in that protective custody, we have the chance to correct his/her obviously disturbed mental condition, it's only when we fail; that we can consider him/her incorrigible, and justifiably throw away the key. That doesn't mean they don't deserve forgiveness.- The multidimensional algebra
Depends on the intent of the OP; is it a question or a blog?- What is Justice?
Everything we do comes with a price; help and our soul is in credit, cheat and we damage that credit, do nothing and we let other's decide what our soul is worth. Didn't Mandela, among other's, thumb his nose at authority? The problem, it seems, is the vast majority of western society, doesn't know what a victim look's like; because The Daily Mail has it's fingure on the scale and is very good at distracting it's customer's...- What is Justice?
Fundamentally, no we aren't; your approach is to decide/judge they're incorrigible through an emotional responce to the crime, with an emphasis on the obvious victim, rather than a balanced approach that considers the possibility, that the criminal's also a victim; besides how do we know their incorrigible before they re-offend? An incorridgible recidivist doesn't automatically deserve prison either. A theif for instance can be tagged and monitored, a fraudster can be denied access to a computer; only a rapist or otherwise dangerous criminal need be confined away from society. So we lock them up, and give them a chance to change; only then, can we get a sense of their incorrigibility. Indeed, in the UK and the USA, it has been monetised and subjected to the lowest bid. How can justice possibly servive that process? It makes the poor poorer and the rich richer; and the rich are much better at hiding their crimes. Therefore the scales of justice are unbalanced and unfair; much like a greedy butcher with a fingure on them and distracting the customer by showing how we should fear the starving among us.- What is Justice?
Never seen that movie, but I have seen the one that shows the average joe, plan his/her perfect holiday and look forward to it, all year, with sooo much anticipation of happiness, only to have it entirely spoiled because of a stain on the pillow.- What is Justice?
Who said anything about eliminating prison's? What we need to eliminate, for justice to be served, is the fear that every/most violent criminal's are incorrigible; that's a feedback loop that creates more incorrigible recidivist's. Much like making drug use criminal, which just encourages a drug dealer to make money criminally; rather than paying a tax to pay for the justice of the victim's of drug abuse. Instead all of our taxes goes on a war we can't win and prison's that aren't needed.- Any help appreciated.
No, although tactile-emotion synesthesia does resonate with me. Thanks, I'll give it a try and look into that book. I think it's more likely that I'm just a bit thick or just a bit lazy.- What is Justice?
Indeed, wrong word the sentence should read "if I'm content, I don't mind what you do..." Wrong word "Contented people don't hurt or steal from each other." People who chase happy, chase the impossible and so can't find a contented state in which to be happy. Otherwise you've nailed it, we just need to find a way to allay the fear of those who can't see past the incorrigible recidivist.- What is Justice?
Indeed, it's the next level of justice; if I'm content, I don't care what you do...- Conquerors and conquered in history...
This brings to mind: No one wants to be conquered, however benevolent their intention's; people just want to enjoy their own culture not be forced into another's. They can be pursuaded, but conquerors' tend to prefer force.- What is Justice?
That just shows that you lack the motivation to abuse because you haven't been, not that you're not capable.- What is Justice?
Remove the emotional responses and focus on reparation, for both victim's; anything else strays into revenge. We, normal citizens, don't know what motivates a criminal; it's fairly well known that an abused child can often grow up to be an abuser. The emotional response is to seek revenge on the more recent and obvious abuse, especially when it manifests as particularly brutal and ignore the root cause; it's easier and more satisfying, not too mention feeling safer because they can't possibly do it again, if we lock em up and throw away the key. Given the right motivation/illness we're all capable of criminality, justice for all, means we're all given a second chance. Seeking revenge just damage's your own soul.- Any help appreciated.
I hardly smoke anything these day's, can't afford it, just when I find a bag or when a mate shares, much like JD. Besides, this is a life long problem; I have no problem with learning or exam's, just don't ask me to write an essay. I appreciate your post, but I'm just asking, not trying to find a diagnosis. I'm generally so laid back, it's difficult to find a pulse. 🙂 I often do my best thinking while meditating - often down to the core of a problem; then I try to write it down and the leaking starts, as I seek for the correct wording. To be honest, my life hasn't been free of trauma but I'm content with who I am now. It's just a little frustrating that I can't fully share that understanding. Thanks everyone for the input, it's appreciated...
