Population impact (split from Is global warming the most urgent environmental crisis ?)
That's the hand we've been dealt, we could try sending the useless people away.

As Brexit demonstrates with frightening clarity. It's not about population, it's about what we do, now...

Jordan Peterson's ideas on politis
No, I've learned to live with them, and think past them; I evolved that ability. 😉

It's one of your ancestors. Not really, there's nothing wrong with learning from the past, just don't make it an excuse to not think about it...

Jordan Peterson's ideas on politis
It's naive to think that you haven't evolved past an amoeba, every generation evolve and everyday we too evolve emotionally, but hey boys will be boys.

What is the best political direction?
I'll accept poor choice of word's but not BS, I should have said "There's not two kinds of people, there's just people, understanding in a billion different way's that's how the founding father's unwittingly set the conditions for a two party system and included protection to prevent a bias in the system; it worked quite well for 200+ year's, but now it's become dogma and it encourages people to not think about the meaning of the document." I'm just trying to explain how an infinitely compex system tends to devolve into a simplistic one, because people are people.

What is the best political direction?
As I've said before, we are all different in a billion different ways, but we are all human; like a bat is a bat. There's not two kinds of people, there's just people, understanding in a billion different way's that's why the founding father's chose a two party system and included protection to prevent a bias in the system; it worked quite well for 200+ year's, but now it's become dogma and it encourages people to not think about the meaning of the document. Then one day the pressure on the people, force's a change of direction (Like a pendulum)... 😉

Jordan Peterson's ideas on politis
I can't comment on JP because I have no idea what he's said/writen, but I do trust @Phi for Alland @CharonY, assessment of him. It's a big step from punishment to attacking bad idea's, besides he's not being ignored he's being debated.

Jordan Peterson's ideas on politis
Everything is down to evolution; for instance, some men have grown up.

"I'm alright Jack" is part of the problem; it's the other side of the fear coin, 'heads I win, tails you lose'. I've always answered your questions, your just not willing to listen "Matthew 13:13 Therefore I speak to them in parables: because they see not; and hearing they hear not, neither do they understand".

What is the best political direction?
I've never denied that In your opinion, perhaps that's because of a slavish adherence to the status quo. The American constitution is clearly an attempt to avoid the corruption that that brings, separating politics from the law and allowing the people to fight when/if the government becomes authoritarian, the fact that document was amended shows that, for a while, it worked; a balanced government is as close to ideal as we're going to get. Unless your status quo is more ideal? No, the facts are I generally defend science as opposed to scientists...As I have said many times, there are good and bad in every discioline. If I defend that with religious zeal, perhaps you can show me aspects where that defence should not apply. Plus that defence is generally applicable when some with unscientific religious or supernatural faith attempt to unjustly deride science. https://www.collinsdictionary.com/dictionary/english/science "Science is the study of the nature and behaviour of natural things and the knowledge that we obtain about them". Question; why should I not defend with zeal the above definition? Rito* 🙄 * you are aware that all this is recorded (for training purposes), rite? Way to miss the point, understanding is a binary state, you do or you don't. The pendulum is a metaphor, it has no defined direction. Yes we're all different and yes we have free will, but don't let that confuse you into thinking we're not all the same. That's a whole heaping of irony... 🤣

The use and value of Philosophy to Science.
My first thoughts are philosophy is still valuable today, not in conflict with science, but as a means to hold politicians/scientists to account and hold up a mirror to their biases. Because a scientist seeks to eliminate bias from their experiments, proves their not free from it.
