  1. Whatever happens I hope it works out well for you guys. We constantly moan and whine about our waiting lists, mis-management mis-spending of money, declines in service etc.. wrt to our National Health Service here in the UK.... but that's what we british do best - moan. On the whole it is a pretty fantastic system (and would be even better if we had a proper government who listened to the doctors and nurses instead of trying force unrealistic targets on them in their ignorance - wasting billions on poorly thought out schemes that the doctors never wanted in the first place) - anyone at all can be treated rich or poor, native or foregin. It is very fair. It stops the poor from not getting treatment just to save their money - thus saves lives. True there are horror stories, but that is usually due to poor manegement rather than actualy flaws in the concept. We still have private routes to fall back on if needed/preffered. Anyway - good luck whatever route your country goes down. You've voted - now let them do their jobs and see what they come up with.... give them time... And, Sincerely - All the Best! Regards, P.
  2. In most liquids there is a correlation between temperature and viscosity - raise the temperature and the viscosity drops. How this relationship is effected in a non-newtonian liquid I personally do not know. I would just report your findings as you see them in the experiment - unless someone else wants to write the essay.
  3. The thing is with the currebt British government at the moment is that they are very biased and tell lies. If results came out to suggest that THC wasn't that dangerous then they would not report it for "fear of sending the wrong message". They aren’t interested in finding out the truth - they are only interested in (rightly or wrongly) in scaremongering people into abstinence. Not just with THC - they twist facts from all studdies on many different subjects - no-one believes a word they say anymore. They only seem interested in their own propagana and think we are all too stupid to realise it. How many of these canabis uses were also on other mind bending drugs? How many of them were crazy anyway?! If a crazy man takes drugs, it isn't nescessarily the drugs that have made him crazy. It's like saying "Alcohol makes people violant" - well yes, it seems to maker those who already have violant tendencies to show them, but to issue a blanket statement saying that alcohol makes people violant would be untrue. Anyway - sorry - the OP suggested he didn't wat to hear from people with a bias...I might be a bit biased, it's probably because they are all out to get me! Merged post follows: Consecutive posts mergedUncanny - Here: Government Scientist for stating sacked for stating that canabis is less harmful than alcohol. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1224162/Drug-tsar-claimed-ecstasy-LSD-harmful-alcohol-sacked.html It doesn't fit in with what the government WANT us to think, regardless of the truth. So they got rid of him.
  4. Surely the government wouldn't waste billions for no reason? Perhaps this is another case where they have some hidden agenda they are not telling us about. Being fair to them though, they did spend billions on the NHS as promised, however it was SO poorly mismanaged and wated that the effects haven't really been noticed. It would be laughable if it weren't a crying a matter.
  5. I saw a documentry on this a few years back too - It was showing tht the star movements were evidence for Super Massive Black Holes in particular. Not sure about plain old black holes. They suggested that there was a Super Massive Black Hole at te centre of every galaxy. Speculation / question: - If there is a SMBH at the centre of every galaxy, would it suggest their involvement in initial galaxy formation at all? i.e. do SMBH's play a part in the birth of a galaxy?
  6. Mild acids on baking soda will liberate CO2 in bubbles. You can also try chalk and mild acid. Don't use acid and bleach. You don't want to make chlorine because it is nasty. Why do you want this information?
  7. It's both physics and chemistry at the same time - quantum mechanics. When an electron in an exited state in the hydrogen atom (or any atom or molecue) drops to a lower energy level, the energy is emited as an electromagnetic wave. As you stated - E = MC^2
  8. Whether you watch or not, the same thing happens. You can use a screen or unexposed film. If you fire them singularly they act as if there are many (BECAUSE it travels as a wave and hits as a particle). Read about Thompsons double slit experiment. The purpose is to demostrate that the ONE photon "knows" (maybe "experiences" would be a better word) that there are 2 slits because it is travelling as an electromagnetic wave. When it hits the wall/screen/film or whatever you choose to put in the way, it hits at a single pont making one flash. But always in the area where you would expect to see a light strip from the difraction pattern. Hope that is clear - if not look up Thompsons double slit experiment - it explains all this.
  9. khubaib_95 - after reading post 2, I assume you typed "Non-Newtonian Fluid" into google, no?. The first hit gives a link to wiki's site which gives you some info explaining non-newtonian fluids, did it not?. There is really no point in IA writing you an essay about when it has already been done under that first hit on the search engine. Maybe I'm being a bit harsh on you - maybe you are very young and haven't learnt about search engines yet. If so then I appologise. Go to http://www.google.com and type "NON-NEWTONIAN FLUIDS" into the space provided and there will be lots of information for you to read.
  10. I saw Derren Brown demonstrate NLP via mirroring and body syncing a few weeks ago on one of his shows. He sat in a cafe and mirrored some guy who sat a few tables away.... they became syncing and after a while instead of DB mirroring the guy's movements, DB started to take the lead and the guy then started to mirror DB. DB then started to act like he was dropping off and the guy fell into a trance. Amazing - he went over and properly hypnotized him into going down to Dixons to steal a TV! Crazy. He reckoned that spy's might have used this to plant suggestions into civilians during war time so they became sabatours without knowing it. (also the spy wouldn't get caught in the act as the 'victim' was the one taking the action). Amazing. Type "NLP mirroring" into google. Man - I wish I knew about this when I was at uni - I was crap with women........ then.
  11. I'd start by following the suggestion in post 2. i.e. - look up non-newtonian liquids and see what they are all about. Or do you want someone to write an essay about it for you?
  12. Answer IA's question first and then someone might know wtf you are talking about.
  13. My 2 pence: Clearly the guy is innocent and the woman (who whose trespass would have been overlooked at first had she not acted like an idiot by reporting the bloke for exposure) should be done for wasting police time. I'd be interested to see how the case pans out.
  14. Sorry - you are right I misunderstood. It still doesn't work though.
  15. You have completely changed your tune then! You said 2 sides unknown in the opening post. NOW you are saying you know 2 sides and one angle (the right angle) - as MrS said. Can't believe you do triangle maths without having heard of Pythag's theorum. What School do you go to?!? Even if it isn't a right angle you can solve it with trig. with 2 sides and one angle.
  16. Used to be a wound spring - usually batteries these days though.
  17. Longer periods of time, like weeks, months years seem to go quicker as you get older. As a todler, a year seems like forever as it is 30 to 50% of your entire like. It still seems like a long time as an 18 to 20 year old as it is 5% of the entire time you have been alive. Before you know it you start thinking "where did those years go?!?" What the hell happened to 2009? it's nearly over... (it has been 2.6% of my life so far!). However, this is obviously differet to the stress induced perception of time slowing during a crisis.
  18. Type "slow accident time adrenaline" into google. There are no concrete experiments I could find in my brief search but thereis alot of discussion about it. Cheers I-Now - I've seen that vid before - my first link is an article about it.
  19. I suppose then, as in the experiment with the flashing digits - it should be possible to learn to controll this and make it happen at will?
  20. OK - this isn't what I ment, but I did see this on TV once where the guy tried to speed his perception: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/4741340.stm This link is complete BS http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/magazine/4741340.stm it gives a pretty crap explanation but I posted it anyway. Still haven't found anything concrete. but will keep searching. Wiki has very little about it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Slow_Motion_Perception I have experienced it myself in a minor crash - I would guess that it a big adrenaline shot which speeds your thinking and heightens your perception giving the false perception of time slowing like in the Matrix.
  21. Fight time! During an accident, fight or time of extreame stress, you are supposed to sense time at a slower rate. How true this is or how it is explained I'm not sure - I'll have to search around abit, but it certainly seems true. In a car accident it "seems" as though you have time to think through everything and possibilitys go through your mind - you think faster, so time seems slower. I have experienced this myself, but I reckon it it probably just an artifact of the mind (obviously time doesn't actually slow).
  22. Did I say you were a Labour voter? No. Yes you are right. All newspapers have their own political slant. However, I don't think they are allowed to print lies somehow. The current government are worse than the Daily Mail in my opinion for lies and spin and hidden agendas, but now we ARE going off topic. Over and out. DrP.
  23. It's not off topic. Jack Straw on question time was asked "Do you think the recent rise in the support for the BNP is due to the current governments failed immigration policy?" He was riddiculed for not answering the question. The articule explains why the government's current immigration policy is wrong (in some peoples opinion) - by basing it on lies and deceit with hidden agendas. LoL - Every Labour voter I know hates the Daily Mail - however, most of it's stories are printed in a similar way in the Times - a well respected Newspaper. Most left wingers also hate the Times with as much venom, but can't really slate it's reputation, so they take it out on the Mail. The article may have been printed by the Mail - so what? Are you saying they are lying and that the government did not have this agenda after all?
  24. Check this Daily Mail article (yes! I know it's the Daily Mail, but hey - no goverment supporting paper would print this). http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1222613/Labour-let-migrants-engineer-multicultural-UK.html?ITO=1490&referrer=yahoo It's no supprise that the working classes are turning to the right when they have been lied to by the government for so long. Stealth mass immigration without the publics concent. Promises of a refferendum on Euope and then blatent attempts to push through their own Euopean policy without any intension of consulting the masses as to how they feel about it.
  25. I don't know either, but it isn't politically correct to talk about it and rightly or wrongly people feel very strongly about such issues. The BNP are prepared to talk about such things, were other parties have been too scared to approach such issues publically because groups have split opinions and bringing them up can lead to being branded as racist by the misled(others then get behind them out of fear of being labeled racist themselves). Thankfully (recently) the Tory party have come out into the open and started to discuss this. The current govnt seems blind to any any other opinion than to it's own. I thought Jack Straw and Nick Griffen BOTH came accross as being representitive of parties unvotable for next term. (In case you hadn't realised, I'm voting Conservative again - lol).
