  1. It’s amazing how many more posts are off topic than on. Just… never mind.
  2. Lots of 21 and 23 year olds in secondary school, are there?
  3. In which case, avoiding comment altogether is likely for the best.
  4. Why wouldn’t different classes / divisions already account for this? Sex isn’t the determining factor, IMO. Skill and aggressiveness are. Sex is just a lazy approximation for an outcome we can achieve in other ways. Do you disagree?
  5. This thread rather clearly is intended to focus on kids sports, not elite or professional ones. Appreciate your help in maintaining that focus.
  6. I approve of this arguments syntax
  7. Agreed That’s a much longer, much separate, and much off-topic discussion that I suspect you and I both would quite enjoy quite a bit more IRL whilst breaking bread together.
  8. Good topics for other threads. No matter what way the US system does things, this thread is about what approaches might be best. Correct. Thank you.
  9. Other than creating a standalone 3rd category for all 6 transgendered athletes out there, and while maintaining maximum fairness to cis-gendered young athletes already competing at the secondary school levels, what would be the best way to avoid excluding trans children who wish to compete? One proposal is to eliminate assigned sex from the selection process and set divisions based on skill and ability (similar to how junior varsity is split from varsity, or division 1 from division 2), but that is also an imperfect approach. So, what might be the best approach assuming inclusion of trans kids in sports is the desired outcome?
  10. Getting?

This must be a lazy person trying to haze their way into an online group where you must first be banned a few times at others] sites before being allowed entry
  12. So you’re chicken?
  13. Probably has something to do with horsing around
  14. Who’s doing this, specifically? Who’s not embracing it, specifically? Lol. Like an actual bubble? You seem badly unfamiliar with politics. Would likely be better to start with something much simpler, more universal, and with higher ROI like paid family leave. Who’s suppressing it, specifically? Seriously, we’ve talked before about your ridiculous fantasies and how you should stop rooting yourself in flawed conceptions of the world. I’m sad to see you’ve not taken those feedbacks onboard.
  15. I say no and think the idea creates more problems than it solves, but even if you think yes it’s a great idea, it’s not plausible and there’s no good way to implement it since vast majority of ticket sales occur prior to airport arrival and via platforms not managed by the airlines themselves.

  17. I’m with JCM on this one. We can all advocate for better without having direct personal involvement. We can and should be be allies at any time and on any issue we want. I see you’re unfamiliar with sarcasm. In case it’s being missed again, this comment was sarcastic, too. I know you’re familiar with sarcasm. Unless laws are being passed to prevent middle school and high school aged trans children from competing, I don’t care.
  18. Facepalm. I’m glad you took my point, even if only indirectly.
  19. Cool. I’m super glad you brought that one up bc it’s TOTALLY relevant to participation in sports being made illegal for trans kids in schools across the US. Surf boat racing is really ultra common in US middle schools.
  20. If you say so Cool. We’re good for rugby then. Time to move on to ANY of the hundreds of other sports now, yeah?!?
  21. You’re okay with them having clean drinking water so long as they get it from a different water fountain, right? They have a right to education so long as they aren’t attending the same school as your kids. They’re welcome to a hot cooked meal so long as they sit at a different counter… welcome to ride the bus so long as they sit in back, etc.
  22. Perhaps some sports should maintain a distinction between boys and girls, but then we’d need to allow boys who weren’t identified as such by the doctor at birth to still participate… and to allow girls who weren’t identified as such by the doctor at birth to still participate. I’m fine with that approach too, but as this thread makes apparent, I’m not the one you must convince to be a partner in seeking ways of editing the existing qualifications.
  23. No. It’s an example of you refusing to discuss issues in good faith. You suggested I could change the situation by having some backbone. I asked you to elaborate, and here we are. You either can’t, won’t, or simply disrespect me so much you’re not willing to show me any courtesy whatsoever or even try. This isn’t just an academic exercise. Children are being hurt by this.
  24. Sigh
  25. Right. And given that I’ve already confirmed that I have a spine, I remain ready to hear precisely what else you suggest. Citation needed.
