  1. Assume 100°C is the temp of your liquid to boil (water, 1atm) Although that the temp is 100°C this doesn't mean that all the molecules will change state from liquid to gas. There is an extra amount of energy required to do the 'conversion' from liquid to gas. about 2260KJ/kg. (for water) Here a link to that site I almost always refer to (it's a great site) http://hyperphysics.phy-astr.gsu.edu/hbase/thermo/phase.html#c1
  2. If you are going to do it for 10 weeks maybe you should make a small website(one page) with a count-down timer on it. (like here:http://www.space.com/marsrover/) and the lottery results.
  3. This will help you with your time trouble: http://www.worldtimeserver.com/time.asp The best you can find if you have time/location trouble. UK time: http://www.worldtimeserver.com/time.asp?locationid=GB Singapore:http://www.worldtimeserver.com/time.asp?locationid=SG
  4. I was thinking the earlier you start with it, how greater the chance that the numbers will somehow turn up. (idea based Chaos theory) People*preparetime=Chance ?? I don't believe in direct contact or anything that would be able to influance it like a controller. But I don't deny the possibility of some kind of ripple effect of your actions that makes random less random.
  5. Hi, I tried to find so info on the net but I can't find the answers I'm looking for. Hope someone can help. I wan't to make a website that is protected with a password so only family members can view the info/pictures. But how do you do that? - Do you have to program it all yourself? - Is it something a provider support or doesn't? or can I do that on any free webspace? and about the same questions but about a forum so every family member can post some news for the others to see. Thanks for pushing me in the right direction.
  6. It seems Beagle2 didn't make it. If you see al the things that have to happen without problem on the right time then it obvious is almost like a shot in the dark knowing that they sometimes struggle to get a solar panel open of a simple earth satellite and that isn't even put on a fixed timeline.
  7. The law of containment of energy is in effect so no you don't gain energy from it but depending where your satelite is (in reference to gravitational pulls) you could have a bigger/lower velocity. BTW what do you mean with 'end velocity'?
  8. This will help to have an idea of the speed: http://www.chem.uncc.edu/faculty/murphy/1251/slides/C110/sld030.htm
  9. LOL (not surprised at all) wait a few decennia if you want to know those answers
  10. Belgians? right, never trust what they say. Oh yes that's only about taxes
  11. 1 2 3 4 5 6 uuhmm It's the lottery in the UK right? I don't want to mess up the wrong lottery.
  12. - I'm not an exact definition generator so you don't have to overanalyze my sentences. - why 'Plan' I don't believe in an universe that doesn't know it's next point (maybe not detailed) - about evidence: Evidence is the problem of the non believer.
  13. To add on what I already said: The real question is why do you think that such a no human influance world is normal and this one isn't? on the other hand if people can get addicted to pressing the point button (.....). well, then maybe we did take it to far.
  14. Because we are a part of nature everything we do is then by definition natures plan. So saying we are changing natural evolution is 'naive' & overestimating yourself. Nature has a goal(way of doing) and we are the TOOLS/WAYS to get there. You ask what that goal is? Maybe letting the entropy rise as fast as possible. etc.
  15. 7 Is rather simple: 20th century 1900 - 1999 sqrt(1999) = 44.710... sqrt(1900) = 43.588... Know any other whole numbers than 44 between those? 44*44 = 1936 about 1) why is 9.49/10= 0.949 less correct ?? correction add 44+1936=1980 (not the year he was born but the year in which he said this)
  16. 30fps with which games ? run 3dmark 2001&2003 to compare performance. 30fps could be the right for this card. (it's not like it's a 9800Pro/XT) BTW why didn't you go for the 9600XT? You may want to try a more busier forum about subjects like this here: http://www.abxzone.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=10
  17. ESA PR 83-2003. This morning, ESA's Mars Express flawlessly released the Beagle 2 lander that it has been carrying since its launch on 2 June this year. Beagle 2 is now on its journey towards the surface of Mars, where it is expected to land early in the morning of 25 December. http://www.esa.int/export/SPECIALS/Mars_Express/SEM2T0374OD_0.html Home of Beagle 2: http://www.beagle2.com/index.htm Events time line http://www.beagle2.com/landing/timeline.htm
  18. Correct, but not mentioning OLED's after such a statement would be 'wrong' from my point of view. (although technically correct)
  19. and If it's REALLY REALLY REALLY NEW. --> Then there won't be enough info to talk about it
  20. OK Here some PDF info about materials and their corresponding wavelengths. (for the non believers) http://alpha.qmul.ac.uk/~ugez644/MAT203/LEDs.pdf EDIT: and especially for people who like to see it but can't view PDF: Common III-V materials used to produce LEDs and their emission wavelengths Material Wavelength (nm) InAsSbP/InAs 4200 InAs 3800 GaInAsP/GaSb 2000 GaSb 1800 GaxIn1-xAs1-yPy 1100-1600 Ga0.47In0.53As 1550 Ga0.27In0.73As0.63P0.37 1300 GaAs:Er,InP:Er 1540 Si:C 1300 GaAs:Yb,InP:Yb 1000 AlxGa1-xAs:Si 650-940 GaAs:Si 940 Al0.11Ga0.89As:Si 830 Al0.4Ga0.6As:Si 650 GaAs0.6P0.4 660 GaAs0.4P0.6 620 GaAs0.15P0.85 590 (AlxGa1-x)0.5In0.5P 655 GaP 690 GaP:N 550-570 GaxIn1-xN 340, 430, 590 SiC 400-460 BN 260, 310, 490
  21. Yeah, that what I'm trying to say the whole time. there are diff. colours. (although I wasn't even mentioning that you can put them on the same substrate)
  22. - How can you put LED's of different colour besides each other if there is only one colour? (you just proved my point.) There are even IR LED's, obviously you can't make a full spectrum with one LED but any screen uses 3 base colours so no differents there. - Yes OLED aren't the same as LED's but they have much more in common with LED's than with LCD's. - I only have that site as reference but the only obvious disadvantage is lifetime (not brigthness) And it is not so far away you can even buy some first devices with OLEDs.
  23. uhmmm, LED's only one colour?? and about screen use: http://www.universaldisplay.com/tech.php http://www.zdnet.com.au/reviews/coolgear/av/story/0,2000023510,20273393,00.htm
