  1. If the glaciers (like in the Karakoram and Himalayan ranges) aren't replenished, a lot of rivers will run dry. Those mountain ranges are big condensers, if they are cold enough.
  2. No, blurring just means you've moved the focal point of your eyes wrt to some object or plane. With Magic Eye you put your focal point passed the plane of the image.
  3. Magic Eye pictures rely on voluntarily blurring vision.
  4. The 'truth' is what works for a given application.
  5. Ontologically, in physics, what a thing 'is' is its properties.
  6. Note this is in the Relativity forum.
  7. Space is volume and volume is a property of things. Empty space does not exist as a distinct entity, just like 'length' doesn't. Vacuum energy is the lowest energy state a volume can have ( filled with virtual particles) but it's not zero i.e it is not 'nothing' or empty.
  8. I can picture it hacking with those teeth on my dead body, like a pick axe going "Nom Nom..."
  9. I didn't know they had teeth. I've handled probably millions of them whilst fishing.
  10. A maggot!
  11. Can you show any examples? If you mean stuff that people have made up and are arsey/adamant without evidence when it gets challenged, then yes. That's perfectly reasonable.
  12. I think, as you get older, you have other interests and when you need a fix of music, you stick with the familiar because you know it will give you what you want.
  13. LOL! Too early for me but the stuff I like does evolve from that. More like this:
  14. It's interesting how our tastes fossilize. Although I like a lot of genres, I'm into guitar stuff of the 70's most deeply.
  15. Today I learned that Ordnance Survey maps are named for the Board of Ordnance, who supplied military equipment and defending the realm, needed accurate strategic maps for the army. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-45007577
  16. I was just saying what it looks like to me.
  17. This is true, but if you are angry and flustered, things can cause you to do things in the wrong order.
  18. It doesn't look like that to me because he doesn't seem to take his eye off that lad at any point up to firing. If you pretend to hold a gun as though aiming it, the trigger mechanism/safety is obscured and I would expect to move the gun away to look, thinking there was something wrong. My guess is no better than yours though.
  19. It looks like to me that he takes aim, then thinks differently, evidenced by lifting up the gun up before firing as a warning shot instead
  20. What is the OP asking, apart from lecturing?
  21. Yeah, I googled her. She's my generation.
