  1. Russia has nothing to do with the Brexit result. That's been gradually happening for decades. As far as regime change goes, I think that it is current wisdom is that it's not a good idea; change must occur from within. Iraq and Libya are sobering lessons
  2. Don't give up. Look at it as a journey of exploration.
  3. That's nice. Have you tried stamping your design the same way and setup with the chloride solution?
  4. Oh dear. Have you watched this video. They show several different ways. The one showing where the liquid is put in a pen at 1.06 and using your stencil above looks right for you I think and no need for lacquer. Note the stencil is stuck down in the vid, so you may need to do that each time.
  5. You can fully matte the lacquer with a Scotchbrite pad when you are done and it's cured properly. I did that on my gloss guitar and it came out great. Just maintain one direction until it looks even then wipe with a damp cloth to clean it.
  6. The Republicans may deny these people are part of them but I see them as living caricatures of mainstream Republican policy. They represent how their policies would manifest in the end if not obstructed... not pretty.
  7. If that fails, you can get high temperature clear lacquer if that's the problem. It's not too dear. Here's a UK example: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tech-Xtremely-Temperature-LACQUER-Exhaust/dp/B00ZXZP480 I suspect the Rustoleum spray is more temperature tolerant than normal lacquers; it's got 'enamel' in its name.
  8. At least you now know the source of the bleeding and that's a good result. Are you using the same lacquer as other people that do it?
  9. Try that and post back. Follow the grain when sanding, and with a block.
  10. Yes, it's still bleeding. I'll ponder on it. I think it's the wood. It wants to be dead smooth by planing, ideally, I think.
  11. Don't let the sealer spray droplets join up into a liquid film when you spray, as that is when it will run under the stencil. Do light sprays and each time going for an orange peel effect. In a nutshell, you are spraying each layer too heavily so that it can run... go for a more powdery spray effect. When it's all done and dried properly you can smooth the orange peel effect with a light sanding action with the green side of a washing up sponge or one of those green plastic scouring pads to give a satin finish.
  12. I found this method: The clear coat is thicker, so it wont bleed under the vinyl, then when the vinyl's removed, the clear coat won't allow the chloride to bleed passed the clear coat. You just might have to reverse how you make your stencil, whether it's a positive or a negative of your design. Seems like a workable solution. A rubber-faced roller might be useful to make sure the stencil edges are stuck firmly before clear coating
  13. Response by Sanofi on Roseanne Barr's recent racist comment that tickled me:
  14. It's a good thing that you thought about that because flatsawn will move more than quartersawn,
  15. Couldn't you dremel it in? That's really nice. Well done.
  16. Nearly everything is affected by the potential job losses/profit losses of a restrictive directive. The trouble with overt capitalism is that it encourages people to think they are little islands of autonomy with no collective sense of responsibility.
  17. This comes to mind;
  18. Say 'Hi' to your back from me. LOL!
  19. Nice. Are you now going to wish for a Fields Medal and Nobel? Sadolin is a pretty good one coat finish. It gives a nice sheen and good weatherproofing.
  20. Not at all. I'd rather be wise than naive, although world does look simpler and less complicated.
  21. Yep. That's groovy. I must be getting younger in my old age.
  22. I think this is up your street: This is America - Childish Gambino
  23. Then you are seeing blurred in that section. The bringing into focus in such games is happening in the brain, not in the eye. Depth perception is a mental construct where information is taken from both eyes and processed in the brain to create 3D. You are probably doing this processing for that aspect there i'e it's not a raw ability of the eye.
  24. If Trump turned sideways he'd disappear. He's like a spaghetti western film set: all front. A quote from Aesop seems pertinent:
  25. I think the periphery is probably more 'black and white' i.e higher contrast, which might make signs of movement more apparent.... just guessing.
