  1. I recommend a short sci-fi story from Isaac Asimov. Really interesting combination of science and bogus. http://multivax.com/last_question.html
  2. Today I learned that the modern jet engine was invented by the Bucharest-born inventor Henri Coanda in 1910.
  3. Today I learned that in 1386 a pig in France was executed by public hanging for the murder of a child. https://www.thevintagenews.com/2016/10/21/medieval-animal-trials-in-europe-a-pig-sentenced-to-death-by-hanging-for-murder/
  4. Ok let's go back to basics. Mordred disproved your gibberish a few posts ago. AH, please explain to me what do you mean the view is shrinking?
  5. What do you mean from us? We can see past it. We can see galaxies that are receding at more than the speed of light. Take a minute to process that. I needed quite a few.
  6. No. The universe itself Is expanding at an increasing rate not matter. There is no real "Edge" AH. Galaxies are moving further away from each other.
  7. Can you please supply any base for your ideas? Any real data? How can I accept your "new groundbreaking" idea without any arguments/proof/study. It's like me saying that Magical Unicorns were having tea and one dropped a biscuit from such a big distance that it Caused the Big Bang. I bet you cannot disprove that, it's just highly unlikely. No one is trying to make anything fit to an old idea. I am just more tempted to believe countless validated data more than your baseless speculation.(Section in Which this should be move to).
  8. Can you please present this (non-existent) data? Can you apply this data to your idea and explain please. Also It has been mentioned by Strange in another thread: Again... space is expanding faster than the speed of light. I urge you to watch this video before replying. Don't concentrate on the actual numbers given just the general idea.
  9. I might add for clarification that the Universe is expanding faster than the speed of light. So the expansion is not the gravitational pull from matter outside of the observable universe as you suggested.
  10. AbnormallyHonest, the Universe is expanding at the same rate in all directions (symmetrically). Nothing is pulling the objects that are closer to the edge of the observable universe more than other objects. My speculation: matter is not infinite but the Universe is. I don't think anyone knows for a fact if there is more observable matter than not yet observed but again I would guess that there is more matter that is not observable. I could also ask you, If you think that there is gravity (from something) pulling matter from each direction why is it equal in each direction? and also How did that "matter" get there if you think that that "matter" is causing the expansion of the Universe. Was it also "pulled" by something else or is it a multiverse theory that you are trying to suggest? and that these "bubbles" are expanding towards each other? Also I did not bring up dark energy (which is a possible cause for the expansion and the acceleration of the expansion of the universe) to be the cause of the expansion as you were asking about some "matter" that's pulling the universe and dark energy is a property of a vacuum.
  11. Aluminium/tin foil will really work. It will also look horrible.
  12. Thank you and I know this, I was referring to factors outside of these two that I gave as example. Like the position of the earth relative to the sun. (considering the elliptical orbit)
  13. Yes but caused by what exactly? I mean I know an object weights more on the poles for example than at the equator and even the density of the ground can have a very slight effect but I really don't know how and what affects the object the most regarding factors outside of these.
  14. If I have a very accurate scale and place a weight of exactly 1 Kg at a certain time, leaving it there and observing it over a prolonged period of time. Will there be any variations caused by the movement of the objects in our Solar system?
  15. So you are saying that the "edge of the universe" is 96 billion light years away? And what's more, it's shrinking? I don't know what the opposite of the word science is but you are displaying it now. The universe did not expand from that singular point in order to set light free. By expanding the space you are suggesting a finite universe right? Why can't the universe be infinite and just the distance between objects is increasing? Please quote properly AbnormallyHonest as it's a bit difficult. I mean just by reading I can clearly tell the difference between what Mordred said and what you say but still...
  16. Wow, you guys unearthed this post after so much time. I am not even sure all the original participants are still alive. See how you can only see the top of the last ship that is also the furthest? If anyone thinks that the earth is flat I have 2 questions? 1: Where is this edge of the earth exactly? 2: Why hasn't anyone taken a pictures of the edge of the earth? Is it guarded by "them"?
  17. A lot of Kool-Aid has been consumed by some members participating in this thread.
  18. To speed up the extinction of mankind
  19. Humans share approximately 98% of their DNA with chimps, 70% with slugs, and 50% with bananas. What do you mean 4% Neanderthal? *By share I mean that they encode a functionally equivalent molecule and share a common ancestral gene in the common ancestor of bananas and humans.
  20. Today I learned that a bottle nose dolphin's brain is 1.5 to 1.7 kg and is heavier than human's brain 1.3 to 1.5 kg. But we all know which one is the more advanced species:
  21. Unfortunately, me and you are the same species too but we have slightly different genes. If they take my DNA and yours they will be able to tell us apart. Again a dumb example. Drop the absolute truth idea Randolpin. Accept that all the "absolute truths" that we come up with are just meant to make you feel meaningful. "Realize that all your life, all you know, all your love, all your hate, all your memories, all your pain - it was all the same thing. It's all the same dream, a dream that you had inside a locked room, a dream about being a person." (Rustin Cohle)
