  1. 'Forgiving' doesn't have a set definition/meaning.
  2. Yes, which is why I call religion an evolutionary trait….
  3. That's true but isn't this dependent on your 'mindset'? Many people wronged me in some way, but I don't hold grudges and after a while I just forgave them. But their wrong-doing is still in my mind. Forgiving is not the same as forgetting. When someone steals my cellphone, I will never forgive him. That doesn't mean I hold a grudge.
  4. How is your biological and psychological health 'saved' when you forgive people?
  5. Yes, if that's something you know you should do. So when someone steals your cellphone, you forgive him? When someone throws acid in your face you forgive him?
  6. All animals have a near death experience just before they die.
  7. That's true, but many people think religion/religious thought had it's origin in our culture so then it's logic, for those people, not to call religion an evolutionary trait. Evolution = change over time...you can call everything an evolutionary trait but why would you do that? You imo only call something an evolutionary trait when it's clear it evolved somehow
  8. Seriously? And what if you don't have children? And what with all those people that are weeks/months away to earn money to feed their children? Many/Most people don't have the capabilities to obtain healthy food or simply don't care for healthy food. Many people's income/job causes pollution and have to (mis)use natural resources. For example, people that cut down rainforest do that to earn money(often to be able to feed their family), not because they like it. And what if you live in a country like Somalie, South Sudan or Syria? It seems like you haven't been outside your village and thinks everyone lives like you do.
  9. I have Mentos and coke I find alcohol a bit 'expensive' to do this. Can't I turn the bottle upside-down (then egg get's stuck in bottle opening) and put ice on the bottlebut to increase the pressure? It's a small bottle that used to contain chili sauce.
  10. There is this 'experiment' to suck an egg into a bottle by lowering the pressure with heat. Is there a way to remove the egg from the bottle without using vinegar and baking soda?
  11. Is there evidence that only expanding space lengthens waves?
  12. From the wikipedia: "The anti-cancer drug imatinib has recently been shown to reverse the graying process. However, it is expensive and has potentially severe and deadly side effects, so it is not practical to use to alter a person's hair color. Nevertheless, if the mechanism of action of imatinib on melanocyte stem cells can be discovered, it is possible that a safer and less expensive substitute drug might someday be developed. It is not yet known whether imatinib has an effect on catalase, or if its reversal of the graying process is due to something else."
  13. Imo when you observe (or measure) reality, then your imagination leads to understanding of the reality. Einstein said: "Knowledge is limited. Imagination encircles the world." Interesting video:
  14. I probably misinterpret this, but don't you basically mean that quantum spin is a physical spin analogous to the spin of a planet?
  15. Melanocytes are particularly vulnerable to oxidative stress. When you grow older, your body creates less endogenous anti-oxidants.(like catalase, peroxide dismutase and glutathione) Then reactive oxygen species damage you melanocytes, which can give gray hair. By sporting, you form reactive oxygen species (ROS) which form oxidative stress. As a defense mechanism your body creates endogenous anti -oxidants which can slow down certain symptoms you get from growing older.
  16. There are many causes so an all in cure can't exist. I have a neuromuscular disease and premature ejaculation, probably due to damaged neurons and problematic blood circulation. There are condoms with a neuromuscular blocking or numbing agent. Do those condoms help? What's your BMI?
  17. Damaged myelin in the peripheral nervous system(PNS) is causal related to disorders and injuries. When the cell body of a neuron in the peripheral nervous system is mostly intact then a damaged myelin sheath can generally regenerate due to schwann cells (and other properties of neurons in PNS). In your central nervous system such regeneration is extremely unlikely, their are many reasons for this. I think myelin is necessary for neurotransmission/signal propagation. Myelin insulates nerve cell axons to increase the speed at which information (encoded as an electrical signal) travels from one nerve cell body to another. If all myelin is gone in a neuron, then it's no longer a 'working' neuron.
  18. Correct, I think.. In general, you need to know/learn/recognize someone's level of understanding/comprehension concerning a certain subject matter. You can call it 'cognitive empathy'.
  19. This might come as a surprise but I'm very old. I saw the dead sea when it was still the sick sea.
  20. The words I used don't change the content of that video. It's not a result from String Theory. When Gerard 't hooft created the holographic principle, it had nothing to do with String Theory.
  21. Like when you use detectors in a double slit experiment. Those detectors detect photons and in doing so, they stop the wave. (observing changes the phenomenon) Physics is what we say of the universe trough experiments. In those experiments you need to observe stuff (via measuring devices). When you observe something, you change the phenomenon. It seems that observer effect 'caused' the uncertainty, wave-particle duality...the seemingly randomness... Also, the observer effect is not necessary linked to physics. The Hawthorne effect (also an observer effect) is a reaction in which individuals modify an aspect of their behavior in response to their awareness of being observed. In clinical trials to test drugs/supplements/therapies the observer effect can cause placebo-effects. Placebo-controlled studies are a way of testing a medical therapy in which, in addition to a group of subjects that receives the treatment to be evaluated, a separate control group receives a sham "placebo" treatment which is specifically designed to have no real effect. Wildlife is often very sensitive for the presence of humans. This also an observer effect. Or for example, you can't know the inside of a tree without 'cutting it down'. The observer effect occurs in all areas of science.
  22. Whether you call it a real wave or particle is your semantic choice. If you want to observe/measure a wave, you stop the wave behavior.
  23. The Observer effect and Uncertainty principle are the same? -When you try to observe/measure a wave(momentum) it becomes a particle(position).
  24. Being homosexual allows 'you' to take care for the offspring of your pack or family since 'you' have no offspring. In humans, this changed, but in (other) animals you can still see this. In lion packs young male members are generally chased away by the leading male(s), when the young males start to show interest for the females of the pack. If a young male is homosexual then he will not show interest in females and will not be chased away by the leading male(s). So that lion pack will become a lot stronger. It's a silly title but that's called the gay uncle hypothesis.
