Hello In regards to laboratory machines such as mass spectrometers, electron microscopes, sterilization units, etc. Who are the leading manufacturers and suppliers? Are there any large companies that produce everything from spectrometers to hot plates or do all these products have separate manufacturers? Thanks for your time, Regards, Pyroglycerine

Recently I had a drink but cannot recall the name. What made it interesting is that it was very sweet with no artificial sweeteners, and yet had only 5 calories per cup. The contents had a pulpy type substance that was not pulp. I suppose I could compare it somewhat to bubble tea but the pulpy stuff was more stringy. What separated this drink from others is I believe the pulpy type stuff delivers the sweet sensation by landing on the tongue while most of the other contents were likely water. I would say it was a sweet as pop or juice in taste. I half think this belongs in Chemistry and half think it belongs in Biology, so I placed it here. Maybe …

Is sport a sign of evolutionary specialization? Sport is a sign of - a) civility as opposed to savageness of early man b) mental focus as opposed to mental disorientation in early man c) co-ordination among a team as opposed to dog-eat-dog scenarios of early man Sport is actually very cerebral. It involves precision and skill. It is something early man could not have conceived. I could hardly visualize early man competing in a tree-swinging contest. Is sport then a concomitant of superior neuronal intelligence? Your views will be appreciated.

Unbelievably Strong Glass - New Revolution in making thin Glass This is a new type of glass which will be manufactured in the future. It will replace ordinary glass in the near future. It will also be used by mobile phone manufacturers. This type of glass is the strongest glass in the world. It is ten times stronger than ordinary glass. It is resistant to scratching and hard impacts, which is presented in the test. In the test, we will use two steel balls and two glasses for shattering. The first glass is made of the new type of glass, while the second one is made of ordinary glass that is currently used.

How real is the scenario predicted by futurist Raymond Kurzweil that we are fast approaching the point of singularity when AI will overtake human intelligence and a singularity will be reached. (which in this context means a defining or irreversible transition)? Please opine.

What exactly is trance? And why does it appeal to some (or the esoteric few)? Is it the complete stabilization of emotional response, neither diffident nor bold, neither hot nor cold, neither perceptive nor ignorant? How is this state of "bliss" defined in terms of hormones and neurotransmitters? eg) when we are angry or agitated then this balance is disturbed which retroactively disturbs the balance even further. Similarly excessive shyness and aloofness are not sociable traits. In both these cases the energy balance is disturbed and there are kinetic vectors that drive an individual to anti-social behavior. Is there some nascent harmony latent in each indiv…

I'm working on concepts for an animated series about a motorsport in the distant future. One of the main characters, a big competitor in said sport, is from an alien civilization of velociraptor-like people. The problem is their eyes: With their eyes in those natural positions, and the fact that she'd be riding forward on a high-speed vehicle, would her eyes put her at a disadvantage? Or would they give her an advantage?

I've been working on concepts for an animated series about a futuristic motorsport. One of the riders in this sport who will get the most focus is a girl from a race of velociraptor-like people from another planet. The problem is the raptor's eyes. If her eyes are in those locations in her head, and she spends most of her time riding a high speed vehicle forward, would her eyes give her a disadvantage? If not, could they give her an advantage instead?

Hi I'm trying to get some feedback for this new terran computational calendar that I've implemented: It utitlizes zero-based numbering Contains 13 identical months of 28 days each Contains an additional short Month Zero containing only new year's day and a single leap year day every four years (with the exception of every 128 years) Synchronized with the northern winter solstice Starts 10 days before the UNIX Epoch "Its "terran" inception and unit durations reflect the human biological clock and align with astronomical cycles and epochs. Its "computational" notation, start date, and algorithm are tailored towards the mathematicians & scientists tasked with calend…

There is a debate going on in a gaming forum that I'm apart of that has to do with Free Thinking(Freewill) and why people come to different conclusions. Now personally I think this is more of a stupidity argument rather than a Free Thinking, but I'll present it here to get some outside information. The argument is pretty much this: If you take two people and give them an article about something, why do they come to different conclusions with the exact same information. For example: I give two separate people the exact same information on Man Made global warming. The information is factual proof that global warming exists. Now one person reads the informati…

I cant pick a major I want to go to school and I am interested in many subjects. Most of them involving science. I have slimmed it down to four but I don't know if that is too many. Accounting: Taxes, dealing with money and credit scores Psychology:Sociology, abnormal psychology and dealing with children and dealing with coworkers and presenting yourself. Parsitology: covers chemistry, microbiology, and computer knowledge. physics: Psychology and accounting will help you at life and help you get a job. Everyone needs to deal with money and taxes everyday and psychology helps you understand how to deal with people. You also need to have …

I have some questions that i really would like to know the answer to. Please be as detailed as possible and justify and conclusions. Thanks 1. What would happen if the earth were to stop rotating? 2. What happens in a black hole? My theory is that nothing actually disappears but rather breaks up into millions of pieces and therefore seems like something has disappeared 3. Will it ever be possible to cut through the centre of the earth? E.g. from australia to japan 4. Why do i wake up before something happens?E.g. a poster falling down. I don't know it is going to happen but there i am, suddenly awake lying there wondering why i am awake and then 5 seconds later, t…

Velociraptors had eyes at the sides of their heads right? If that's the case, and since it had binocular vision, could this dinosaur see better or worse than humans?

I am not particularly weak when it comes to solving problems in Math,Physics and Chemistry. Instead, I enjoy doing problems. I particularly like difficult problems. Even in tests, I am pleased if the questions asked are unseen and all students stand a fair chance to score. That aside, I wish to know if problem solvers, like those who can solve complex problems of rigid body dynamics, integral calculas etc, really contribute to mainstream? Are all physicist know to be extraordinary problem solvers? Also, how much practice did you do with problens? Thanks.

Hi, I am a student looking for a material for a project at school. I am currently studying mechanical engineering so the chemistry and materials aspect is a bit over my head. We're working on a concept to develop a more ergonomic chair and would like to find a material that would be comfortable to sit on. My vision would be a bunch of gel-like spheres that could be electrically stimulated and move around due to a current passed over them. Also maybe create heat as a by product. Basically a comfortable thing to sit on that would be able to vibrate a bit. I've been trying to find stuff online but my limited knowledge of gears and beams isn't helping too much. Any h…

Freedom , Initiative, and the great Wave The silver mill pond, expansive threads, tranquil, still and untouched. Forever yours and yours alone despite the clamour of lifes cyclone. the individual only bears the right, to touch this medium of light. yet once set free by a mark of thought, will never, ever, return with nought. As now it lays, awaiting , unmarked, Forever, ready, to be sparked. The mystery is! from where does it come?, creative thought! its born alone. Soon to fade, like cobwebs in the dew, lest a favoured lodging place does ensue. Only its host can provide a way, to give this newborn, energy. But now with impetus and ownership, the …

Self learning oneself science can be difficult, so I am going to give some quotes of my understanding and I am looking for true or false for answers with corrections please! 1. Centripetal force in isotropic direction attracting matter will create a dense nucleus. 2. Centrifugal force in isotropic direction from a central point of grouping of matter will create a less density of the matter in a x volume of space. I will start with these two to see how my understanding is.

I want to get some new ideas for concepts that relate to photography. I will start with two of my favorite techniques. My favorite and most important rule is the rule of thirds. If you want to make a picture interesting, then you want it to follow this rule. NEVER place the main subject directly in the center of the frame. If you are shooting portraits, then you will, at best, end up with a pretty mugshot. Imagine a tic-tac-toe that evenly divides your frame. The goal is to try to stay out of the center block. You can organize the viewer's attention by guiding him or her around the frame. This can help you tell a story by managing their attention in sequence. An…

I hope it isn't a foolish question. What is the farthest down that archaeologists have gone and still found evidence of a civilization? When I read of one site over an older site and sometime a third site beneath that, I wonder. Thank you.

I wonder what the history of the diaper is? How long have humans worn diapers, did the middle ages, egyption, meso-americans, maybe even before homo sapiens? My son has had me wondering this for awhile and I can't find anything about it online.

Truely falling under the category of "Other Sciences" . . . what do you think? I had PTSD a while back and had to take estrogen. It's why his mastoid processes were so large. I guess we'll call this a military science discussion.

There is several types of sciences but what if someone wanted to study all of them? Most schools will make you pick a major and a minor and suggest your minor fit your major or compliments it. What if you just wanted to study different sciences? Like Chemistry, psychology, biology, computer science. Science and math can be applied to everything in the world. Why are there no overall science degrees?
