Okay so we're doing a seed germination prac in biology and I'm not really sure how to figure out the concentration values. I'm investigating the effects of concentration of aquasol fertilizer on the length of seedlings. So the aquasol that we were provided with was already diluted (i think 80% concentrated with aquasol. We further diluted this solution to the concentrations that we wanted which was 0% 25%, 50%, 75% of aquasol. I noticed that other people had written their concentrations as 0.5%, 1%, 1.5% and 2% but I'm not sure how they got these values? Hope that made sense!

I would like to construct a TM, that can accept words like these: tmtm or samesame. I plan to use up 3 tapes for this and copy all the symbols one by one from input to 2nd tape. Don't know, when and how should I examine back the copied characters. How should I know, where is half part?

Don't need you to answer tue problems, just give me a point of where to start, i know i have to apply the Henderson-Hasselbatch equation, but i don't know where to start, any help will be thankfull. 1. To maintain a stable hydroponics is preferable to provide a buffer for irrigation rather than pure water. This is because of the osmotic pressure generated by the presence of salts that allows migration of water into the plant cells. So, you need to prepare a buffer solution of 0.5M phosphates, pH 7. You have NaH2PO4 and Na2HPO4. How many kg of each salt you need to prepare 100L of this buffer? 2. Buffering is essential for growing animal tissues in lab. An abrupt c…

I have a question which involves working out the final speed of a falling object when it hits the deck. All I am given in the question is the height, the acceleration due to gravity and obviously the initial speed, i.e. 0 m/s The context of the question is in relation to rearranging equations and substitution. The block has covered basic velocity, acceleration, momentum and potential/kinetic energy equations. Any guidance gratefully appreciated.

Hi, Simple question, Can a standard T-test be used for two sets of data which has about 5 values ? I am trying to find diffrences in growth between two bacterial strains at a certain temperature , i was going to do the T-test but i read somewhere that a t-test needs atleast 10 values in your data sets.

I would like to start by giving some little informations about the currency am using. N stands for Naira and k for kobo. 100 kobo = N1 Here we go: Find the gain or loss made by a shareholder who buys 90 75k shares at 70k each and sells them at 76k each. Market price for each share = CP, cost price for each share = 70k CP for 90 shares = [MATH](70\times90)k[/MATH] = 6300k = N63 Selling price for 90 shares = [MATH](76\times90)k[/MATH] = 6840k = N68.4 From want we have obtained so far, we can see that the share holder made gain. He made gain of N(68.4-63) = N5.4 My concern here is that the answer provided for the question is not saying the same thing as th…

Hello. Well, it's not exactly for homework, but I wasn't sure where to post this question. So anyway, I'm in the middle of writing a fiction book right now after I finally finished my nonfiction a few days ago, and one of the plot point is a decade of global blackout caused by low earth orbit EMP that was deliberately triggered to prevent an imminent nuclear apocalypse. Is it plausible? If it is, how big of an explosion, or how many of them are needed to cause a decade of global blackout?

Hi i am new here and this is not homework more of a personal project so basically looking to make a real life model of the periodic table with examples of the elements. I was thinking of buying separate compartments for each element then assemble them together but cant seem to find them on the internet could someone help me out looking for compartments roughly maybe 15cm by 15cm.

Hello Folks, I'm a Biochemistry student trying to do some extra work over the summer and to get ahead in my next year at university. I've been doing some problems/questions based on what is available for download at my university intranet site/black board. One of the practice questions has me stumped and I hoped to ask for some help if at all possible? The whole point of the exercise is to calculate the maximum realizable ATP yield per mole of myristic acid being fully oxidized to CO2 and H2O in a skeletal muscle cell under aerobic conditions. I'm trying to understand the step-by-step calculation so as to compare to other substrates such as glucose if that makes s…

Hi all I basically need some help with interpreting my MIC results. I have carried out a MIC test on some raw materials against my bug. Bacterial inoculum was at 0.6 OD. Used a 96 well A to H microtire plate. Obviously made serial dilutions of the raw materials, now some of my raw materials were liquid so i used them straight away (100%) but some were solids so i had to dilute them first with with sterile water. I made a 1 in 2 dilution so put in 10g of solid raw material in to 20 g water. So thier starting percentage was 50%, and then the serial dilutions were made from Column 2 (total vol of column 2 was 200ul as i had 100ul sterile water and 100ul of ra…

Hi, Not sure if this should be in homework help ? I need to test pH levels of an organism, basically to find out at what pH it grows best, where it stops etc. I have decided on a pH range. I intend to use LB broth/BHI as the growth medium for bacteria (in which i will inoculate my bacteria). (My bacteria is from Enterobactericiae, closely related to E.coli) The pH range i am going for is 3.5, 4.5, 5.5, 6.0, 6.5, 7.0, 7.5, 8. I know certain buffers which are capable of maintaining these pH ranges, and that I can also adjust the pH with NaOH and HCl. But I do not know how I will make my media with these specific pH levels using buffers and how I will mai…

I am a member of the school of hardknocks, I hope that's okay. For my homework assignment, I have to design a means to move 2 billion people into space per year. What I came up with is an octagonal spacescraper with 8 StarTrams. Height 200 km Width 38.63 km Weight 3.15 exagrams Floors 54,681 Floor Area 41,994,750 km^2 I just used the Burj Khalifa and scaled it. I am thinking I oversimplified the problem. I decided to build it in Antarctic and remove the same amount of weight of ice. I also made it a little wider to be on the safe side. I was also thinking that I would need airlocks every so many floors.…

I choose "Custom Wordpress Theme" as study project. I started working on "SRS" as it is due Tue 4 Aug, 2015. Just wanted to discuss because it will further enhance my work but not sure how would I do so? Publicly pasting my work will open the risk of being copied. Right now, I am finished with doing "Scope of Project" and "Functional and non Functional Requirements". Next will be "Use Case Diagram(s)" and will be dependent on preceding steps. Just wanted someone to review my work and I move forward. Unfortunately, there could be no one except internet whom I can show my work.

In New Scientist 21 May 2002, attempts by Israeli scientists to develop a feather free breed of chicken were described. Supposedly better tolerance to heat and more efficient production would result, i. e. no feed going into the production of inedible feathers which would be discarded. Does anyone know what became of this project or have additional information? Thanks in advance.

Hi I am making a formulation and i dont know how much water to add in there. The base mixture is is 2000g in total, and has 736.716 g of water (% w/w is 36.8358) I need to make the mixture to be 5% of a raw material, 6% of a raw material, and 8% of a raw material. I have calculated how much raw material i need to add in grams for example, 5% of raw material A mixture will contain 100g of material A, but i am having problems with calculating the amount of water i need to add to each of these % mixtures. can anyone help me help calculate the amount of water in grams i need to add to the 5% mixture ? help please
