Consider this the third : things that piss me off thread. Not that i'm that pissy about it, i'm just going to make a proposition, and i'll make it in a sec. For the record, the first was on Stupid CD-RW disc, and the second was on Hot Pockets. Well i have come to an idea that all people on the planet should be catagorized into those who undestand how time does exist, and those who think it dont. Those who think it dont will be shipped to the moon to continue their line of inferior genes, without contaminating ours. The only exceptions will be hot girls. But really i think there is a completely seperate psychology for those people who think time doesn't exist. How…

  4. Over here in the US there's a lot of controversy surrounding the use of black boxes (in cars), red light cameras, speed cameras, and radar jammers. Here's what they are, just so you know: BLACK BOXES keep track of data such as throttle, brake usage, and seat belt use for something like 30 seconds before a crash. (The memory only holds that much, and it continually recycles the memory space until a crash). They are often used in accident investigations to determine who did what. But people claim that the boxes are an invasion of their privacy. RED LIGHT and SPEEDING CAMERAS detect if a car is running a red light/speeding and will then take a picture of the …

Getting ready to test out the new chess system. Anyone want to play me? It's not a realtime system, so the game might take a few days to complete. All you have to do is login and make a move when it's convenient.

I've never been overseas before. My mother's family is from England and I'm going to a wedding. (Suffolk, near Woodbridge, if anyone knows the area). I'm leaving from Dulles and arriving at Heathrow, and will be gone from the last week in September thru the first week of October. I've checked Expedia, Travelocity and Yahoo - I can get a Continental flight round trip for $426, British Airways has one for about $550. I have heard BA has better service, which has some importance to me, since I will be flying alone. I applied for my passport a couple of weeks ago - I should have it in plenty of time. The tickets are non-refundable, should I wait for my passport befo…

What is your favorite place to go on vacation? I prefer Sanibel Island, Florida, which is right off of Fort Myers. The best part is that there's no fast food restaurants, no neon signs, and no chain restaurants (except for a Dairy Queen that squirted through). Everything else is native to the island, and they have the best food. Plus there's great shelling (I found a 1-foot + LIVE shell!) and sunsets... What are yours?

Phil Hendrie does that alot. Notice how they never speak at the same time as eachother, even when one interupts the other. They're the same guy... it's just to get other people to phone in and argue with fake people. The Phil Hendrie show has lots of awesome interviews like that so get the torrents. Sorry for bursting the bubble.

  16. note that i am an audiophile, and i want a decent 2.1 speaker system. been looking round and i am not sure what to buy. i am very close to buying Altec Lansing VS4121 . altough its quite expensive and with less money i could buy a 6.1 creative inspire6100 set. except i will have to buy an external soundcard for me laptop which costs quite a lot. so lets have your opinions.

I think I should make it tradition to make a thread daily of something that pisses me off. Today it's hot pockets. If you in UK, might not know what i mean, but surely you have some similar food product: breadish pouch with stuff inside, usually some meat combined with cheese. They are kept in the freezer, then microwaved in a jacket of some type of metalish stuff that doesn't burn. Well you microwave them for the given time and take them out. SOMEHOW both ends are so hot that the leaking cheese scalds me, and YET the meat and cheese in the center of the pocket is STILL FREAKING FROZEN. The pockets aren't that big, i don't understand how such a range in temperature o…

Burnable CDs i stole from my dads office. I burn, and then i cant access the songs, accept we this fancy five-changer stereo mabobber, and it does work on that, but in any of the other players it doesn't even seem to start spinning. I might be able to figure out by simply asking my dad what kind of CDs that he bought (it doesn't say on them, they are completely blank accept a serial number), but the purchase was crap, probably because he didn't know what he was buying. Like those garbage bags without the ties. My parents need to let me do the shopping, cause no offense but they aren't competent buyers. So do you know what the problem is so i can buy my own blanks …

I apologize in advance if this has already been posted before, but have you guys seen this yet? http://www.mchawking.com/ It's a Stephen Hawking gangsta rap parody that's really well done. You can download sample MP3s here: http://www.mchawking.com/multimedia.php?page_function=mp3z There are only 2 free downloads now, but there used to be dozens. Most of the songs talk about science, but a few are political, and a few others talk about gaming.

First off, i admit i am an idiot, and i actually respect the authority for censoring me on occasion (talking about the mods on this site of coarse, i hold no such respect for my national government). But since i have nothing better to do i am going to question the authority. Over my time here I have had several posts deleted for being disgustingly off topic. I thought they were at least worthy of remaining for humor. Again i admit my humor is often stupid, so its good you edit me. but since i have nothing better to do . . . However i believe there is an unfair judging system as to which off topic replies are allowed. For instance, in the debate forums, i posted a …

Since we don't have an official Anthropology section, I think this question is better posted here plus I want an extra benefit of a debate. While at this time, I do not want to participate in the debate myself(unless I need to - don't want to bias my own question ) I would like to see a debate on the following issue between our members here. -------------- College tuition is expensive, if one is going even for a Bachelor's degree in any particular subject. It is even more expensive if one goes to a private school or a highly specialized school eg: Medical School, Law School, etc. Students who choose to strip (male or female) at a local bar (or partici…
