I appear to be in the minority that does not get a small red triangle with each post. I fear I am being discriminated against. What am I doing wrong? How do I get one, and If you have one, how did you get yours?

To my horror I awoke this morning to find my cat lapping up water from the cup on my bed side table and realised this has probably been going on for months even years. I'm not too worried more disguisted of the thought of drinking my cats saliva, but do you think there could be anything I could catch from this sharing of drinks? I know one things for sure, I'm going to use a bottle from now on.

Oh the tragedy! Chased by followers of the cult that resemble Agent smith, but with more density and ignorance than a racist. I've actually developed a fear of scientology after hearing of their incessant antics and borderline harassment. Its just the words of lrh that resonate in my mind, to paraphrase breifly, his smoke test performed on bacteria essentially stating that its learned behavior. thats not even an experiment! the basis of my fear results from people so blindly and without question putting themselves in the hands of the scientologist healthcare (and belief system).

I'm going to a Mountain concert today! It's one of my favorite bands so I'm really psyched. Are there any other Mountain fans who are jealous of me?

This is awesome: http://www-ed.fnal.gov/projects/scientists/index1.html Seventh graders were asked to draw a picture and write a description of a scientist. After doing so, their class visited Fermilab. Following their visit, they were asked to draw another picture and write another description. It makes for quite the juxtaposition... as you might be able to guess their perceptions were radically altered by real-world interaction with scientists, rather than what the media and movies have always told them they were supposed to believe scientists were.

Valentine's Day has to be the most depressing time of the year. Everybody is giving each other flowers, balloons, candy, and cards. They are saying how much they care about each other. Today, I received no flowers, no balloons, no candy, and no cards. Nobody told me that they cared about me. In fact, nobody really even talked to me today. I suppose I am just one of those people who were meant to be lonely. I never really decided to live a lonely life. In fact, I tried to ask a girl to go out on a date with me, but she just said no. I guess it was wrong for me to ask her. I know I'm not a great person, so she will be much happier without me. I could also s…

But the time We Have is limited. Please post's your thoughts on this. Is Time Limited? And if you wanna be really helpful you can think of a flashy speech I could use to bum her out with tommorow... or you know just one line would be fine Thanx Shizaam!

Hey, do you guys get you mom something on valentine's day? I know there are some who do not participate in this tradition. Do you or not? I was suprised when I found out that my roommates didn't, and the concept was foreign to them, so perhaps its not as widespread as I had thought.

Hi, I'm new to this forum but though I'd share a newfound solution to a problem I'd been having for a long time. I have a spreadsheet of compounds along with various properties and common uses etc... which I like to be able to sort by use, or molucular mass for example. My problem was that I could easily sort those sorts of thing, but when it came to sorting the compound names themselves I was stuck!!!! Has anyone else had this problem? Anyway, I thought there might be something in Excel you could use to help, and after literally DAYS of searching the Web I stumbled cross a little known add in for excel called 'Chemical Sorting' which lets you ignore parts of the …

It started as a quiet evening in the SFN bar. JohnB and Tetrahedrite had been sharing a few rum and cokes while enjoying a companionable silence. Glider was in the far corner finishing off his thesis on "Insanity in The Scientific Community Online". Snail had obviously got in a while before we had, the trails were getting decidedly unsteady. Most of the usual crowd were here and we knew Pangloss was due soon by the large number of seagulls wandering about. JohnB was pondering his future as a professional exhibitionist while Tetra was suffering a crisis of conscience. Should he reveal the existence of the 50 kilo nugget of a new and totally unknown mineral combination …

Ever since learning to integrate in high school Calculus, I've been curious as the the physical meaning of the integral of position w/ respect to time. Over the years, the topic has come up again and again in my mind, and have finally decided to put an end to my pondering; or at least let others ponder with me. Is there any firm grasp of the concept of the meter-second already in existence? Is there a good use for this? I have come to call the integral of position wrt time "longevity" as that seems to be the best term in my mind to describe it. From what I have been able to determine with some simple thinking is that longevity can be related to amount of energy…
