Are there any more audio/video recording for download? That one by Richard Dawkins has been on the home page for quite some time now. It was very cool. Just wondering if there's others yet to come.

Well when you want to post a poll thread you hit post after saying "yes this is a poll thread" You Then have to enter the poll options in a seperate page. Now you'd have thought ahha this is ok it wont have posted the rest of my thread yet, but NO it does so if you want to prepare something to go live in say 5 hours time you CAN'T!

Is there any way we can report abuse from an admin using his power improperly?

According to the message that comes up when you hit the "report post" button, the button is not intended to report posts that were posted in the wrong forum. I don´t know how much posts get reported these days but when I still had access to the reported posts forum it wasn´t too much. In fact I have sometimes used the button for that purpose and not yet gotten any negative feedback because of that. Imho, a lot of threads that should be in Speculations stay in the physics sections quite long, even though people reposonding there explicitely state that it was the wrong forum. What about allowing the report post function to be used to report threads that ended up in the wron…

If you have feedback on the new organization of the forums, post it here, please. We'd like to compact the front page down a bit while making everything nice and logical.

I can't post in http://www.scienceforums.net/forum/showthread.php?p=330294 It's happened to me twice now (I didn't try again after the first time). On the quick post it just takes forever and doesn't do anything after leaving it for ~10 mins. On the advanced post page it forwards to http://www.scienceforums.net/forum/403.shtml ...

I was reading a thread, and I thought to myself, "Hmm. This person did a biology experiment." I've done a few biology experiments myself, but I'm typically not the kind of person to share my experiments. However, I think it would be a nice addition to the board.

Anyone else notice the SFN logo is gone? Nevermind. This is in the announcements, which I rarely look at.

This isn't a complaint, but if somebody starts a thread on the book discussions, or news forum and it gets rejected, any chance of a PM please...explaining why. I wanted to discuss a book, but it clearly wasn't appropriate...I wasn't sure which mod to contact, not sure how it works, cheers Snail

With the closure of Philosoply & Religion, I need to know if there is any discussion regarding the potential closure of the politics forum.

To the administrator who moved my thread with the same title as above you cannot be a real science forum - just because you lack the insight on the topic raised. This is precisely why USA has a "NAZI" attitude towards physics. I will letting US Pentagon know about your science forum and will be stating for removal of this site from any science forum. You can count on it!!! It is attitudes such as yours as to why US Armed Forces lose all their wars, because scientific truths are hidden from the general public of USA. I don't expect to see this site operating again, and will be reporting you for inspection.

I know this has been answered a million times, but I am using math type and I want to know how to post it on forums. I know how to change mathtype into LaTex, but I don't know how to get the LaTex to show up in html.

I've noticed an annoying problem that just started ever since the SFN logo was updated with the falling snow effect. I didn't realize it had anything to do with it until now. But in the edit box, my cursor starts flickering as I scroll the SFN logo into view and completely disappears once it's fully in view. As soon as I scroll it off the screen, my cursor reappears and blinks normally. It's as if the effect is causing "cursor blinkage overload"... Anybody know how to fix that?

I was just wondering, why isn't there a Geology forum?

I think that there should be a few more smilies. I guess it might detract from the semi-formal manner of this forum. But i find them a great tool to expressing mood or ideas. Would you be open to any suggestions for new smilies. I think it would be fun to make some in Photoshop. LOL well thanks for your time.

Recently, I (and others) have noticed that SFN is slowing down quite a bit. I've also been having problems with corrupted images - sometimes the smilies show up as something else entirely (like half of a LaTeX image) or they don't show up at all until I hit Ctrl-F5. Is there anything we can do to help this?

hmm seems that the trend of inactivity on this forum is gettin worse, I just checked the number of posts made in the past day and it was an abismal 38. thats a far cry from where it was in april at 400 posts per day.

This is an idea that EvoN1020v just gave me. Quite simple, users submit questions and solutions to a forum that requires mod authorisation from the queue. Every week a question is allowed to be posted, and people then have a week to post their suggestions to the queue which are then all authorised when the next question is available. :s The only real problems I can see is getting people to submit them, and the mods time :s

No matter how many times I post It always shows me as having posted 68 times. It has been like this for a while now. What should I do?
