Does anyone know anything about W32.Beagle.AC@mm. Norton keeps finding it but can't fix it and every few minutes it pops up saying so. I tried deleting the file it says the problem is in, but it just comes right back. So we now have a premanent Norton window saying "you're computer is infected and you can't fix it. Hahahahaha."

I was reading through my parallel comp. book when I came across this sentence: If the bisection bandwidth of a network is w, the lower bound on the area in a two-dimensial packaging is Θ(w2), and the lower bound on the volume in a three-dimensional packaging is Θ(w3/2). This is where I stopped since I have no idea how and where they got these lower bounds from. Anybody here familiar with this? Maybe I should just stop reading this weird book.

Weird. I keep seeing favicons on tabs, seemingly at random. Sometimes it's an "S", sometimes a "B". I know these are not part of the site, because they sometimes appear on domains I control. Anyone know what they are? Are they a feature of some extension I didn't bother to read the documentation for?

I was looking around to find something to do over the summer, when I came across the idea of learning how to do computer animations. I saw two classes, one for Flash and one for "Basic Director." I'd like to know which you think is better, and what each does over the other. Thanks in advance!

I hope this isn't to over-the-top for this forum. I have some comments on the following example from a book of mine on parallel computing: Consider a computation running on a machine with a 1 GHz clock, 4-word cache line, single cycle accesss to the cache, and 100 ns latency to DRAM. The computation has a cache hit ration of 1 KB of 25% and 32 KB of 90%. Consider two cases: first, a single threaded execution in which the entire cache is available to the serial context, and second, a multithreaded execution with 32 threads where each thread has a cache residency of 1 KB. If the computation makes one data request in every cycle of 1 ns, in the first case the bandwi…

Hi, I'm confused there! ADSL and N-ISDN use extra frequency bands for more capacity, right? BUT, they are still analogue like dial-up? Am I right? David

I have just installed FreeBSD on my laptop....... and when I insert my PCMCIA network card after reboot, it shows this message: card bus 0: <network> at device 0.0 (no driver attached) vbb0: cardbus card activation failed I have search on the Internet for this, and people say there is NetBSD, which runs on just everything, but does that mean every platform, or every hardware? Secondly, is it possible to make a driver ourselves for FreeBSD? Albert

I have recently experienced problems between my Hewlett Packard psc 750 printer-scanner-copier and Microsoft Word XP. Whenever I print a document through File menu and print 1 copy, several (eg. 36 copies) are printed. I have looked at HP's site and Microsoft's site and can find no help on this subject. Have you had this problem? I really need answers. I am wasting a lot of paper and ink with thsi issue.
