Yes, some of that mathematics is quite involved.

 

My favourite scientist would have to be Euler, without a doubt. So many theorems and results:

 

[math]e^{i\pi} = -1[/math]

 

[math]\sum_{n=1}^{\infty} \frac{1}{n^2} = \frac{\pi^2}{6}[/math]

 

Major breakthroughs in topology, number theory, and a lot more.

 

And to top it all, he did a lot of his best work towards the end of his life, when he was blinded by cateracts! Amazing man.

Of course. However, I think Euler has the edge, considering the man went blind and still wrote new and inspiring mathematics.

well i could actually. u don't need eyes to visalise mathematics. not in those days anyway. i would be well impressed if it was a blind man who painted mona lisa though.

Try blindfolding yourself and then solving a particularly complex analysis problem.

Him I admire as both an Artist(I'm big into drawing/artwork) and as a Scientist.

I have two :-

1) Gauss, because of the sheer number of brilliant results he proved

2) Schrodinger, because without his great equation we won't have the beauty of quantum mechanix
