  1. A Hunter's Moon is the full moon after Harvest Moon. All 12 cycles of the moon are named in the US, the Hunter is Novembers.
  2. Are you simply stating gene's are triggered by enviroment, so enviroment is lead and genetics secondary?
  3. A description of the promises made that were not met, and so on: - http://www.hrw.org/backgrounder/asia/afghanistan/bonn1yr-bck.htm
  4. I still can't quite believe that the BBC decided to be so brutal about Ellen MacArthur. I suspect a sting of bitterness in that there reporter Matt Slater, who probably wanted to be a football reporter.
  5. And replace the members with a small shell script.
  6. Most new technology surrounding processers appears in servers first. IBM servers run on linux platforms. I think I'm following IBMs logic here
  7. No man is an Iland, intire of it selfe; every man is a peece of the Continent, a part of the maine; if a Clod bee washed away by the Sea, Europe is the lesse, as well as if a Promontorie were, as well as if a Mannor of thy friends or of thine owne were; any mans death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankinde; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee. ~ John Donne
  8. Time to switch all server contracts to IBM. Again.
  9. And these are the 10 most abundant elements in the earths core..... Odd socks AOL CD's Freemasons Lost Victorian scientists Bluetac Wrapping paper we've been saving Pogs Mafia Victims Superintelligent goldfish Fluff
  10. Intelligence is commonly used to describe the willingness to seek and disseminate new information, as in the central intelligence agency. So I guess the answer is yes.
  11. I suppose you could view it as a simple exercise. There is, however, a very high degree of risk involved in the attempt and a fair few have died in the process. Her skills as a sailor are far greater than most competetive sailors, as she's proven in the racing events. Ho hum.
  12. It was not a competition, just like the ascent of Everest was not a competition. It's about pushing the boundaries of human achievement. It was a remarkably hard feat to both endure and to achieve. You may not appreciate it as such, but that's due to your ignorance.
  13. Only the second person in the world to complete the attempt without a stop, and she broke the record. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/other_sports/sailing/4229079.stm http://www.teamellen.com/ellen-article-1225.html# Well done to her.
  14. All this is based on the assumption that power consumption will remain a constant. Market values dictate that the unit price of electricity will increase as capacity to produce is reduced, which will decrease power use on a sliding scale. Something else to consider is that only 5 > 7 % of the total power consumed in the US goes to domestic propertys. There is also a huge wastage of power across the national grid, it is a very inefficent method of transferring power due to the consumption fluctuating from one second to the next. The effect of the fluctuation is that the national grid is forced to always produce excess to cope with the demand.
  15. Beaten by my own smugness again. Dammint, when will I learn to research?
  16. Er, your toilet? Seriously, here's quite a good pratical page: - http://www.ems.psu.edu/~fraser/Bad/BadCoriolis.html
  17. Clearly Coral did not state that. Step off the anger bus, and relax. I think everybody should calm down a little, Coral has posted a lot of information to absorb and it's probably better to give it the due amount of time before posting a reply.
  18. Arrg, 'Avenue A, inc' on the link. I had to view the source to read the artical, my spyware guard prevented the page downloading. Interesting though!
  19. Old traffic lights, as in 'not new'. The first traffic lights were installed in 1868, and most probably used the old methods for colouring : - http://www.thestorefinder.com/glass/library/history.html
  20. Copper gives green glass, gold gives red, silver gives yellow. look for 'stained glass' in google, rather than 'traffic lights'.
  21. I eat more potato than steak, I'm still not a vegetation. Surely your not saying bigotry is ok so long as you have a larger flaw in your personality? I provided the evidence of the occurrence. Now your just trolling. For the sake of the image of Christianity, please show some decorum or common decency.
  22. Today we are engaged in a final, all-out battle between communistic atheism and Christianity. -- Sen. Joseph McCarthy That underlines the point for you. However, McCarthyism and Senator McCarthy are two different things. To be fair, your not really getting the points people are making. The oath is being forced on children. Saying that they can opt out is not going far enough to protect the constitutinal rights. For instance, take the case of MaryKait Durkee: - http://www.ffrf.org/awards/heroine/1998_durkee.php http://www.aclusandiego.org/fallbrookwebpage.htm MaryKait was forced to sue her school to protect her rights. That's really not allowing people to 'opt out' of the pledge.
  23. I once heard that tornadoes and cyclones are also affected by Coriolis force, causing them to rotate clockwise or anticlockwise. I suspect it's just an extrapolation from the plughole mistake. In reality, apparently pressure determines the direction of cyclones.
