Aliens from space (split from Time to talk about UFO's or now as the military calls them UAP's?)
If you listened to the pod-cast, maybe... You'd understand, just a little bit more, what the map might look like...😉

Why use the atomic bomb on Japan?
As I mentioned in my previous post, it's cogent to my argument; I don't care if it's you, or not, bc there's bugger all I can do about it and the mere allegation was motive enough for you to press the button trigger... 😉 This is a logical fallacy, in more than one way, for example, it's not a binery question; either you believe in nuclear antiproliferation or you're a bee keeper. I don't care about your justification for virtue signalling, if that's what floats your boat then all power to you; just don't expect me to clap. It's funny, other than the fact that I never deveated, according to the rules of 'Just a minute'.

Indeed you do... There's no such thing as a sentient iceburg,

Mostly, a path to knowledge doesn't include a mysterious or ghostly apparition; unless you believe it does...

Why use the atomic bomb on Japan?
I'm just happy that my locus of control is mine to influence, I don't care what you do with yours... 😉 Hmm, another neg for a reasonable post; it's getting difficult to not assume...

Your point being??? Hubris won't kill you, it just makes you unhappy, until you die wondering...

Why use the atomic bomb on Japan?
I don't, it was an assumption; which is cogent to the topic. Now where's the fun in that? 🧐 Bolded mine, is it though? This world has been walking a tightrope of disaster, since the revolution that produced a nuclear weapon, which, at best, is a tangential threat; bc there's absolutely nothing you or I can do, to stop the fuckwit that actually pressed the button, and it's not something we can change, unlike the less obvious potential disaster's...

Aliens from space (split from Time to talk about UFO's or now as the military calls them UAP's?)
It's essentially doing what you are, it presents compelling anecdotal testimonials, often with multiple sources, and presents it for consideration of the audience and two scientist's, one a believer and one a denier. It's a bit rich to demand scientific evidence in the context of this discussion.

Your thoughts on Neil deGrasse Tyson
My thoughts are, he's a good teacher at a certain level, IOW he's read at least two pages past his student's, but doesn't understand the question of puberty... I'm with @Eise +1, just late to the conversation...

We have a miriad of evidence that ghosts are real, yet no one, who didn't want too, has seen one; imagine the career of David Attenborough if he spent his time on TV trying to show us a unicorn instead of a dragon "I'm here at the last place on earth, to show you this magnificent creature, and there it is; no wait was that a donkey?"

TFG or That Florida Guy? Either way, can the GOP win in 2024?
Indeed, but as much as I'd like politics to always plow the middle furrow, I just hope the suffering is short and sharp, rather than a long and protracted deviation, which is what we could get if Trump was half as clever as he thinks he is. Most politicians don't get too, bc enough of the population usually get to vote, if the GOP get their way only white women and their rich husband's would get to.

The faster we achieve the political extreme's the faster the pendulum swings the other way, I just hope I don't have to suffer... 🙏

Assimov was very careful to sepperate that from his hyperspace fiction.

Overpopulation in 2023
Huxley was indeed prescient on the subject. Let's hope Nietsche was too.

Let's do it! Do what? All you've got ATM is, my bible is better than your scientific knowledge; I didn't think you liked that approach... Indeed. "God/alien's is the blanket we use to cover the unknowns and give it a shape." I think this was a quote from a roadie for the "Rolling Stones".

Indeed, trying to guess where they came from is a lot easier...

ZOMBIFICATION OF HUMANITY AND THE HERALD OF AI.
Again I cite "The parable of the madman", in which he's trying to shine a light that other's should follow (clearly a metaphorical teacher) and the efficiency of that struggle depends on the time of day (cometh the hour cometh the man). IOW what's the point of seeing the light (inner peace) if you can't point it out to other's, the village idiot who can't show why it's cathartic to stand by the side of the road and wave at traffic, will remain a madman in the eyes of the rest of us. It's literally the start of all the major religions, a teacher that shows us the path to peace, and I think Nietzche spent his life and his mental health in persuit of the path he assumed he was on, until the death of his father. Would we even have heard of this hugely intelligent man, had his father died peacefully in his old age? An ubermensche at the wrong time of day... This is a generic description of both, not a critique of either in the context of this topic. When are 'you' going to think about this?

ZOMBIFICATION OF HUMANITY AND THE HERALD OF AI.
It very much depends on who you believe, Aldus Huxley or George Orwell.

Was Nietzsche talking about the 2nd coming of Jesus?
What makes you believe that?
-
Was Nietzsche talking about the 2nd coming of Jesus?
Again point well missed, who are you to say what they believe in is nonsense, that seems arrogant to me, is what you believe truer? In the words of Jimmy Carr "there are two types of idiot in this question, those who believe the bible is litterally true and those who believe religion has no value".
-
Was Nietzsche talking about the 2nd coming of Jesus?
OK, that's two negs for two reasonable post's, are you offended or insulted by my conjecture? What makes you think I want people to feel sorry for him? These arguments are really very weak indeed. I merely provided context that I think lends credence to my premise, his early life was steeped in a belief in the god of his father's teaching, which he was entirely happy with until his fathers very painful death. My point is, sigh 🙄, the village idiot is perfectly content with his lot, he doesn't even care that we call him the village idiot; which is a really neat fit with the madman parable I mentioned earlier in this thread and whomsoever Jesus actually was, which is also an irrelevance to my premise; someone inspired the book and it seems was inspired by who many thought was an equivalent of 'the village idiot' or <insert idiom here>.
