  1. Totally understand. No worries.
  2. That’s a great restore! I’m sure seeing it made her extremely happy. Well done 👍
  3. You and I are aligned here, and I certainly appreciate the sentiment, but I can't in good conscience allow you to conflate posting points and counter points on a discussion forum like SFN (and various other social media channels) with the great work those great people did often at great personal risk to truly change the world. Too late. The right wing outrage machine has been a dominant force for a few decades already now.
  4. So does seeing otherwise decent people nonchalantly use as an incentive slur the act of advocating for social justice. No offense intended to my buddy James Clerk M, but anyone who thinks it’s an insult to refer to others as warriors of social justice are to be dismissed as knuckle dragging fools.
  5. Or vaccine resistant… regardless of from whence it comes
  6. My home state was super smart and decided to address Covid by no longer reporting the numbers and making it illegal for schools to mandate masks. The numbers can’t go up if you’re not counting them! Super duper smart. Reminds me of government reports and military planning docs being required to strip the words “climate change” out every publication.
  7. Oh, poppycock! EVERY single decision I EVER made during my teenage years was PERFECT!! Correct, but even if there were it still reeks to me of "separate, but equal" treatment. I reckon they should be allowed to participate in whatever division or classification they choose, so long as they meet and adhere to the (non-gender based) requirements of that division or classification. Seems obvious to me that we can just leave gender out of it entirely, and setup classifications and divisions based on other things (as StringJunky recently highlighted).
  8. Well, there you have it. I just used my phone lol (also, smoke from California wildfires had blown into the air)
  9. We haven't achieved it yet. Legislatures across the United States are making it illegal for transgendered humans to participate in sports aligned with their identified gender... hence this thread.
  10. Which of us do you believe does not know this difference? Is it that you have perceived me as arguing for equality of outcome? If so, then I've failed miserably to accurately convey my thoughts on this topic. It's about equity (whether we choose to address the symptom or the system remains to be seen), but it is not about equality. He already did, did he not?
  11. Clearly my own personal camera and editing capability doesn't match what I originally posted above, but supplementing this with a photo of my own:
  12. Interesting. Can you find a way to have the water chemically analyzed?
  13. Could it maybe be the drugs you’re taking, and not the tap water? no offense intended… genuine question
  14. Perhaps, but that doesn’t render moot any of my points.
  15. No, just focused on the wrong thing IMO. Misguided, as it were. Precisely Implicit in this is the suggestion that transgendered females are "cheating" by competing against cis-gendered females. This may be indicative of an unconscious transphobia, or it may not... Just highlighting that we often struggle to see our own biases.

A tale as old as time... Humans are ridiculous, sometimes.
  17. Publicly, anyway. I wonder how long before that they’d hid “in the closet” bc of the massive lack of acceptance and outright threats of violence so many face daily even today in our culture.
  18. I’ve seen far more unfairness on one side of this particular equation than I’d like. The desire to move us all passed it into a better more inclusive future… and to recognize that fighting for those “poor oppressed cis-gendered athletes” is most charitably described as misguided… has motivated me throughout this discussion. Congrats on your team winning, and congrats to Quinn for overcoming the already overwhelming hurdles that come with making it to the Olympics… as well as the countless others she’s surely faced all throughout her life just for being herself as a transgendered human.
  19. Agreed. This seems to me to be the only plausible solution which ensures the fairness in competition we all seem to desire
  20. Great. Where's your evidence underlying this repeated claim that all of these dominant athletes are XY chromosomal?
