Has the Republican party lost its collective mind?

harmful skin care ingredients ?
Fresh, you seem to have missed my earlier question in all the excitement. How are you ruling out coincidence as an explanation? http://en.wikipedia....rgo_propter_hoc

Missing Malaysia 777 flight...
It was the TV series I had in mind http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CSI:_Crime_Scene_Investigation though I guess the movies are much the same. The show uses a "rose tinted glasses" approach to forensic science. Remotely turning on the "Bad Guy"'s mobile 'phone to find out where he is would be exactly the sort of thing that would happen in the show. Unfortunately, it doesn't happen in real life. (Just think about it; nobody's mobile 'phone would stay stolen for long)

Did you see that on CSI or something?

I can't prove it's photoshop but: How much would a gator that size weigh? How much force would it take to produce a visible distortion of the mesh of the fence?

Possibly less dumb than whoever is taking the picture. There's no fence between the photographer and those teeth. However, I suspect photoshop.

what's a good programming language to learn?
This thread started years ago. There are probably languages now that didn't exist when the question was first asked. I also suspect that, by now, the OP has got the hang of at least one language (and I'd not be at all shocked to find they have learned (at least bits of) several). ecoli, Am I right?

Is Psychology a real science?
From http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Wanamaker A popular saying illustrating how difficult it was to reach potential customers using traditional advertising is attributed to John Wanamaker: "Half the money I spend on advertising is wasted; the trouble is I don't know which half." Good money is, indeed paid for studies of product layout. And the results of those studies are reasonably consistent- for example items placed on the ends of aisles are more likely to be noticed. However I don't think there is no scientific theory behind the results. No psychologist, as far as I know, could a priori predict what would be a good place for some product any better than a layman who thought about it for a bit.

Voluntary Blurry Vision?
Shame on you for actually introducing evidence into this thread.

Voluntary Blurry Vision?
So far, my request for those who can't to make themselves known has not born fruit. Can you explain why you believe that "most people cannot do it "
-
Voluntary Blurry Vision?
Is there anyone here who can't do this?
-
Voluntary Blurry Vision?
TBH, that's more useful than I thought this thread would be.

Voluntary Blurry Vision?
"Are you able to blur your vision whenever you like and for as long as you want, to switch from sharp to blur in a second at your own command?" Yes, I take my glasses off. I can also voluntarily defocus my eyes,. Why bother?

The English Lisp
"It is mainly an upper class public school thing, I see so many who cannot pronounce an 'r'," Or, at least as likely, you see people who do not pronounce that r (or, at least, not the way you would). You are assuming an inability, rather than a choice.

Making Helium-3
Your post doesn't make sense so there's no point in bumping it. You would do better if you explained what you thought 1K meant.
