  1. I can see solar panels being on almost every new build roof .Autonomy of energy supply is the way to go... when the domestic battery storage is cheap enough. I think the newly developed photovoltaic stuff is embedded in plastic film that can be wrapped around or laid out on anything.
  2. I will argue for it to be here but I reserve the right not to participate and for me not to see it. Long live self-censorship.
  3. Just saw this in the 'Topic'' box. Thank god I've got the 'Religion' forum on my ban list.
  4. Technology is applied science a lot of the time, particularly these days..

"Google Bomb is an orchestrated linking campaign that is aimed at creating a high search result for a Web page. Specific keywords are chosen to make a statement – political, humorous or otherwise – about the Web page that is displayed. When these keywords are entered as a search query, the targeted Web page becomes the top result."
  9. Mostly, we use computers rather than think about them here. The only time they get mentioned is when they aren't working, hence all the 'repair' posts.
  10. Where there's a clear demand, by repeated questions on a subject, they would likely create a forum for something.
  11. Whether it was bankrolled or not, the desire was there for a referendum and that's the point I'm trying to make.... Russia didn't change anything. It was going to happen and PM David Cameron made it happen. Cameron was Conservative. See my response above.
  12. Russia has nothing to do with the Brexit result. That's been gradually happening for decades. As far as regime change goes, I think that it is current wisdom is that it's not a good idea; change must occur from within. Iraq and Libya are sobering lessons
  13. Don't give up. Look at it as a journey of exploration.
  14. That's nice. Have you tried stamping your design the same way and setup with the chloride solution?
  15. Oh dear. Have you watched this video. They show several different ways. The one showing where the liquid is put in a pen at 1.06 and using your stencil above looks right for you I think and no need for lacquer. Note the stencil is stuck down in the vid, so you may need to do that each time.
  16. You can fully matte the lacquer with a Scotchbrite pad when you are done and it's cured properly. I did that on my gloss guitar and it came out great. Just maintain one direction until it looks even then wipe with a damp cloth to clean it.
  17. The Republicans may deny these people are part of them but I see them as living caricatures of mainstream Republican policy. They represent how their policies would manifest in the end if not obstructed... not pretty.
  18. If that fails, you can get high temperature clear lacquer if that's the problem. It's not too dear. Here's a UK example: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Tech-Xtremely-Temperature-LACQUER-Exhaust/dp/B00ZXZP480 I suspect the Rustoleum spray is more temperature tolerant than normal lacquers; it's got 'enamel' in its name.
  19. At least you now know the source of the bleeding and that's a good result. Are you using the same lacquer as other people that do it?
  20. Try that and post back. Follow the grain when sanding, and with a block.
  21. Yes, it's still bleeding. I'll ponder on it. I think it's the wood. It wants to be dead smooth by planing, ideally, I think.
  22. Don't let the sealer spray droplets join up into a liquid film when you spray, as that is when it will run under the stencil. Do light sprays and each time going for an orange peel effect. In a nutshell, you are spraying each layer too heavily so that it can run... go for a more powdery spray effect. When it's all done and dried properly you can smooth the orange peel effect with a light sanding action with the green side of a washing up sponge or one of those green plastic scouring pads to give a satin finish.
  23. I found this method: The clear coat is thicker, so it wont bleed under the vinyl, then when the vinyl's removed, the clear coat won't allow the chloride to bleed passed the clear coat. You just might have to reverse how you make your stencil, whether it's a positive or a negative of your design. Seems like a workable solution. A rubber-faced roller might be useful to make sure the stencil edges are stuck firmly before clear coating
  24. Response by Sanofi on Roseanne Barr's recent racist comment that tickled me:
