Hi, I'm an Englishman in Amsterdam, 'like my toast done on one side' etc etc. Here it’s legal to smoke marijuana at your 'home or certain designated places'. When I make a joint (tobacco combined with marijuana) I produce off cuts of tobacco combined with small bits of marijuana. Over the years these off cuts are enough to fill a largre bag. From crude calculations I understand there to be over 200 euros worth of marijuana mixed in with the tobacco. To sift and manually remove the marijuana is very time consuming and tedious, therefore I would like advice on possible methods for extracting these two materials from each other. As the materials are similar (both plants)…

I am looking reliable information on the topic. So far all I have found is advertisements. Have you seen any studies that explain the testing procedures, who or what was tested and who administered the tests.

There is several types of sciences but what if someone wanted to study all of them? Most schools will make you pick a major and a minor and suggest your minor fit your major or compliments it. What if you just wanted to study different sciences? Like Chemistry, psychology, biology, computer science. Science and math can be applied to everything in the world. Why are there no overall science degrees?

What happened to the philosophy forum? I’m nearly certain that scienceforums.net included a philosophy forum at one point. Was it scrubbed due to lack of use? if so, I’m curious to know when was it scrubbed?

I was just thinking, everyone says the universe will one day just and and be dead, but why do black holes keep gathering mass and energy then, I mean, all matter is just energy in it`s purest form and since black holes gathers mass over time and get`s heavier and heavier, will the weight eventually be so much that the mass breaks down to energy again and become a new sun? It`s a kinda strange idea that the universe will just be dead in the future when it came from nothing and, like, why can`t it do it again also? I know the inner fire in our own planet won`t last forever, and therefore the electromagnetic field around it will die also and all life, but one can speculate a…

According to many sources, the ultimate compression strength of human femurs along its long axis (vertically) is 205 mpa or 29700 psi. I tried to convert 205 mpa to kg/cm² and the result is 205 mpa is equal to 2090.41824 kg/cm². So, I think the maximum weight that a human femur can support vertically before breaking is 2 tonnes. Isn't it? But with different method of calculation, I got a drastically different answer. The maximum diameter of human femurs is 3 cm and some exceeded 3 cm by 5 mm or more especially in weightlifters. So I followed this calculation from https://openoregon.pressbooks.pub/bodyphysics/chapter/stress-and-strain-on-the-body/. First we divide the…

Could structured potential control chemical thermodynamics? I think for instance that if you have a medium which has two elements in it, one is hotter then the other the system will move to equilibrium. So could you control the flow of this, in regards to it playing out in chemical potential, reaction and bonding? I am just wondering on the potential to do chemistry from molding a system in which reaction is diving primarily by nothing more then movement towards equilibrium really. I imagine that bonding behavior by electrons would have a close affinity in this for cause and effect or the system moving towards equilibrium correct? Yet I imagine I would have to do the…

Hi. If reasonable efforts to germinate seeds result in nothing, is it commonly due to the seeds being from a hybrid plant ? Should that be the reason ? Seeds with zero origin information : Not germinating when following instructions from expert/successful growers-

Hi. Doing some aeroponics for culinary herbs indoors, and found in publications there is mention of need for oxygen to flow around the roots together with the fertilizing nutrients on fine mist. Seems to me that all 'experts' in aeroponics focus in root oxygenation from air flow and simply ignore/forget the nitrogen action. ----> Isn't nitrogen to the roots more important than the oxygen for the plant growth success ? That is what fertilization is all about... I think.

I am not sure where to put this so I will put this in General Science. If it belongs in a different sub-forum then I apologize in advance. I have been thinking about the three parts of time past present and future. Past and future seem relatively simple to define but I have been struggling to find a definition of present. I mean if I say this is present by the time I am done saying that it has all happened in the past. And we see everything in the past because even though light is incredible fast it take the light sometime to reach our eyes from what ever it hit. So what we see is actually in the past. Also I have been thinking that when if I looked at the ni…

Hello Science forums! I'm new to this forum, but a long time fan of science and the search for knowledge. I wanted to share a video I made portraying my perspective and the emergent theory of life. If you know any more videos along the same lines please share! Hope you enjoy it! And Ill be making more videos like that too, so if you like it, don't forget to subscribe! I look forward to your thoughts and feedback.

I was informed that I was indeed correct, but I was late, there is already a law of the unity and conflict of opposites, that was created 150 years ago. (Thank you for letting me know, so I don't make the mistake of putting my life to research of a law that already exists.) Now I can research and come up with other theories about the universe we live in, and maybe the universes outside.

I have been reading some things about the geological column and fossils and am interested in evolutionists' responses. First, why is the geological column presented in textbooks as an definite thing when it does not appear to actually exist anywhere in the world? That is, except for a claim by one site on the Internet, http://www.talkorigins.org/faqs/geocolumn/ Is this generally accepted to be true information? If so, I do not understand how his various layers have any relation whatsoever to the age of the layers listed in tables. He seems to be saying that each layer is made up of different types of materials. If this is correct, then how do we know how old each laye…

hello everyone, sorry if the answer to my question is easy to find if i just look but the further down the screen i go the "stupider" ( not even a word) i feel. but here goes.... does anyone know of any gas or gases that have a reaction of expanding when introduced to a low (?) level of electrical current. gasoline has a high reaction to a very intense ( sparkplug firing) and is subsequently burnt up. i'm thinking about a gas that would expand but not burn or explode . but rapidly expand. and upon removal of the electrical charge ( or current) would cease to expand and revert completely or mostly back to its original state. if anyone knows anything like this i would…

Inspired by nature, here`s a few neat Cutesypie ideas for loved ones. if you get a sharp needle or pin and scratch the skin of a tomato lightly while it`s still growing and green the design will grow and stay there when ripe, initials are always a good one to use. but the best one is if you have an apple tree, while the apples are still green, get some black felt material, cut a small heart shape out of it and wrap it around the apple (you want the heart cutout to facing the sun idealy) when it`s ripe, you`ll get a green apple with a red heart on it, Ideal for valentines and who says Science can`t be all mushy gushy )
