Cyclops once played a Trombone, just once. He picked it up, fixed it, br.pr.br.pr.ewed into mouthpiece with vibrating lips. He played for a long time moaning away like a fog-horn. When he slept that night he dreamt that milk was oozing out of the corners of his mouth. Any Psycho-Analysis?! Cyclops own analysis is that the vibrating lips stirred the memory of his childhood, milk-sucking babehood, what an easy way to regain Lost Innocence! After that the sweetest music to cyclops' ears was the playful thrpthrm, thrpthrm issuing out of childrens lips. He played the flute the same way with vibrating lips, not with a blow hole in the mouth. He felt he re…

  3. I think everyone, it they tried, could come up with an original saying. I hit upon this one this year: "There are no accidents, just people taking too much risk." I have not yet been able to originate another. How about it everyone?

If there is a culture war, and I think there is, who attacking whom? Here are a couple of videos portraying some of what has gone on this Christmas here in the US... Also this is for some of you who do not live in the US and cannot comprehend the news organizations being less than honest, several examples of this dishonesty is shown in these videos... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTqZ4ucH144 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U_qAR1Zx3Ng I wasn't sure if this belonged in the religious forum or not, if it does feel free to move it.

Hello all, pretty new to the forums and only high school level of knowledge. I don't consider my self to be natural smart and have little science knowledge. But I always believed if one does dedicated the time and effort they can reach high levels. And I was hoping the forum users here were knowledgable enough to point me in a good direction. I'm interested in Electromagnetics. From what little I have devled (mostly off the internet which I know is not always trustworthy but seems to have some interesting things) there seems to be alot of things and applications that just don't seem to be used in our common day or receive little to no attention. Now I know most people…

  6. Hello, so i am asking a question. As what do you perceive the economic crisis? The beginning of a downfall or an oppurtunity for change? Will we be seeing more conflicts between countries? Is this the appropriate time to blaim each other for the situation that we are dealing with? I am a 17 year old student living in Greece a country that has been deeply afflicted by the economic crisis. However , i believe that this is a perfect opportunity for all nations like Greece to evolve and rejuvenate. This optimistic view may be a result of my age, so perhaps i am mistaken. Feel free to argue with my statement. I am interested in all possible opinions.Thank you for your…

I was just wondering for a title for a project in college when it struck me that Singapore has the one of the highest lightning strikes a year. So I will like to ask if it was possible to have this energy harvested for future use from the lightning?

Old article, but I only came across it recently. http://www.paulgraham.com/trolls.html I thought the "bad conversation drives out good" comment (the reference to Gresham's law) was particularly insightful. It's why there we have moderation. The really bad conversation — spam and its ilk and obvious trolling — is eliminated as soon as we discover it. The lesser infractions have a weaker feedback, in an attempt to improve the quality.

HALLUCINATION happened again! a Visitation!! Again it was a piece of cloth, a huge banner actually, i was holding it up by its two top corners with my hands spread apart (in the twilight areas sizes dont matter) letting the cob-webby wobles and waves in the closed eyes settle on the banner with a precision, purpose and focus reported in possession in seances, a transferrance---- the banner started rolling, rippling, billowing, lifting my spirit with it. I soared and dived with it to my mind's fill. It was a great cleanser, liberator, a perfect de-stress at all levels. I was not sleeping, nor dreaming, but in a day-dreaming somnolence, yet aware. What are the…

  16. This may come across as a pseudo intellectual rant, I wouldn't know. In any case, I'm not looking for pseudo intellectual answers. I just spent some time trying to be honest with myself, and I need to communicate these ideas to other people. I came to the science forums because I'm looking for studious, hardworking people. Physicists, doctors, engineers, I am jealous of you. I’ve slowed my behavior to a halt. I’ve stopped my life in its tracks and I proceedthrough each day focusing on very few ideas. It’s because I am slowly starting to realize that my will is not leadingme in any path. I am stuck. And scared of the content I feel in myidleness. Should I not l…

My name is Serena Nicoll. I am doing a science project investigating how students from different types of schools understand conservation of mass and volume. I am asking for your help in two ways. First, can you and your children ages 9 and older please take a survey? To fill out the survey, please visit https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/L77RJKX . Second, can you please share this post so that everyone will see it? I am trying to get as many people from around the world to take this survey as possible. If everyone takes the survey and tells their friends, I will have a really great study! Thank you so much for your support!

IQ represents how many metaphors you have, not how elaborately you can put them together - I wonder if concepts are contextualized metaphors, as innovation is often inspired by such. Brain damage isn't just something to talk about - there's no telling which neurons we'll need. Does anyone know the dreamcatcher model of social networks?

Well, I have come to realize, but not realized in hindsight that I will actually have some time over the christmas periods to participate for a number of weeks before my studies begin again. Until my christmas holidays are over, I will need to resume back to my work. So for now, you may consider me back for a short spell.

Now Nasa says that there are no planetary alignments in the next few decades, but I don't know in what context they said that. This is what I found out on the simulation. Is this literally an alignment?. I also clicked on the A.D and the B.C buttons provided there and the planets were mostly aligned in a different way on B.C too, so that means that the grouping of planets is a normal phenomena which occurs frequently and no further teleology has to be attributed to it and the earth has existed for 4.5 billion years, it has seen more things like these than we do. What do you think, does it mean anything scientifically?
