All, thinking I might be victim of an Inet scam -- inbox items from my account on hotmail appear to have been read before I got to them. I'm curious: obviously it would be easy for anyone anywhere in the world to go to hotmail.com, enter an accurate username and then try to guess the password. I know the server locks one out after so many attempts (yes, I'm old and feeble enough where I sometimes forget my own pw so I speak from experience!). Is it possible for the wizards at hotmail to provide me with the IP of anyone who's tried to get into my screenname/acct? (Have tried email to them but no joy over the weekend, thought someone of an Internet background might know…

Hey guys, I just wanted to mention that I haven't abandoned you, I'm just totally overwhelmed right now with schoolwork and other projects. I've at least scanned over most of the threads in the Politics board, and you guys are having some great discussions in there and I wish I had time to jump in. As always the level of discussion that takes place here is just outstanding. Soon as things level off here I promise I'll be back in the fray.

All, please let me know if the following will make me look like an idiot. I have a cynical, comical group of contacts and I try to keep up. Soon we expect our third son and I'm thinking of sending this sarcastic announcement. Your honest feedback on whether it's funny will be appreciated: >> Pleased to report that Cameron James arrived xxx and weighed in at xxx. He’s in fine shape as is his Mom, who’s been a true star throughout the entire 65 months of this pregnancy. In fact, everyone’s just plain dandy -- even me. No, the stress of now being responsible for the livelihood of three kids in a troubled world hasn’t driven Dad over the edge. In fact, onc…

Any of you has fish at home? Can you tell me more about it ? How to remove the chlorine in water? How can I find some micro-organism for the fish to eat? What does fish mainly eat? Why there is a lot of microogranism on the surface of algae?

Alot of teenagers when they hear the word 'school' they just well grow sick and don't want to do it. I agree, it's boring sometimes, and i dislike all subjects except... Science. Something about Science interests me big time. I think it's the feeling that you get when a friend says 'Do you get this?' and you know you do. When i was younger scientists were like geniuses and everything to them was complex to me, but now that i understand some i feel part of that group. I love science. Why do you love Science? P.S. What is the name of the one-celled organism we all started out as? Started with a Z, forgot it...

Well, i'm not sure whether this sign is only experienced in Singapore. So, wanna ask your views on that. IN the past, i found that people tend to be more friendly to each other. For example, neighbours living around the same area would greet each other even though both are completely strangers. If it is not greeting, they would smile at each other and ask a question or two to start a friendly conversation? Yet, now, everyone seems to be becoming self-centred and cold towards one another. this greatly dampens the community spirit, and the joy of living together in one community. Food for thought: what has caused us to be like that? What are your views?

I have a modelling exam tomorrow on stuff like heat flow, wave equation, Laplace/Fourier transforms and fluid flow and I've come to the realisation that mathematics causes Gulf War Syndrome. Maybe one day the government will recognise my plight and not claim that my condition is purely psychological. Complex analysis is all fun and games until someone loses an i.

Im not sure if it is a permanent fixture or not. But on the front page of this site there is a Goolgle ad for "The Final Theory" and I was wondering if anyone actually believes this crap and if so who? I just skimmed a few paragraphs from the site and I felt like screaming. this is the site I checked the claim that this book is a science bestseller at Amazon.com and I found that it is NOT. I feel slightly comforted now that I know that Brian Greene's great books are bestsellers. I thought I had drastically underestimated the worlds stupidity, but I am happy to learn that I have not. Still, any thoughts on the subject?

I do not know much about this subject, which of course brings me to wonder: how did we as humans come to be? How did dinosaurs come to be? What started life on earth? Was there any species before dinosaurs? How does evolution work? I know this is a lot to answer at once but these have been buggin' me. Anyone know, or have any theorys?

http://www.timesonline.co.uk/newspaper/0,,176-1347343,00.html "Jad Marrouche is — just — keeping his head above water. A bright 18-year-old, he’s studying physics at Imperial College in London. By living with his parents and brother in a cramped flat in north Kensington, with the help of a £1,500 scholarship and with fees paid for by the state, he’s got fewer debts than most second-year students. But if Jad were starting student life in the autumn of 2006 he would, he says, be far, far better off. Even though universities will be allowed to raise tuition fees to £3,000 a year, for clever kids the future looks surprisingly rosy. " u wondering why they picked hi…
