  1. I'm imagining that we could use a light fabric that is tightly intertwined but as durable as steam with gentle sound waves to recover the fabric. The walls would need to be covered in a a bunch of lights/lasers that flash light that only interacts with the fabric after a certain length (3ms). The fabric has to be user friendly and abundant. The floor would have to be full of intelligent treadmill balls.

  2. Hello. Give examples of applications of artificial intelligence in education, please. I am making a presentation on theme - "Applications of artificial intelligence in education". I was told that I can write about "LEGO Mindstorms" and about "ABBYY TestReader" which helped to check answers of Unified State Exam (in Russia). I don't know what add in my presentation to the existing.

My computer skills are not great to say the least, Just wondered if anyone can tell me is there a easy way to copy and paste from xl to a thread/post, without all my figures merging together and losing colour? As shown below, is there a special format to use? Cheers. http://alphaomegadotme.files.wordpress.com/2013/02/grouped-elements-old-quarkstargalaxyuniv.xls …

One question is whether I can use a bot program (data mining) to bypass the whole entering of letters and numbers process that some websites use to make sure that the user is human. I know it's made to prevent that type of activity, but my company really needs to access information that, at this point, only a human can access. We need to use our time efficiently, and at this point our employees are taking anywhere between 10 and 15 minutes just to check two webpages. We're trying to access 5-10 webpages within 30 seconds and some of them require that the user identify the letters and numbers in the image. The other question is this. When you get to a webpage and you w…

Hi, I have a new graph problem which, due to it's similarities to other known problems, I'm fairly certain that it is contained in NP and is NP-hard (the 2 necessary ingredients for NP-completeness). I have a proof that it is NP-hard, however, proving that it's contained in NP is turning out to be difficult. My understanding of the normal process for doing this is to prove either reducibility from both directions or to prove that, given a potential solution, the solution can be verified in polynomial time. I have a potential solution and a proof that the solution can be verified in NP time (using a known NP-complete problem). My question is: Is that sufficient to pr…

Hi there. I'm looking for bibliography, studies, literature to my engineering work - "Anonymity (in web)" & yeah - I do realize that about this topic tomes of books can be written. I'd like to focus on things which not directly do identify user such as biometry, behavoirism, data collected about him and so go on. I've arleady did some digging which allowed for me to specify some issues (list mentioned below). What would you suggest to eventually remove or add to this list. Biometrics (fingerprints, hands' geometry, voice sound, iris, veins, teeth, ears, lips, DNA, blood vessels & other not mentioned methods(authorization systems)) behaviorism (characteristics …

I want to learn maths for artificial intelligence. I heard that main areas of mathematics for AI are Multivariable Calculus, Linear Algebra, Probability and Statistics and Discrete Mathematics. But what level of these subjects do I need? For example the easy level is like Calculus of Gilbert Strang and 18.01 Calculus from MIT Open Course Ware. The hard level is Apostol's or Spivak's Calculus. Do I need easy level of maths or hard level to be good at artificial intelligence and its areas (machine learning, pattern recognition).

  10. Hi, This post is mainly for web developer who work on PHP development. We often face problem when we need to import or export large amount of data in/out web server. If the server is in cloud then it also creates tough hurdle. Here I have thought a new approch for Php developers and tried to solve the issue. Have a look and go throughly each doc and reply what should be done more. http://worldsenex.in/index.php Thanks in advance Samiul Haque

I am confused as to why merge sort for a list of size 2^n takes n steps. If you have n=4 lists 3,9,8,10 and you sort from least to greatest: 3 9 8 10 (3,9) (8,10) 2 work to compare 3 with 9 and 8 with 10. (3,8,9,10) 3 work to compare 3 with 8, 8 with 9, and 9 with 10. That's a total of 5 work, not 4. Every definition out there says it takes 4 steps to merge when it obviously takes 5 steps in the example given. Why is that?

So when i try to solve problems, i sometimes come up with some pretty neat ideas about how to best express or contain something, that often turns ugly code somewhat more elegant, and i like elegant code So I want share some random programming ideas, in random languages, perhaps some solutions. And you are also welcome to join me, perhaps this may help someone perhaps. Here's an example: This is something i have come up with a couple of years ago. It works when you need to have actions on data, perhaps called at random, or perhaps called every time, but you don't care what those actions are specifically (and they can be easily written or extended by someone el…

My idea is that a raster image file format could be created where the data for the image was interpreted as instructions in an algorythm language. That way people could encode however they liked, PNG, JPEG or some other means that hasn't been designed yet, regardless of if the recipient's computer has previously known about the algorithm or not. Directed search could also be used such as Genetic Algorithm (genetic programming), A* (it's a search too) or a varient of Monty Carlo Tree Search for this task to create the perfect algorythm for the image being compressed.

Hi all, I DJ various events, and I am looking to setup a website to stream the audio live over the internet. I'd like my site to be a little more clean cut, ranter than use some third party source.. In short I want the user to be able to type in my url, and the live audio immediately starts streaming.. I know the basic HTML/CSS, however I really don't know where to start with this. Any advice or suggestions about reasources or starting points would be greatly appreciated!

  16. I want to choose the area of specialization - operating systems or artificial intelligence. On the one hand, I'm interested in operating systems and low-level programming. But this area seems to me to stop. It seems to me that nothing new happens here, "all have been invented". This article (though written long ago) confirmed my thoughts: http://doc.cat-v.org/bell_labs/utah2000/ On the other hand, artificial intelligence seems to be something very interesting and even exciting. There are many interesting areas - machine learning, machine vision, pattern recognition. Artificial intelligence is associated with robotics. I heard "Around 2025, being a robot programmer wi…

It might have been posted before. http://www.nasa.gov/content/be-an-asteroid-hunter-in-nasas-first-asteroid-grand-challenge-contest-series/#.UyAY0fmwLGE I, myself, have programming experience in many languages. If there are some astronomers out there that would be willing to work with me and other programmers that are out there, we could use our knowledge to develop an algorithm that could detect asteroids simply using ground-based telescopes. We can also use physics knowledge to solve this problem. I don't know if this contest is already over, but if it is and no one has solved it y…

  18. Consciousness and the unimaginable progress of computing technology Sourced and consolidated by me, from more than one internet article My comment are in italic font The debate really is about our brains, does that strange entity we call the mind exist separate from the physical brain? If that is the case a computer will never have a mind it would remain a colossal calculator given us the illusion of intelligence Present computers are in reality as intelligent as a door knob, they add in binary at the speed of light and very smart software programmers have manipulated this to give the impression of intelligent consciousness. So i have, at least what i think to be an interesting problem. Wondering if you have solved this a different way maybe, of if there is a solution you know of, or maybe just thoughts on how you would approach/implement this. So i have a dataset that is prone to sudden bursts of change, lets say value of A over the course of 10 seconds changes 10 times. The interim states of A are not important to me, but a settled state of A especially in case of the change of A is important. So i am looking for a datastructure that will keep data in a key-value pair, and allow it to change rapidly, but then as some time passes (perhaps a minute, or a few minutes), i need to know that …

  20. In this exercise, you will attempt to estimate the number of stack frames that the kernel will permit a process to populate the system's main memory. To illustrate this, think of an infinite recursive program. One might wonder how many times will this program be allowed to spawn, i.e, how many stack frames can this program push onto the stack before either 1. the system runs out of memory or 2. the kernel kills this rouge process (the latter is more likely to happen in a *nix based system). To this end, write a simple C program that enables you to give a rough estimate on the number of stack frames pushed on the stack. Clearly, you are expected to write an infinite recurs…

Hi, I am a new member here, and I'd like to ask some questions to this forum. You people have heard about Li-Fi right? Would you please tell me about that in detail, how it works, pros and cons, and how to implement it in a country, especially in countrysides and villages? Oh, one more thing, can microwave be used instead of IRs or visible electromagnetic waves, without losing speed? Does it cause any interference or something? And, how can I use it in smartphones, PCs, tablets and Laptops?

Recently human user, focus more on organizing their information but web is a place of action, not just information and core purpose of global data is to serve human needs. Researchers in this field continuously work to provide “automation” by using different technologies like Artificial Intelligence, web2.0 and web3.0 and intelligent systems. Now as you know that HCI mainly focus on external working of software, providing good usability and evaluation methods in order to produce excellent interfaces for users. Suppose in future, extension of current web will come true and “machine will become intelligent enough to perform tasks automatically”. Then, do you think tha…

At the time of converting data, your system have to check multiple condition before inserting into data base of that amount of data then?
